ThanksGIVING 11/12-11/24

Greetings Everyone,
First let me start off with an apology for my inconsistency with the SOD’s. It is truly not my intent to miss so many days without notice. Please be mindful that I am currently pursuing my Masters in Psychology, in addition to sleep deprivation and tons of miscellaneous tasks I am spreading myself very thinly. This post acts as my disclaimer to inform everyone that I will produce the SOD periodically in an inconsistent pattern, until I am free from my obligation of school and able to devote and balance my time more effectively. In the meantime I ask for, appreciate, and thank you for your prayers in that department.

On another note, I want to extend an invitation to you and anyone you may know who is interested in collecting food items for this Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 22, 2012); my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.), is looking to provide at least two (2) needy families with a holiday turkey and all the fixings. This is a plea for any food items and/or monetary donations that will contribute toward our goal to provide two families with a complete holiday meal (please provide me with the donator’s contact information as well, so that I may provide him/her with a contribution receipt).
Below is a list of desired items we wish to collect NO LATER THAN November 20th:
  • ·       Whole turkey (2)
  • ·       Stuffing (4-box)
  • ·       Corn bread (4-box)
  • ·       Cranberry sauce (2-can)
  • ·       Green beans (4-can)
  • ·       Carton of eggs (2)
  • ·       Disposable baking pans (4)
  • ·       Glory canned yams (4)
  • ·       Sparkling apple cider (4)
  • ·       Macaroni (2-bag)
  • ·       Velveeta cheese (2)
Personally, I’m used to making everything from scratch, but the above items should be in canned or boxed form with the exception of the turkey (obviously), and the eggs, just in case the individual doesn’t know how to make such items from scratch. Feel free to include any other items you may think are essential for this holiday.

Also, please keep in mind that we are still collecting items and monetary donations throughout the year to create and send care packages to our military troops on deployment. You can get with me to set up a pick-up or drop-off date/time for any collected items or monetary donations. Or, feel free to make a monetary pledge via PayPal on our website at http://www.fmbs-inc-bytye.org/That being said please make a suggestion for a family in need of a holiday meal, including a brief description of their circumstance, so that we may make an informed decision on which two (2) families will be the recipients of this holiday meal.

Lastly, I would like to extend an invitation to all interested parties, to attend our first official volunteer meeting for FMBS Inc., to be held on November 24th at 2:30pm, location will be provided upon your RSVP at sustenance@fmbs-inc-bytye.org (light snacks will be provided).
