Anyway, I encourage you to always read the Prayer of the Day, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying forPRAYER REQUESTS: My aunt Marilyn was in an accident a few days ago, she's doing well but has a broken wrist; pray for a speedy recovery. Please continue praying for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you or someone you know would like to get involved in giving back to the community, donations may be made year-round to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). You may also register to contribute funds per every purchase you make through Ralph's and/or Food 4 Less (this is NO cost to you, the donation is a percentage taken from each purchase, and donated from the store on your behalf); if you would like to link your rewards card with FMBS Inc. let me know so that I may send you the information to register... HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… "Salmon isn't just a ridiculously tasty dinner, it's also proven to make you feel better from head to toe: Three to four servings a week can ease depression; People who have IBS also have blood deficient in long-chain fatty acids - fish oil helps fill that gap and lessens symptoms; Eating more omega-3s reduced headache pain and improved quality of life for people with chronic headaches; Lubricating joints with fish oil can reduce arthritis pain; 3.5 ounces = 1,000 to 2,000 mg of omega-3s" (Klein, S. BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity… If you believe in God (His title) – Yahweh (His personal name), you can be delivered, transformed, restored, and your mind can be renewed. The rest of this day isn’t promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you, NOW not later. Ponder this, “Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes” (Peter Drucker). Have a blessed weekend.

Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PASSAGE – JONAH 4:5:
So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.”

REFLECTIONS:
We are all called to be ministers of a sort. But doing ministry has its difficulties (as so many people can attest). As we seek to follow God’s lead, we often find the greatest hindrance to doing so is ‘I’. What ‘I’ expect. What ‘I’ want. What ‘I’ think… Like Jonah, what ‘I’ want can cause me to run opposite of where God leads. Like Jonah, what ‘I’ think can lead me follow my reasoning above God’s reason. And, like Jonah, what ‘I’ expect can develop in me a bitter attitude towards people and even God’s plan, simply because God didn’t work as I thought He should. Setting out to minister, we seldom consider such snares might await us. But many a minister has burned out or broken beneath the burdens brought by personal plans, wants, reasoning, and expectations of how they thought God should work. It is, after all, His work. We can praise Him for what He does and how He does it. Or, like Jonah, we can pout beneath our shelter and wonder why God doesn’t work according to what ‘I’ want, think, or expect.” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 19). Prodigal prophet [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

So here we go again, if you're constantly questioning "why" things are not going the way YOU expected, then it's time to REMOVE self from the equation and consider what Yahweh's plan is for your life. Sometimes when He works it will meet our expectations, NOT because He's working on our time, NOR is He trying to cater to our wants; when we are living righteously, and moving according to His will, then our desires will begin to fashion themselves around His Word and His will. Thus, our wants may be fulfilled in the time we anticipated - having absolutely NOTHING to do with what we personally think or feel - because our righteousness has molded our desires and expectations to match that which is in His will.

"If we will obey God's Word He will gently lead us. His harsh judgement is reserved for those who persist in rebellion"(Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Jonah. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 4:5-11 (pp. 1270). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Yahweh we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. Lord please place your healing hand upon Marilyn, providing instant relief from any discomfort she may be experiencing; we thank you in advance for her complete and speedy recovery. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing each of us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. For everyone and everything we have failed to pray for, we ask that you do not fail to address the concern. This is our affirmation of faith Yahweh, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen!

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… "Strength-training expert Wayne Westcott says: "Strength-train for 10 minutes and you'll burn about 80 calories during the workout and another 100 calories or so in the hours after you finish, as the body requires energy to repair and build muscle." Multiply all that by 2 months, and you have roughly 11,000 calories, which translates to about a 3-pound loss of body fat. So how did they lose the rest of it? The clean eating certainly helped, but Westcott says the other probable factors speak to strength training's many benefits. "You also gain lean muscle, which further boosts your metabolism. Plus, resistance training increases energy and shows results quickly, and people instinctively build on that momentum. So you eat a little bit better or walk your dog a little longer—and it adds up fast" (Southerland, J. B. (2015, June). Transform your body in just 10 minutes a day. Prevention. REFLECTIONS:
After thirty years of marriage, I can almost tell you what my wife will say in a given situation. Over a period of time of being with a person, there’s no question that you get to a point where you can almost tell just what he or she is thinking. Even when that person is not around, you can hear that person’s voice in your mind. Our relationship with Christ can be much the same. Spend enough time with Him, and you will learn of His heart, have more understanding of what He thinks, and even get to where you can hear His words in your mind. There may be times when, due to circumstances, it is harder to hear His voice. Yet, His voice remains a familiar one to those who follow Him. As Jesus prayed, He asked the Father that we might be one with Him even as He was one with the Father. Just as the voice of the Father was familiar to Jesus, the voice of Jesus can be also to us--a very familiar voice” (Chambers, R. (2015, May 22). A voice of familiarity [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

Think of this verse with us as sheep and Jesus as our Shepard; we are supposed to follow our Shepard's voice without being distracted by "strangers" - rather the enemy. But how can we know our Father's voiceWhen the Bible uses the tern "know" it's a reference to intimacy between people. That being said, to know Yahweh, to know Jesus and to know the Holy Spirit, we need to be intimate with Him: our walk needs to be strong - we need to keep our eyes stayed on the Word; we need to pray without ceasing; we need to fellowship so that His voice is unmistakably dominate in our lives. Spend MUCH time getting to KNOW Yahweh so that you can be a good sheep and follow the voice of familiarity.

Also, aside from my physical ailments, I ask for you to pray that Yahweh delivers soon. I encourage you to continue praying for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you or someone you know would like to get involved in giving back to the community, donations may be made year-round to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… getting into shape and eating healthy is a process that won't happen overnight. I speak from experience, trying to develop a lifestyle change shouldn't be attempted in a "cold turkey" fashion; take little steps and gradually progress. When you work on your eating habits begin by altering the types of food you consume: eat baked instead of fried, eat lean instead of fatty, add more veggies and fruit. Don't try to stop eating bad, work on eating better. You don't have to go hard like a health nut; try healthy alternative foods, fruits, veggies, smoothies, etc. until you have determined what you like best and what you can and cannot tolerate. Otherwise, you're destined for failure. Remember that you don't have to eat bland or tasteless foods to eat healthier, you just have to choose the right foods, prepare them in a healthier manner, and consume the proper portions. And if exercise hasn't ever been your thing, start by walking after dinner or during your lunch break; you can do a quick 10-minute workout daily until you get accustomed to the daily activity, then increase your routine at your own pace. Yet, if your true reason behind living a healthier lifestyle isn't for self-improvement, then I doubt you'll have much success; your desire for change MUST be genuine, otherwise you'll lack the dedication it requires to render desirable results.

REFLECTIONS:
Our lives have purpose, and we as Christians know that that purpose must be found in Christ. But finding that purpose is no easy task. Too many things can distract us from where we should be. We may be trying to find our niche for life tomorrow, when God wants to reveal His purpose for us today. His will for our today may not be His will for our tomorrowIf He calls one of us to be a Preacher for our today, and a cab driver for our tomorrow, what is that to us? Our responsibility is to be within His will whatever that may be. We discredit God and ourselves when we strive for a path other than the one He has chosen for us. We discredit ourselves by trying to force ourselves to do something we're just not cut out for. The end result is that we make ourselves miserable, trying to fit a mold of what we think we should be, when we just need to be what God made us to be” (Chambers, R. (2015, May 18). Fit for today [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

This lesson is one we've visited many times. It is feasible to consider your next move, but have you considered why you truly want to go down that particular path? Your reasoning behind making decisions should NOT involve the desire of praise from other people (e.g. fame); your desire to seek a specific career path should NOT be for the gain of fortune - don't get me wrong, we need money to survive, but if that becomes your motivation remember that the Word warns that "money is the root of ALL evil" (refer to I Timothy 6:10); if your decision to get fit or to alter your appearance was inspired by other people or someone specific, then you probably shouldn't go that route. You may want to reevaluate your TRUE reasoning behind EVERY decision you have considered but have not made yetFirst off, determine whether or not the decision is one you want to make for yourself, be it a personal desire or for self improvement. Second, figure out the pros and cons of the decision in question. Third, take that decision to Yahweh and ASK HIM to reveal the correct path. Fourth, BE STILL and wait for Yahweh to guide you, and lastly, take heed - OBEY - His direction.

PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Yahweh we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Yahweh, we submit Richard and Tye up in prayer, thanking you in advance for intervening in their lives to provide them with comfort, strength, deliverance, healing, and restoration needed in every facet of their lives. More especially Father, we ask that your will be done to ensure that Richard, Tye, and their respective families are abundantly blessed. Thanks for blessing each of us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. Speaking the truth in Love (6/16/2015)

Hello everyone, I pray all is well. I apologize about yesterday's SOD being distributed via e-mail with the wrong date, that's my bad. Anyway, despite its length and redundancy of announcements, one of the more pertinent aspects of the SOD is the Prayer of the DayI encourage you to always read this prayer, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying forPRAYER REQUESTS: I have been experiencing quite a few ailments that I'm somewhat being treated for, but since I prefer a holistic approach, I haven't yet found a solution to combat my nagging pains. My prayer request is for Yahweh to heal and provide comfort in the meantime. Also, continue to pray for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps).
Change begins within… Personally, I believe that holistic medicine and spiritual healing far supersede any treatment that man can offer. That being said, I encourage you to do some research on the benefits of natural cures/remedies, and consider switching out your over-the-counter (OTC) medications and/or prescribed medications with herbal supplements that have proven results. My parents, brother, and I have been taking natural medicine vs. OTC and prescribed medicines for a variety of ailments ranging from TMJD, joint pain, anxiety, high cholesterol, thyroid, and diabetes. In addition, adding infused water to combat certain ailments such as bad indigestion or to increase your metabolism, may prove beneficial as well. Some natural remedies include but are not limited to the following:
  • Kava Kava - treats pain
  • Olive Leaf & Oregano Oil - natural antibiotics and preventive medicine
  • Benadryl - helps with anxiety and sleep issues without addictive qualities
  • Omega 3 - assists with joint rejuvenation
  • Lemon, cucumber & mint water - combats indigestion
  • Cayenne pepper & apple cider vinegar water - helps balance your insulin levels
  • Cayenne pepper & cinnamon - help boost your metabolism (cinnamon also helps balance insulin)

Juicing via a juice extractor or smoothie is also a great way to boost your immune system and get essential vitamins in the most effective way. My brother had bought my mom a Nutra Bullet that came with a recipe book for smoothies that target various ailments; my brother is diabetic and at the time, my mom was dealing with some cholesterol issues. After they began consuming their target smoothies, they saw a major improvement in their health. My dad however, loves using the juice extractor, and when he juices regularly, he boasts of feeling more energetic. I prefer to use a smoothie blender; juicing keeps me regular, provides more energy than say a cup of coffee, and appears to boost my immune system. Try some remedies after doing your own research, and find what works best for you.

REFLECTIONS:
Our words are powerful. They can be used to encourage and edify, or they can be used to attack and humiliate. We often forget the power of the spoken word, and are all too often careless with what is said. Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:36, "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." He also said, "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man" (Matthew 15:11). With every spoken word comes a great responsibility in the administration of a word. This is not to make us overly anxious, or overly self conscious. But it is to make us take care in what comes out of our mouths, that our mouths become nurturing rivers of life, and not loose cannons” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 16). Strong words [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

“In describing the mature Christian, Paul says that one of the marks is "speaking the truth in love"... Some of us are fairly good at speaking the truth, but we forget to be loving. Some of us are good at being loving, but we don't have it in us to level with others if the truth is painful. The instruction here is to do both: Speak the truth, but do so in a loving manner...” (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Ephesians. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 4:15 (pp. 1786). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

How much better would our relationships and associations with others be if we followed this practice? Think about it, is there a relationship or connection that was lost because you decided not to sit down with the other party to tactfully discuss the issue? It would be much more beneficial for us to have an adult conversation or an age-appropriate conversation with someone we are at odds with, rather than to perpetuate the situation with petty feuding or a tit for tat approach; the longer we allow a situation to go unaddressed, the more we allow resentment and strife to build-up. As the situation continues to negatively fester, our opportunity for resolve decreasesWould you rather lovingly tell your significant other about the true troubles in your relationship, or would you rather risk pushing one another away through pent-up frustration from lack of communication? Is it better to allow your child to be disruptive and reckless, than to lovingly tell him/her how and why they should improve their behavior? Is it more beneficial to lose contact with an associate who you aren't seeing eye-to-eye with, or to have a sit-down to tactfully discuss how to effectively address each of your concerns? Why cut off ties with someone you love or care for? Why dismiss a potentially great professional relationship, when the answer is most likely "speaking the truth in love"? I know that sometimes there is no repairing certain relationships and/or associations, but is it Christ-like to make that decision without having first made a genuine attempt to find a solution? We should forgive others and STOP holding onto petty grudges. We should regularly practice "speaking the truth in love" so that if or when we have reached the conclusion that a relationship or association cannot be salvaged, we have made every Godly effort to repair what was damaged.

Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. This is our affirmation of faith Yahweh, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Yahweh Ponders the Hearts (6/15/2015)

Hello everyone, I hope yall had a wonderful weekend. If not, then perhaps you blamed your “bad” day(s) on someone or something, rather than accepting accountability for your position of control over how YOU chose to react and respond to your given situation(s). Anyway, despite its length and redundancy of announcements, one of the more pertinent aspects of the SOD it the Prayer of the Day; I encourage you to always read this prayer, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying for. PRAYER REQUESTS: As always, pray for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank God for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). PRAISE REPORT: Since I haven’t yet received any of your testimonies, let me share a general one of my own… I will not go into detail just yet, but I want to give honor and glory to Yahweh, because it is He that provides even in the midst of doubt. He may not always answer or show up when I would hope, but during my unemployment and transition as self-employed, God – Yahweh – has been the Rock that has kept me standing. ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you or someone you know would like to be somewhat involved in community affairs, donations may be made year-round to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). ALL registrations must be updated ANNUALLY, so if your rewards card was previously enrolled, my request is that you resubmit your registration each year. Your continued support is always appreciated. Please keep spreading the word.

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… First I would like to share with you that I AM NO HEALTH GURU, I am however, someone who wants to live a healthier lifestyle; I too benefit from these healthy living tips. Never let anyone discourage your goal to be betterif you want to quit smoking, YOU CAN! If you want to stop drinking, YOU CAN! You want to be slimmer or tone up but you think you’re too old, or have dealt with obesity your whole life but haven’t found a system that worksYOU CAN achieve ANY goal you set your mind to with Yahweh, as long as it falls in line with His will. Does the Bible not say that the body is a temple (refer to I Corinthians 6:19)? Then should we not also seek out ways to improve this temple to glorify the Lord (see I Corinthians 6:20)? If a 92 y/o can compete on stage dancing salsa with her 29 y/o grandson, a 76 y/o man can compete in bodybuilding competitions, a woman dropped from 287 lbs. to 125 lbs. and a man dropped 270 lbs. – naturally, then YOU CAN TOO! These are real stories, just Google them. My grandma was an alcoholic and a chain smoker for many years, but she quit both bad habits and was sober for several years prior to her death. I also have a few close friends and family members who quit smoking too; CHANGE IS POSSIBLE! Do NOT give up on your aspirations for healthy living. Do some research and find out the best approach for YOU. There is NO SUCH THING as a “one size fits all” approach to life, so do NOT be fooled. What works for the next man or woman may not be what will work for you. It’s called “trial and error”. There is however a general approach to taking steps that will lead to a healthier lifestyle – you need to kick bad habits: eat more fruits and vegetables; exchange junk food for healthy and/or organic snacks such as almonds instead of potato chips and Greek yogurt instead of doughnuts; take a walk or do a quick exercise to combat your urge to smoke; drink a carbonated flavored water or 100% apple juice to curb your desire for drinking liquor; try doing exercise moves such as sit-ups, lunges, and/or squats during your favorite show or commercial breaks; you can participate in a community service event or church activities instead of engaging in reckless behavior or surrounding yourself with reckless individuals. There is so much that can be done to achieve a healthier lifestyle, but refusing to make the necessary steps for change is NOT one of them.

Have a blessed rest of the week.

Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PASSAGE – PROVERBS 21:1:
“The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”

REFLECTIONS:
How could Joseph being sold into bondage, and then thrown into a jail be a good thing? How could Daniel going into the lion’s den be a good thing? How could Peter denying Christ be a good thing? We do not consider it within God's will that we do wrong, or are wronged, only that God's will is larger and that He, knowing the path of us all, works all things together despite our circumstances, or our waywardness. God's will is never crippled by our sin or bad choices – neither is it detoured. If He, foreseeing the best good, and knowing the rebellion of humanity, chooses to draw such things to a conclusion of His making, then nothing escapes His will – even though not all were acting in accordance with His will. God's will is larger than the snapshot we get for today. His will spans people, places and time. He sees what He will make from what He has. In God's eyes, it is the coming together, not to an end – but for a beginning” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 13). God’s unusurped will [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

“In Soloman’s day, kings possessed absolute authority and were often considered to be like gods. This proverb shows that God has ultimate authority over world rulers…” (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Proverbs. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 21:1 (pp. 945). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

First, if you’re wondering why I have started using “Yahweh”, it is because this is God’s personal name; much like Barack Obama’s title is president, Yahweh is God – He is Lord. In your Bible, you may have noticed that the term “Lord” is always capitalized; the reason signifies the use of God’s personal name, Yahweh, in the Hebrew text. So, since I want to obtain and maintain a closer relationship with God, I will call Him by name – Yahweh – you may address Him however is most comfortable to you. Now back to this lesson, verse 1 above refers to the kings of that time being unaware of God’s authority over them; verse 2 however says, “Every way of man is right in his own eyes; but the Lord pondereth the hearts.” The current sermon series at my church is about and entitled Decisions; we tend to find excuses for doing almost anything, and 9 times out of 10, those excuses are deceitful “a little bit of truth mixed with error” to establish an acceptable reason why what we have chosen to do is a good decision. The reality is that the erroneous portion of our reasoning, defaults any goodness in any choice we make. If we are not accessing the TRUE MOTIVES of our hearts, and comparing those motives to see if they fall in line with the Word, then how can we be assured that we are pleasing Yahweh? If our deeds are done with selfish intentions, then they are null and void. If our decisions and actions do not fall in line with the Word, then be assured that we cannot possibly think them to be satisfying to Yahweh. That being said, think about your every action and decision – consider your motives; ask Yahweh for direction, and then BE STILL and allow Him to show you the way. Through the Word, you will find answers to every confusing element of life; the Word is our guideline – our GPS – take heed!
