Words of the Wise (9/30/11)

Greetings Everyone,
It's the week's end... YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! My favorite time of the week - the END. Ha! Ha! Anywho, I pray that your weekend be one filled with relaxation and joy. I thank God in advance for allowing us to return again next week in fellowship. Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every circumstance and do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."

Proverbs 12:14 says, "A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth, and the recompense of a man’s hands will be rendered to him." Basically, by the very words we speak out of our mouth, we will either be satisfied or disappointed in life. "He who speaks truth declares righteousness..." (Proverbs 12:17). We've already established that GOD's WORD is TRUTH! God's word says inProverbs 12:18, "Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing." This here warns us that people, including ourselves, can make statements of negativity that are damaging to our prosperity, our mental state, and our overall well being. But "the words of the wise bring healing." We learned that God's word is wisdom (refer to Proverbs 2), so if we are saying what the word says, and speaking and praying our desired outcomes as they fall in line with the word of God, then we are the "wise." Some of us desire God to fill a void, yet we are still speaking and praying the problem, not the answer - believers, using their tongues to destroy their faith. Faith cannot work when doubt is in the midst of it. You are holding Yourself in bondage by speaking those NEGATIVE things that be not as though they were, because God's word says that you can have what you say if you believe without a doubt. You are confessing the problem, because you are allowing yourself to walk by sight and not by faith, thus, those things that you speak are the logic of this world and not Christian sense. It is through Your very own words that You establish failure or success in your life. The only ability the devil has over You, is to DECEIVE You. Establish what God has already prepared for You, by speaking His promises into existence in Your own life. Surrender all to God, and STOP allowing the enemy to convince You to settle for negativity. "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). The word says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we thank you for your protection, love, grace, and forgiveness. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding, for bringing all those things that were once in the dark into the light, and for bringing clarity to some much needed decisions that we've been waiting for your approval to make. We thank you for keeping us filled with the Spirit, that our tongue may be tamed, only to formulate words to speak that are good to edifying that they may minister grace to the hearer. Father God we thank you for our healing, restoration, deliverance, and mended hearts. We thank you for the strength to keep moving forward with a new attitude and gratitude, we thank you for the great and bad moments that help mold us into better examples of what it means to be a child of Christ. We thank you for your breath of life, and for providing yourself as a refuge when we have no where else to turn. We thank you for not turning your back on us, even when we lose hope in you. We thank you for a renewed mind, and for relieving us of our debts by providing our every need as well as the desires of our heart, that fall in line with your word and will. We ask ultimately, and thank you, that your will be done, and for the victory of it all. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen!

Word produce after their kind (9/29/11)

Greetings Everyone,
Sorry about yesterday, I took one of my 12 hour naps, LOL. I had my alarm set to wake me up at 8pm and although I do recall the alarm sounding, it is quite evident that I didn't actually get out of bed, hence the absence of yesterday's SOD. But today, I have an appointment that I thought was at 0945 but it's actually at 1145, so I figured I have some time to work on the scripture before I leave the house. I want to start today off by commanding satan, his demons, and evil spirits to flee... "enemy, be thou removed in the name of Jesus, I give permission for God's angels and Holy Spirit to surround and fill each of us with your presence this day, is my confession in the name of Jesus, Amen." Continue to pray and speak your desired outcome into every circumstance and do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity.

"The words of the wicked lie in wait for blood, but the speech of the upright rescues them" (Proverbs 12:6)Our deliverance, our salvation, our healing, and our restoration is as close as the mouth. The words that we formulate with our tongue, controls what we speak in faith or fear. All of those things I just mentioned, God already provided through the blood of the Lamb, but we must CONFESS with our mouth, and BELIEVE in our heart (spirit), before we can receive these blessings. Words produce after their kind, so if allz you speak is negativity, then so shall that follow you. Again, I challenge you to sit back and reflect on the unfavorable things that have occurred in your life. Then, reflect on your comments prior to those events and/or after. What could you have said differently, that would have influenced a better mood and attitude toward your circumstance? I know that it is not logical to the mind of flesh, to "speak those things that be not as though they were," but that is the rationale of Christian sense - this makes sense to a Christian, because our belief system is based on what we cannot see; we "walk by faith not by sight." They say that after 15 consecutive days of doing something, it becomes habitual, so if we are speaking our affirmations on a DAILY basis, and studying God's word each day, then those things will become a part of us. We will NOT have to try to convince ourselves that the power in our words is real, we will KNOW and TRUST that we have the ability, simply because God's word says we do. But also be mindful that the closer you become with Christ, the harder the enemy will try to break you down. STOP him in his tracks, make him FLEE before he can even influence a reaction out of you. Canton Jones has a song with a chorus that says, "I'ma stay saved." He goes through various circumstances that one would be tempted to fight, curse, or just get down right ignorant. For example, he says, "when I go to the refrigerator and somebody done ate my sweet potato pie, I'ma stay saved." I used that verse because at my job, some people eat your lunch and drink your juice even with your name labeled on it, and it is frustrating to go 8 hours without a snack at least. So if your mouth was watering for some pie, and you get to the fridge only to find it gone, you may be tempted to use some vulgarity, or maybe that's just me. Anyway,God intends on us not to simply read His word, but to study it, and become one with it, so that we are wise in the word and abide by it. Joshua 1:8 says, "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." If we are one with the word, then ALL we do will be according to God's will. We will speak, think, act, and react, in a manner that is pleasing to our Father in Heaven. Success in the eyes of the world, will have you seeking monetary gain, high professional titles, high end fashion, cars, etc. just to maintain respect from your peers or persons in a higher class than you. But if our ultimate goal is to maintain our place in Heaven, then our search for "success" should be only in those things that are pleasing to the Lord, NOT the world's temporal standards. Success in God's eyes is eternal, so stay fixed on God's word and His will, abide by His commands, and only speak what God's word says, do NOT speak or pray contrary to the word of God unless you want your prayers to be in vain and your desires not to be fulfilledIt is through Your very own words that You establish failure or success in your life. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for our goings and comings, the good and bad moments of life. We thank you for our failures and triumphs Father, because we know that all these things have enhanced our growth and influenced our relationship with you for the better. We thank you for the strength to keep moving forward, the ability to make the enemy flee, and the authority in our words to claim healing, peace, deliverance, restoration, and salvation. We thank you that in the name of Jesus, we can claim these things and receive them through faith. We thank you for the victory over our previous and present battles, as well as those to come. We thank you for success in your eyes Father, success in living a life that falls in line with your word and will for us individually and specifically. We thank you for your continued protection, necessary revelations and endings, exciting beginnings, forgiveness, grace and mercy. We thank you for the ability and strength to forgive those who have wronged us, but to also forgive ourselves. Although illogical to the mind of flesh, we thank you for the ability to be like you and forget the matters of our lives and memories that cannot be changed or altered; we thank you for helping us to move forward. This is our confession in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Words Work (9/27/11)

Greetings Everyone,
So, I started school today. I am excited. I would like to think that I will be done with school after I complete this Masters degree program, but I'm almost certain that I'm going to be a life student. SMH... unless of course, God starts to bless me with some babies instead, LOL. Anyway, keep my success a part of your positive affirmations through Christ, thanks in advance. Ok so, I told yall I've been following the Why Opposites Attract II Series from my church online, and boy oh boy, let me tell you... I watched the 2nd lesson from the 17th (Part 8) tonight, it's such a phenomenal series. The pastor talked about radio active relationships. Bad relationships are those we can walk away from and move on, but radio active relationships leave a bad taste in our mouths - following us around wherever we go, in turn, turning us into radio active people. He reveals characteristics of a radio active person and how he/she may be in a relationship. Check it out, Why Opposites Attract II series at http://www.mtrubidouxsda.org/article.php?id=13, perhaps you are or have been the radio active person in your relationship or maybe it was your mate, either way, you either need to run or get help, seriously. In the meantime, keep praying and speaking your desired outcome into every circumstance and do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity.

Words have the ability to work for you just as they did for Jesus. Your words can either work for or against you, whether you realize that or not. This is one of my favorite parts of The Tongue - A Creative Force; we've reached the part of the book, where Mr. Capps explains to us, how innocently spoken words can work against us. The best example I have is, when someone says something funny, and you are telling the story to someone else and say, "he had me dying." Or perhaps, someone is really getting on your nerves, your natural response is, "you're killing me." Although these things are commonly spoken out of the mouth, without any thought as to how those words manifest in our lives, this is vocabulary that was programmed by the devil; this perverse language brings forth sickness, disease, havoc, and sometimes death into our lives. That is the very "perverse" speech that the Bible warned us about in Proverbs 4:24 which says, "Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips." Death is of the devil, thus, this type of language is contrary to the word of God. Hebrews 2:14 says, "Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death." "Then death and the grave were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death" (Revelation 20:14). We are all destined for death someday, but don't allow your very own words to send you to an early grave. The people back in the Bible days spoke life into their circumstances - they spoke the Word of God into existence, and lived up to 900 years. But our generations over the years, have allowed the devil to program death and negativity into our lives, shortening our life span to an average of 65 y/o. People are speaking cancer, and other terminal illnesses into their own lives by their very own words. But we serve a God who can say "Yes" when our doctors say "no." I recall an older lady gave a testimony at Breath of Life Seventh-Day Adventist church one Sabbath, and she spoke of having cancer, and being healing by her FAITH in God's ability - she accepted the stripes of Jesus and claimed her healing in His name, and was HEALED, just as the word says in I Peter 2:24. "The fears of the wicked will be fulfilled; the hopes of the godly will be granted" (Proverbs 10:24)Our fears activate satan's abilities, but FAITH will bring Christ on the scene. Job had everything, and in a blink of an eye, his wealth, his health, and his family were taken from him as a result of his fears. Job 3:25 says, "What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true." Yet, he brought Christ on the scene through his faith and faithfulness amidst the trials. If you speak the word of God in faith, then it is a product of your heart. A spirit programmed by the word of God, will encourage the formation of words from your mouth that fall in line with the word of God, are backed by faith, and honestly trust and DOUBT NOT God's ability and authority through your words to speak your desired outcome into existence. The key is believing and accepting that the answer to your prayer has already manifested. DO NOT ALLOW words that contradict God's promise to depart from your mouth, ever. Remember that it is through Your very own words that You establish failure or success in your life. God's word says, "speak those things that be not, as though they were" (Romans 4:17). Repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord we thank you for your grace and mercy. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. Father God we thank you for the knowledge that satan is a deceiver, and for the ability in our words alone to defeat the enemy. We thank you for your continued love, grace, and protection. We thank you for the ability to smile when we are hurting. We thank you for revealing what darkness has kept undercover. We thank you for providing clarity in the midst of satan's confusion. We thank you for the victory over sin, defeat over the enemy, and deliverance from a heavy load of burdens. We thank you for the strength to keep on keeping on, and the power of our words to make the devil flee. We thank you for reversing all the negative and restoring complete positivity into every facet of our lives. We thank you for keeping us filled with the Spirit, that the words that depart our mouth, no longer posses corruption, rather, our words now speak life into every circumstance. These things we claim and thank you for, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

God's Word is Wisdom (9/26/11)

Greetings Everyone,
I hope yall had a great weekend. Praise God that we are reunited in again in fellowship. Fellowship is so essential to our growth as Christians; the encouragement and knowledge enhances with each meeting and with every testimony, which is why it is so important for us not only to share amongst ourselves, but to also share the Word with others. It's been heavy on my heart to encourage the parents out there, struggling to maintain and/or develop a healthy and cordial relationship with the father or mother of their child/children. I want to encourage those of you with this type of issue, to keep your head up and trust in God. Stop trying to do things your way and have faith in God that He can provide in them a changed heart. Do NOT allow your baby's father or baby's mother to have any authority in your life, and do NOT allow them to dictate your relationship with your child/children. Allow them to be ignorant alone. Kill evil with kindness; no matter what types of plots and schemes they throw your way, do NOT allow them to steal your joy. Do NOT go back and forth in a tit for tat manner, rather do as Jesus would do, and place the ball in their court. You continue to raise your children/child accordingly, and allow them to continue on in their foolishness, ALONE! Remember that YOU have the authority of God in YOUR WORDS, to speak and pray peace, and positivity into your life. And that goes for everyone, if we stand firm in the word of God, we can take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and restore the years we've spent in tears, all by the words we form with our tongue and speak out of mouth, through the name of the Son, Jesus Christ. Also, again I want yall to really get a chance to check out the Why Opposites Attract II series at http://www.mtrubidouxsda.org/article.php?id=13, it's really an eye-opener for the single people and even those who are in a marriage or committed relationship. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity.

I have heard people make the statement that "the Old Testament was nailed to the cross with Jesus." But the Ten Commandments are in the Old Testament, right? So How does that work exactly? Are we to forget the guidelines that God has provided us through His prophets, because they are in the "old" testament? Can anyone tell me which scripture says that? God warns that we are to follow His commands and assures us that His word is truth, so are they telling me it's now false because it's history? I think NOT! The only things that were nailed to the cross with Jesus are illness, and our sins. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (I Peter 2:24). Proverbs 4:20-23 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Take a moment to reflect on the words that you allow to slip from your mouth... we've learned through God's word that, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34)So if what you are speaking is negativity, which is a product of the adversary NOT to be associated with the Word of God, then your heart - your spirit, is in dire need of some spiritual uplifting. It is imperative to fix your eyes on the word of God, to become one with the word, to pray continuously, and to gain and maintain intimacy with the Lord. We need to concentrate on the desires that fall in line with the word of God, so that our pursuit isn't self-seeking, rather on the path of righteousness, leaving NO room for the distractions of sinProverbs 4:24 says, "Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips." Basically, You need to STOP speaking contrary to the word of God, because the Word is wisdom. "... you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (II Timothy 3:15)"All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right" (II Timothy 3:16). Lots of folk like to question the Word of God due to the various translations of the Bible, making statements such as "the Bible has been tampered with, therefore its credibility is questionable." But if "ALL scripture if INSPIRED BY GOD," then the Word is TRUSTWORTHY. Not to mention, if these people making such claims took time to study the translations themselves, then they would be able to see that although the verbiage may vary, THE MESSAGE REMAINS THE SAME. In order to turn God's word into WISDOM in our lives, we must read itstudy it, and apply it DAILY. Most jobs have a list of regulations and policy to go by, so if someone is uncertain as to what their responsibilities are, they can refer to those guidelines. Well, the Bible holds the guidelines and regulations for knowledge, wisdom, understanding, love, and salvation. The Bible teaches us how we should live as Christians. When the enemy tries to test us through our many trials, and temptations, the Bible acts as a source of regulations - policies that show us what is acceptable by Christ and what is not. So if someone is saying something does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT something we should be devoting our time, energy, or focus on. Read and study God's Words of Wisdom regularly, that all passages will become familiar, so that upon the adversary's challenges, you are knowledgeable enough to shut him down and "stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place" (Ephesians 4:16). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we come to you, thanking you for another day of life. We thank you for the wisdom, knowledge, and the peace that passeth all understanding, that is you Father. We thank you for your continued guidance and revelation of your will. We thank you for removing the covers that once shaded certain circumstances in our lives. We thank you for the ability in our words to reverse the negativity that once was in our lives, for the authority to speak life and claim healing in your name Father. Lord we thank you for the changed hearts in those stubborn fathers and mothers, who are creating an unnecessary strain on forming needed relationships with the other parent, to cooperate on working toward the best interest of the children who are in the middle of the drama. Lord we thank you for unity in our homes, peace in our heart, clarity in our mind, and restoration in our total body. We thank you for filling us with your Spirit, that our tongue is now tamed, praying and speaking nothing into existence that is contrary to your Word, Hallelujah! Rather, only speaking those things that are good to edifying, that they may minister to the hearer. We thank you for the ability to live each day with a new attitude and new gratitude toward a life lived according to your will. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank you now for the victory, Amen!

CONFESS God's Word (9/23/11)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I hope yall have a blessed and productive weekend. I praise God now for His protection over us, and for reuniting us again in fellowship next week. As I continue to pray for you, please remember to pray for me as well. Also, pray for others with the same passion that you would pray for yourself and your loved ones. But remember, we are praying, speaking, and thanking God for our desired results, NOT confessing the problem that once WAS. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity.

Jesus is the living Word of God; The Lord and the Word are one, you cannot separate the two. John 1:1 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."Jesus tells us in Matthew 10:32 that, "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." The Word and Jesus being one implies, that if we share the Gospel with others, proud to be active Christians, then Jesus will remember us before the Father God. We submit our prayers to God through the Son Jesus; as we profess our faith in the Lord, and abide by His teachings, Jesus ensures an audience before our Heavenly Father. I John 5:15 says, "And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." As long as You are praying and CONFESSING God's word in FAITH, then rest assured that Your prayers will be heard and answered. However, understand that it is imperative to form a personal relationship with God first. Being a Christian means to be Christ-like at ALL times. Yeah, let me be the first to admit that this is NO easy task, but COMMIT to it anyway, the same way Jesus committed to a self-sacrificial offering to save our sins. Once you have made the CHOICE to follow God wholeheartedly, then your prayers will not revolve around self, rather they will automatically petition things that fall in line with the word of God. If your prayer is for material gain, monetary wealth, and for things of this sinful world, then those are probably NOT things that God has set aside for you in His PERFECT plan. Now don't misunderstand me, I am NOT telling you that God doesn't want to supply you with these types of blessings. I am simply saying that our prayers must ultimately be submitted humbly, requesting that GOD'S WILL BE DONE, and TRUSTING that HE will bless your every NEED according to HIS PERFECT PLAN FOR THE BETTER. Our personal desires are NOT always what is BEST for us. When we confess negativity and pray in unbelief, then we are releasing faith in undesired results and denying God before man. His word says, "But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 10:33)How can you say that you trust God, yet doubt His ability to answer your prayers? Either you are still absorbed in self and your prayers do not fall in line with the Word of God, or perhaps it is NOT time for your prayer to be answered. The answer to our prayers will come in GOD'S TIME. Sometimes we need to endure trials for an extended period of time because, we may have missed the lesson we were to learn, or we need to be completely broken so that we can fully receive our blessings. It is necessary for some of us to endure an extended trial because, we have allowed our mind and heart to be clouded by the adversary's deceit, and have convinced ourselves that we can get through our trials alone. In the midst of our struggle, we may have forgotten to bow down and pray; trials bring God's chosen representatives back to Him one way or another, and when we give God our undivided attention, we will have a testimony that can speak volumes to someone who is lost to this world, but NOT first without withstanding and passing our test. Read Hebrews chapter 3 in its entirety, it warns against unbelief. "See to it, brothers, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly till the end the confidence we had at first" (Hebrews 3:12-14)It is our DUTY to share God's word with others, in FAITH and FAITHFULNESS, meaning we do NOT go astray at the first sign of trouble. We must TRUST that God's Word is TRUTH, and despite our obstacles, REMAIN in the Word and ABIDE by it. "If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you" (John 15:7) We have begun to PRAY and SPEAK our DESIRED OUTCOMES because the Word of God says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" (Mark 11:24). But if You are praying in unbelief, the things that the enemy has convinced you are impossible, then Jesus will "deny" you before the Father; your prayers will NEVER get to Heaven and will NOT be heard by God if they do not fall in line with His Word. Ephesians 6:17-18 says, "Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying..." Be moved by what God's word says; speak ONLY what the Word says, STOP agreeing with the enemy, and "speak those things that be not as though they were." (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God, we thank you for supplying all of our needs according to your riches in glory. We confess that we have abundance, there is no lack. We have all sufficiency of all things, the Word says we do, and we thank you Father for it. Therefore, we give this confession in faith, knowing that you will cause it to come to us in the name of Jesus. Lord we thank you for the victory over sin, the defeat over the enemy, and deliverance from the shackles that once held us captive by the devil's deceit. We thank you for the renewing of our mind, that we are able to see your truth, and accept the blessings that come through our trials. We thank you for the revelation that negativity is contrary to your word, and the ability to defeat satan's negatives with the authority in our words, and prayers, that fall in line with your word and will for us Father. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will proper, and no matter how huge our mountain may seem, we thank you for the confidence and trust in your promise that if we confess with our mouth, and command the mountain to be removed, so shall it be through the very words of our own mouth, in faith. Father God we thank you, we thank you, we thank you, for not being like man. We thank you for never turning your back on us, even when we gave up on you. Thank you for bringing us back to you Father, for providing a way through your Son Jesus, and for loving us unconditionally. Lord, we've never known a love so genuine, so true, and so sustaining, we thank you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
