Keep Good Company (5/24/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! Today I came home and made me a vita-mixer juice, and called myself taking a nap, but my alarm didn't wake me up. So, no workout today, matter of fact I didn't stick any parts of my schedule, but I still have so much to do before the night is completely up. GRRRRRR! Anyway, I hope yall have a wonderful holiday weekend, today is the start of mine, so I may not join yall tomorrow. Therefore I pray for your safety now, and encourage yall to prioritize and be responsible this weekend. God willing, may we reunite on Tuesday. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Proverbs 26:24-26 says, "People may cover their hatred with pleasant words, but they’re deceiving you. They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils. While their hatred may be concealed by trickery, their wrongdoing will be exposed in public." This passage is like the saying, "everything that's in the dark will come to light." You ever experienced a relationship in which your significant other put on such a good facade, that he or she persuaded not only you, but everyone in your circle was convinced that he or she was your perfect mate? People who have ill and malice intentions, which are formed in their spirit, will eventually let their guard down; the cover will be removed and his or her mask will eventually fade away. The pleasantries will gradually be exposed as the impostors they are. This is why the Bible warns, "Don’t be fooled by those who say such things, for "bad company corrupts good character'" (1 Corinthians 15:33)"Keeping company with those who deny the resurrection could corrupt good Christian character. Don't let your relationships with unbelievers lead you away from Christ or cause your faith to waver" (Reference: The Life Application Study Bible New International Version. (1991). 1 Corinthians Chapter 15 - Footnotes (p. 2087). Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for life, health, and strength. Lord God we thank you for our goings and comings, our ups and our downs, because we know that with every good and bad moment in life comes a testimony that is essential to someone else's growth. We thank you for providing a much needed revelation, by removing the cover from those things and people who have deceived us. We thank you for keeping us filled with your presence and for keeping us surrounded by your angels and Holy Spirit at all times, that we may be protected from the adversary's attack, and from all forms of hurt, harm, danger, and evil. We thank you for picking us up when we have fallen, and for blessing us individually, according to our specific need and your will for our lives. We bless your name Father and will praise you all the days of our lives. Father God we thank you for providing safe travel graces for those of us traveling this holiday weekend, for opening the eyes and hearts of the lost, for providing clarity to the confused, and comfort for those suffering. We acknowledge you as our Almighty Lord and Savior, and we thank you in advance for victory and defeat over sin. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Paralyzed Proverbs (5/23/12)

Greetings Everyone,
I'm sleepy today, so let's get right into the lesson.

Proverbs 26:6-7 says, "Trusting a fool to convey a message is like cutting off one’s feet or drinking poison! A proverb in the mouth of a fool is as useless as a paralyzed leg." I personally find this passage to be quite self explanatory... "A proverb is such a saying popularly known and repeated, usually expressing simply and concretely, though often metaphorically, a truth based on common sense or the practical experience of humankind" (Dictionary.com). In the mouth of a fool, a proverb is like the disfunction of a paralyzed limb; a fool is blinded and deaf by his or her own ignorance, unreceptive to wisdom and incapable of sharing knowledge obtained. So, from the lesson of yesterday, in an event that you encounter an individual's foolery, ignore him or her, do not take their rants seriously or to stoop to his or her level, otherwise, you yourself are no better than he or she.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for taming our tongue so that the words of our mouth may always be pleasing in your sight, and will always produce positive and favorable outcomes in every circumstance. Lord we thank you for complete healing that has restored our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical state of being. We thank you for joyful attitudes in the midst of adversity, cheerful moods in the face of the enemy, peace in our storms, and comfort through our trials. We thank you for your continued protection over each of us individually, our families, our friends, our homes, pets, our modes of transportation, and those homes and families in our surrounding areas. We praise your name, thanking you that our burdens, debts, and obstacles are no longer holding us hostage. We thank you for releasing any form of bondage previously holding us back from a deeper relationship with you, and for giving us the freedom to raise our hands humbly in praise to you. We thank you for the victory over sin, satan, and his demons. In the matchless name of your Son Jesus Christ, we submit our affirmation of faith, Amen!

Kill'em with Kindness (5/22/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I guess I stayed up too late last night, because I inadvertently shut off my alarm at 3:15 a.m. when it sounded, and was then waken up by the sound of my news update alarm at 4:25 a.m. (5 mins before I need to be out my house), which updates me on the weather, and hot topics in news. Aside from that, I went shopping for groceries after work for some healthy snacks and veggies to use my vita-mix blender to make healthy juice. Since I have been working out, I decided to purchase some Muscle Milk protein powder as a boost to my liquid salads, as I like to call'em, HUGE mistake. That stuff was gross to the 10th degree. The after taste is still there, ugh! Anyway, continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome.

Yesterday we covered how our mind, our mouth, and our tongue, work together as one entity, like a trinity, with regard to what we allow to depart from our mouth. We were reminded to remember to speak only what is true, kind, and necessary. If what you are about to say is contrary to the Word of God, or perhaps it is not good to edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer, then you must divert the conversation or avoid speaking altogether. You ever get into a verbal disagreement or altercation with a foolish individual? They stoop to lows, and go to extremes to belittle and take jabs at your emotional state until they get you to drop to their level. The Bible warns however, "do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself" (Proverbs 26:4 ~ NIV). Stop allowing you, to steal your joy. Remember the saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me?" Let that be applicable to you; when you encounter an individual's foolery, ignore him or her, do not take their rants seriously. When you allow yourself to succumb to the nature of a fool, and/or to stoop to his or her level, then you yourself are no better than he or she. Like the saying goes, "kill'em with kindness."

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for your breath of life, your protection, and your peace. We thank you for our strength, and the ability to persevere amidst drama and to rise above hypocrisy. We are aware that our current circumstance may not be our ultimate desire, but we thank you for providing peace in knowing that someday, according to your will and time, we will be blessed with the desires of our heart as they fall in line with your will. We thank you now for victory and defeat over the enemy. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you for relief and comfort from our past sorrows and pain. We thank you for blessing us abundantly in our health, within our homes, in our finances, in our spirit, in our heart, and in our mind. We thank you for taming our tongue, so that what departs from our mouth is fruitful and produces good of its kind. We thank you for the enhanced desire to refrain from acting like the fools that challenge and provoke us to stoop to their level. We thank you for your love, mercy, and continued favor. We present our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Minister Grace (5/21/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I hope yall had a great weekend. By the time I send tonight's SOD off, it will probably be tomorrow. I was finishing an individual paper and some work for my team assignment for school. Anyway, continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome.

Returning to some of the concepts from our "power of the tongue" series, let's take a look at Proverbs 16:23: "From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive." In the NIV translation, the term "mind" is substituted by the term "heart." Yes, the translations vary on the verbiage, however the message isn't lost. Just as God is a part of the Trinity, our mind, our mouth, and our tongue, work together as one entity with regard to what we allow to depart from our mouth. Every teacher and speaker will use phrases and concepts to further expound on a message, hence the significance of following the Lord's advice to "study to show thyself approved." Do NOT take my word for it, do NOT take your pastor's word for face value, and do NOT conform to the words instilled in you by your upbringing, rather study GOD's truth so that He may find favor in you and provide another trinity: knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. Now let's take a look at Matthew 12:34 (KJV) which says, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Basically, it is what is formed within that we release out. Matthew 15:11 says, "It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth." Let us remember to speak only what is true, kind, and necessary. If what we are about to say is contrary to the Word of God, or perhaps it is not edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer, then divert the conversation or avoid speaking altogether. There is authority within Your words, so You must learn to use Your words wisely.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we just come to you in humble praise, thanking you that despite the lies the enemy has tried to feed us, that your power supersedes and reminds us of our own abilities to speak positivity into our own lives and claim healing in the name of your Son Jesus, through faith. Lord we rebuke satan and his demons in the name of Jesus, making them harmless and ineffective against us. We thank you that we are healed from all sickness and disease; we deny any germ or virus to operate in our body in the name of Jesus. Father God we deny the enemy authority in our lives, and we take back everything that the adversary has stolen from us. We thank you for redemption, deliverance, healing, and full restoration physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally, in the matchless name of Jesus. We thank you for your continued protection, love, and grace. We submit our affirmation of faith Father God, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Wisdom Shouts (5/18/12)

Greetings Everyone,
It's my favorite time of the week... its END! &lt:-P partyPlease be responsible, and prioritize your time this weekend. I thank God now for your safe travels.

"Wisdom shouts in the streets. She cries out in the public square. She calls to the crowds along the main street, to those gathered in front of the city gate: “How long, you simpletons, you insist on being simpleminded? How long will you mockers relish your mocking? How long will you fools hate knowledge? Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. “I called you so often, but you wouldn’t come. I reached out to you, but you paid no attention. You ignored my advice and rejected the correction I offered. So I will laugh when you are in trouble! I will mock you when disaster overtakes you" (Proverbs 1:20-26). Basically, God is telling us that He has already answered our questions and addressed our concerns; if you haven't received an answer yet, it is because YOU have NOT opened your hearts to hear what the Lord has said. Or, perhaps the answer is not one that is favorable to your own selfish desires, thus rejecting the obvious, as a result of your character deficiency which influences your rebellion, laziness, and/or anger towards life, when it doesn't go according to your personal plan.

Prayer of the Day:

Father God we praise your Holy name. We thank you for your grace and everlasting mercies. Lord we thank you for the discernment to see the enemy's attack in action, and for the strength to claim defeat over the adversary in the name of Jesus. We thank you for undoing all the mischief that the enemy has established in our lives. We thank you for restoring all those things we lost in the midst of allowing our lives to be influenced by the enemy. We thank you for delivering us from the heavy load of burdens that once weighed us down. Father God we thank you for victory, we thank you for peace that passeth all understanding, and we thank you for taming our tongue and reshaping the words that depart from our mouth. We thank you for filling us with the presence of your Spirit, that our words may always be controlled, speaking only things that fall in line with your will - things that establish life, health, peace, and prosperity into existence. We thank you for your continued protection, and for being the ultimate provider. In the name of Jesus, these are our affirmation of faith, Amen!

God's Favor (5/17/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I have been running off fumes the past few days, haven't really stuck to my daily regimen since the incident with my eyes, but prayerfully I'll be back on point come next week.

Yesterday we discussed the fact that NO matter our circumstance, things could be worse, therefore we should praise God ALWAYS... prior to tribulation, in the midst of our trials, and praise Him even more when victory reveals itself. We were also reminded that our testimony is essential to someone else's revelation and/or spiritual growth, and were encouraged to share our testimonies and God's Gospel. Proverbs 12:13-14 says, "The wicked are trapped by their own words, but the godly escape such trouble. Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards." As translated in The Message, this passage reads, "The gossip of bad people gets them in trouble; the conversation of good people keeps them out of it. Well-spoken words bring satisfaction; well-done work has its own reward." In this passage we are reminded of to the fundamentals from our "power of the tongue" series derived from the book The Tongue - A Creative force by Charles Capps. What we're reading about here are the individuals who are so caught up in their manipulation and deceit vs. individuals with a personal relationship to Christ. In a nutshell, if someone possesses a tight knit relationship with the Lord, then deceitfulness, slander, manipulation, and lies would be obsolete in their lives. We can easily resort back to a previous lesson, discussing the importance of refraining from speaking anything that is not kind, true, and necessary, or speaking what is good to edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer. What we say (our words) and what we do (our actions), will produce favorable outcomes in our personal lives, and favorable status in God's sight.

We thank you for your continued protection over each of us individually, our families, our friends, our homes, our modes of transportation, and those homes and families in our surrounding areas. We thank you for the ability to smile even though our mountain appears to be too big, but we thank you that it will all work out for the better, according to your perfect plan. We praise your name, thanking you that our burdens, debts, and obstacles are no longer holding us hostage. We thank you for releasing any form of bondage holding us back from a deeper relationship with you, and for giving us the freedom to raise our hands humbly in praise to you. We thank you for the victory over sin, satan, and his demons, in the matchless name of your Son Jesus Christ, we submit our affirmation of faith, Amen!

What Good is Prayer (5/16/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus! I'm listening to my Gospel station on Pandora, and I am just filled with the Spirit, Amen! Oh... you may not be filled with the Spirit at the moment, but open your heart right now and let God in. Take the time right now to count your blessings and send God the praise. True, your rent or mortgage may be due, your fridge may be empty, you may need a new set of wheels, or perhaps YOU just desire certain things are aren't in God's will for you at this time. Nonetheless, someone else has it worse, yet they can still smile because they know the Lord. Lift your eyes to the hills and call on Jesus, and then kick back with confidence, knowing that it's already worked out. Despite my many hardships, and my occasional bouts of pity, God has blessed me abundantly, with strength to brush defeat off my shoulders, and a phenomenal support system to help me get through my trials. God is so wonderful. WHEW! Hallelujah is the highest praise to our Father, say it aloud, Hallelujah Father!

Oh my, "Grateful" is playing, and it's so befitting for my mood right now, praise God! Tonight's passage is taken from The Message; "Some of you were sick because you'd lived a bad life, your bodies feeling the effects of your sin; You couldn't stand the sight of food, so miserable you thought you'd be better off dead. Then you called out to God in your desperate condition; he got you out in the nick of time. He spoke the word that healed you, that pulled you back from the brink of death. So thank God for his marvelous love, for his miracle mercy to the children he loves; Offer thanksgiving sacrifices, tell the world what he's done—sing it out!" (Psalm 107:17-22). Boy oh boy, yall know I keeps it 100 with yall, I'm a straight up hypocrite and sinner. I kid you not, there have been days that I had just sent off the SOD, and other times while I was composing the SOD, that I allowed someone to steal my joy to the point that the person typing the SOD looked totally different from the one affected by the adversary's antics. I can't even sit here and lie saying that I try my best to be better, because there are plenty of opportunities that I choose self and pray that God just give me another opportunity to find some "act right" the next morning. I fellowship with yall to spread the Gospel, to share my testimony that I am human and my choices in self have rendered unfortunate consequences, yet I am still God's child and He continues to bless me, because I am trying. However, I can do better and so can you. Together we live, we learn, and we need to help guide others come to that same conclusion. Why wait until you are in a compromising situation to call out on God? I have heard many of people who don't believe in God, or don't care to learn anything about the good Word, yet speak Jesus' name in vain, the same as they call on Him when they are at their wits end, or even ask believers to pray on their behalf. What good is prayer if you don't believe (have faith) that God will deliver? We were given the authority in our words to speak life or death into every situation, so unfavorable outcomes are a direct result of our lack of faith in God's ability to work through our faith-filled words. Despite our doubts and lack of faithfulness He still blesses us and forgives us, but what are we doing to bring honor to His name? ***Side Note: Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated or FMBS Inc. Established 2012, is a non-profit organization with emphasis on providing complete sustenance to the body, hence the name. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please let me know. Ministry will play the most significant role in my organization, and it helps us to share God's word while we give back to the community; reach out!*** I've told the story before, but let me tell it again. I totaled my car on New Years 2001, two blocks away from my parents' house. I passed out behind the wheel. Yet I walked away with a scratch on one of my fingers. By looking at my car however, you wouldn't have been able to tell that I suffered no injuries. An even more compelling story is about my cousin Sha'Ron and her daughter. She was driving on the freeway and someone hit her car. The car flipped several times, and yes, she was injured but was NOT debilitated, and her daughter suffered NO major injuries, praise God. I don't have a photo of my car, but I've attached my cousin's wreck, and when you see it you'll understand the depth of her being able to walk away with minor injuries and her baby being completely OK. One can only give honor to God. NO matter your circumstance, remember that things could be worse. Your testimony is essential to someone else's revelation and/or spiritual growth, share the Gospel. Repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for granting us strength and restoring the faith in our ability to use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you that we are redeemed, and are able to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. We deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives, because you gave us that authority. We thank you for restoring the years that we've spent in tears Father God. We thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. Hallelujah Father, we thank you that you are able. We thank you that despite our previous doubts, you gave us another opportunity today to get things right. We thank you Father for being everything we need, and for providing us with deliverance from my burdens. Father God we thank you for the ability to stand firm, even in the test of trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to take control through our faith-filled words. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. We thank you for your continued blessings of protection, and we thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Remain in Him (5/15/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I'd like to give yall a praise report, my last instructor had a change of heart and re-read the email I sent her from the ER, and was able to accept my paper after all. I received a B+ in my Statistics and Measurements course thank God, not my desired grade but one step closer to April 2013, when I graduate with my Masters in Psychology. Whether old or young, whether you took a break, or never applied to college, it's NOT too late to seek higher education or finish your GED to get to that point. Be encouraged to expand your mind. On another note, I wanna add my uncle-in-law Everett, and Laroya to the prayer list. Both are remembering the loss of a loved one; my uncle reflects on his late sister, while Laroya remembers the loss of her child, I thank you in advance for your prayers.

In lieu of the many grieving hearts at this time, I was led to discuss grief. John 16:20-24 says, "I tell you the truth, you will weep and mourn over what is going to happen to me, but the world will rejoice. You will grieve, but your grief will suddenly turn to wonderful joy. It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy. At that time you won’t need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. You haven’t done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy." What's unique about this passage is its significance to our power of the tongue series that we have yet to complete (misplaced the book again, charge it to my mind not my heart). This passage is a reminder of God's promises; we must keep our eyes on the prize - God's Word. Times are very difficult for us, making our trials seem unbearable, but they are the beginning of our strength and growth as Christians. Sometimes it is necessary for us to endure hardship, so that our testimony can help bring someone else closer to God, while other times it is simply an opportunity to strengthen our relationship with Christ; sometimes it is when we lose sight of God and try to do things leaning to our own understanding, that we realize just how heavy the load of our trials may be, finally humble enough to ask God for help. However, the Lord reminds us that this life is temporary. Once we achieve eternal life, our grief will be replaced with joy forever. But in the meantime, use the authority in your words to claim victory over the adversary, and to speak joy into existence, telling your grief to flee in the name of Jesus. And take this time to remember Psalm 23:1-3 (NIV)"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He RESTORES my soul." Remain in Him and He will remain in you.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you for saying "yes," when our doctors, teachers, and associates say "no." We thank you for taming our tongue that the words of our mouth may always be pleasing in your sight, and will always produce positive and favorable outcomes in every circumstance. Father God we thank you for providing comfort and peace in the heart of both Everett and Laroya in their time of mourning; we thank you for replacing their grief with joy, helping them focus on the good memories and allowing the bad ones to diminish. Lord we thank you for complete healing that has restored our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical state of being. We thank you for joyful attitudes in the midst of adversity, cheerful moods in the face of the enemy, peace in our storms, and comfort through our trials. We thank you for your continued protection over each of us individually, our families, our friends, our pets, our homes, our modes of transportation, and those homes and families in our surrounding areas. We thank you for the ability in our words to reverse our burdens, debts, and obstacles making them ineffective against us in the matchless name of Jesus. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Three Essentials II (5/14/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God, for all the women who have children are are/were real mothers; women who nurtured their kids and guided them the BEST way they could. That list includes grandmas who had to take care of their grandchildren because the one who birthed them decided she wanted to be in the club every weekend and have fun instead of being a parent. Or the aunt who may have had to take on the role as guardian because a sibling passed away. Perhaps you are a single father and have to take on the role of both mother and father. KUDOS to all the true parents out there. Remember that an essential part of parenting requires disciplining your children and showing them adequate affection. Don't allow them to get half way grown before you decide you want to start wearing the pants, or showing them you care, because by then, it's too late. Control must be established early, otherwise you will NEVER be able to achieve something that you failed to place an emphasis on. No, I'm not a parent, but I was a child, and if my parents didn't discipline me, teach me the value of work, instill in me values, morals, and respect, then I would be an out of control mess. After all, it is in the Word that we are warned, "Those who spare the rod of discipline hate their children. Those who love their children care enough to discipline them" (Proverbs 13:24). Last week after the incident with my eyes, my schedule was completely tousled, but I think I'm good now. Please keep Myra in prayer for prosperity and favor in her catering/party planning business. Also for myself with my non-profit organization. It's been years since I first mentioned it, but now it seems like I don't have many interested volunteers, and I want FMBS Inc. to begin fully operating by next month, thanks in advance.

Last week we learned that without the wisdom of God, we lack true understanding of life's purpose, and without wisdom and understanding, it is impossible for us to attain knowledge. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10 ~ NIV). Proverbs 14:6 says, "A mocker seeks wisdom and never finds it, but knowledge comes easily to those with understanding." We all know a stubborn individual who pretends to seek knowledge, understanding, and wisdom, yet every opportunity presented them to listen to constructive criticism or a chance to be molded by someone with more experience, that individual displays no real regard for an opportunity to learn. Some people never acquire wisdom, because they don't earnestly seek it. Last week we learned that wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are essential to our spiritual and general growth, and are most effective when they are formed together. These "three essentials" are easily attainable to those who pay attention to instruction (guidance in the form of God's word, and direction from experienced individuals)If you find that these essentials are hard to achieve, then perhaps your attitude has become a barrier. Let go of self and understand that YOU DO NOT KNOW IT ALL, let God and experienced individuals help guide you into the right direction.

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we come to you, thanking you for another day of life. We thank you for the wisdom, knowledge, and the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you for our parents and the nourishment, and values they have instilled in us according to your instruction. We thank you for favor, prosperity, and increase in both Myra's new business endeavors and Tylesha's non-profit organization FMBS Inc. We thank you for continued direction and revelations of your will. We thank you for removing any covers of shade over our circumstances. We thank you for the ability in our words to reverse the negativity in our lives, for the authority to speak life and claim healing in your name Father. Lord we thank you for unity in our homes, peace in our heart, clarity in our mind, and restoration in our total body. We thank you for filling us with your Spirit, that our tongue is now tamed, praying and speaking nothing into existence that is contrary to your Word. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Three Essentials (5/9/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! Thanks for all yallz prayers and concern. Today I had lots of discomfort in my eyes, but not nearly as bad as when the shock first hit my them. Unfortunately, still no word from my instructor about the fate of my grade, but it's in God's hand. For those who don't know, Monday was my last day for my Statistics and Measurements course, and my stint in ER hindered me from submitting my final assignment. That course overall was crucial, so I didn't do as well as I would've liked in the first place, thus, a zero on my final paper could result in a "C," which is not a passing grade in graduate school. But again, God's got this, so I'm over the worry. On another note, please pray for my friend LaRon and his family as they mourn the loss of a loved one, thanks in advance.

Yesterday we covered, that in order to hear the Lord, we must feed our mind, body, and soul with the word of God, making sure we do NOT allow His word to depart from before our eyes; God's Word promotes life, health, and healing to all of our flesh, so we should accept His sustenance. Proverbs 3:19-20 says, "By wisdom the Lord founded the earth; by understanding he created the heavens. By his knowledge the deep fountains of the earth burst forth, and the dew settles beneath the night sky." To further support yesterday's lesson, we see in this passage the significance of wisdomunderstanding, and knowledge. These three are essential to our prosperity, as the trinity is critical to our spirituality. Without the wisdom of God (established in His word), we lack true understanding of life's purpose (to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God; You were born by His purpose and for His purpose ~Rick Warren~), and without wisdom and understanding, it is impossible for you to attain knowledge. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10 ~KJV).

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we come to you, thanking you for another day of life. We thank you for the wisdom, knowledge, and the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you for your continued guidance and revelation of your will. We thank you for removing the covers that once shaded certain areas in our lives. Father God we thank you now for blessing LaRon and other grieving family and friends with comfort and strength in the time of their bereavement. Lord we thank you for providing Tylesha's eyes with a speedy and complete recovery, and relief from discomfort in the meantime. We also thank you for blessing Tylesha with a passing grade for her last course, despite her inability to submit her last assignment. We thank you for the ability in our words to reverse the negativity that we previously spoke into our lives, for the authority to speak life into every situation, and to claim healing in your name Father. Lord we thank you for unity in our homes, peace in our heart, clarity in our mind, and restoration in our total body. We thank you for filling us with your Spirit, that our tongue is now tamed, praying and speaking nothing into existence that is contrary to your Word, Hallelujah! We thank you for the ability to live each day with a new attitude and new gratitude toward a life lived according to your will. This is our affirmation of faith, submitted to you in the name of Jesus Christ, and thanking you now for the victory, Amen!

Stop and Pray (5/8/12)

Greetings Everyone,
My apologies for yesterday. I hope everyone had a splendiferous weekend. Mine went well. However, yesterday was not so pleasant. My pool guy recently seemed to have dropped off the face of this earth, so my pool has started to turn green. My parents, as well as a friend who has experience with pool maintenance, suggested that I put some chlorine and shock treatment in the pool until I can get it serviced. So, when I got home from work, I decided to add a shock treatment to my pool. As I poured the contents of the bag into my pool, a gust of wind blew some particles upward. I was looking down at the time, trying to make sure my pets weren't too close to the pool. The particles got all over my uniform, on my shoes, a significant amount flew into my male pup, Gizmo's face, and some flew into my eyes as well. My eyes began to burn tremendously, so I immediately used some eye drops in an attempt to flush them out, then I applied a wet compress. I did the same for Gizmo. He seemed fine, but my eyes were burning like crazy, so I poured bottled water into both eyes, but nada... after an hour I had blurred vision and could barely keep my eyes open. A co-worker who is a P.A., suggested I call poison control, and they referred me to ER. I learned that I suffered superficial chemical abrasions to the cornea in both eyes. The great news is, Praise God, with antibiotic drops my pets eyes as well as my own should heal well. By God's grace I am fortunate, because the chemicals in shock packets are known to cause irreversible damage to the eyes and skin (chemical burns), blindness, and even fatality. So I give all honor and glory to God, that despite the discomfort in my eyes, I am well and healing as I type.

To piggy back off my close encounter yesterday, we are going to discuss Proverbs 3:7-8 (NIV)"Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil. Then you will have healing for your body and strength for your bones." As it translates in The Message this passage reads, "Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!" One of the things I did yesterday after flushing my eyes out without relief, was seek advice from Google, a few people with medical backgrounds, and people with experience in pool maintenance. To be honest, regretfully, my first instinct was not to stop and pray. This is a prime example of my quickness to move to the beat of my own drum, and seek understanding from self as opposed to turning to the Lord. When we don't understand something, most of us instinctively seek advice from all avenues but that from the word of God. This passage is a reminder if not a revelation, of the ignorance surrounding a decision to lead a life without God in the forefront. Every day living is a new opportunity for us to change for the better, surrendering ALL to God, and allowing Him to be our guide. BEFORE every significant decision we make, our objective should first be to STOP and PRAY. However, we should be mindful NOT to make any moves before God directs our path. To hear the Lord, YOU must feed your mind, body, and soul with the word of God, making sure you do NOT allow His word to depart from before your eyes; God's Word promotes life, health, and healing to all of your flesh, accept His sustenance.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for giving us back the strength and faith in our ability to use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you for redemption, and the ability to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. By the authority of our words, we deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives. We thank you for restoring the years that we've spent in tears Father God. Hallelujah Father, we thank you that you are able. We thank you Father for being everything we need. We thank you that our worries are no more, that our struggles are no more, that our pain is no more, and that our suffering is no more. Father God we thank you for the ability to stand firm, even in the test of trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to take control of our circumstance through our faith-filled words. We thank you for the wisdom and sustenance in your words Father. We thank you for guiding our paths and keeping our heart and mind fixed on your word and will, so that when you speak we hear, listen, and abide. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper, and for your continued blessings of protection. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Seven Woes (5/4/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! Sorry about the past two days yall, this dog sitting at my parents' has thrown my whole schedule off. I haven't even been able to do my work-out as planned. I have to bottle feed the two runts, feed the two dams different food from our other adult pets, and give medicine to the dam that had the c-section. I'm kinda beat. Not to mention, my cousin (also my secretary) couldn't sleep the other night, so we spent the evening discussing some plans to get my non-profit organization up and running. Being that I live half-way to Egypt, it is rare for us to meet like this, so I took advantage of the opportunity. Anyway, be safe and responsible this weekend, and continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome.

Tuesday we covered the 4th woe, which revealed the importance of following God's commandments, reminding us that we must NOT forget the directives in-between, such as giving our time and extending our resources to help others. The commandments are laws that we must follow, however, just because we follow one or two of God's commands, NEITHER exempts us from following the rest, NOR does it pardon us from fulfilling God's additional instructions. Since we missed the past two days, we're gonna complete the "seven woe" series, covering woes 5-7. Matthew 23:25-36 (NIV) says, "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and everything unclean. In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the graves of the righteous. And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our forefathers, we would not have taken part with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’ So you testify against yourselves that you are the descendants of those who murdered the prophets. Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your forefathers! You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape being condemned to hell? Therefore I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify; others you will flog in your synagogues and pursue from town to town. And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. I tell you the truth, all this will come upon this generation." Remember that as we study these passages, we are converting the message as it applies to the current century. These verses discuss God's condemnation of us putting forth the appearance (a facade out in public) that we are saintly, yet inwardly (behind closed doors), we are corrupt. We say what we would and wouldn't do, or pretend in the presence of others that we are "holier than thou," yet, our every action and reaction proves to be hypocritical. Living the Christian life only as a show (an act) for others, is like washing a cup on the outside and leaving the inside dirty. Once we allow ourselves to be fully transformed by the renewing of our mind, which is renewed by the Word of God, then our inward and outward appearance won't be a sham; we will be clean from inside out.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for life, health, and strength. Lord God we thank you for our goings and comings, our ups and our downs, fore we know that with every good and bad moment in life comes a testimony that is essential to someone else's growth. We thank you for providing us with the much needed revelation that our spirit has been yearning for. We thank you for keeping us filled with your presence and for keeping us surrounded by your angels and Holy Spirit at all times, that we may be protected from the adversary's attack, and from all forms of hurt, harm, danger, and evil. We thank you for picking us up when we have fallen. Lord we thank you for blessing us individually, according to our specific need and your will for our lives. We thank you for the renewing of our mind, that we will exude a Christ-like demeanor that will successfully and effectively represent you. We bless your name Father and will praise you all the days of our lives. Father God we thank you for providing safe travel graces, for opening the eyes and heart of the lost, for providing clarity to the confused, and comfort for those suffering. We acknowledge you as our Almighty Lord and Savior, and we thank you. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
