See the FACTS (10/28/11)

Greetings Everyone,
It's the week's end, yall excited? Yall know I am, I look forward to this every Monday, LOL. Today I had to do my annual quals at the dreadful shooting range, but I passed... oh how I hate the shot gun. Anyway, may yall have a wonderfully blessed weekend, and praise God for reuniting us in fellowship next week. Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every situation. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Last lesson, we established that the devil does NOT want us to see God's truth. He wants our vision of life to be twisted, painting a picture of grave suffering, hopelessness, and defeat. But let's discuss some of God's truth - the FACTS. (1) Jesus died for our sins, so that we could become the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Once we've accepted Jesus as Savior, ALL things concerning our spirit will become new. "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!... For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ" (II Corinthians 5:17, 21). (2) As a believer, we become "born again," and are now heirs of God and a joint-heir of Christ. "And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering" (Romans 8:17). (3) We are free from the law of sin which produces spiritual death, therefore, we are able to fully come to the Father's presence without condemnation. "So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death" (Romans 8:1-2)You are a child of Christ who is able to partake in His divine nature, capable of fellowship with Him, and You posses the ability to use the words of your mouth to speak positivity and your desired results into every circumstance. Open your eyes to the facts and tell the enemy to step back. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for your mercies everlasting, your power and your grace. Lord we thank you for your continued protection and for allowing us more days in fellowship. We thank you that all of our sins known and unknown are forgiven and forgotten by you. We thank you for the authority and ability in our words to claim prosperity, peace, understanding, clarity, comfort, healing, and stability into our lives. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We thank you for your truth, wisdom, and knowledge in the Word. We thank you for every revelation and trial that has helped mold us, and we thank you for restoring our years spent in tears. These things we humbly affirm in the name of Jesus, and we thank you now for the victory, Amen!

God's Masterpiece (10/26/11)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor, and glory to God. I'd like us to lift up Ed Bryan in his new endeavors as he crosses the threshold of retirement. Dr. Bryan is 84 years old, he's been in the Armed forces as a Medic and a Dentist, and has been the 1st person of color to achieve high ranking positions and to experience some inspirational milestones. His tenacity and energy toward life is commendable, and his accomplishments are no wonder he has the "bone density of a 20-30 year old" (insider). So as he embarks on new adventures, let's thank God for many more firsts, thanks in advance. Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every circumstance.

What the enemy tries to do with our words is get us to see a distorted, unworthy, self-destructive image of ourselves, getting us to believe these things authored by him, in the core of our being - the heart. But Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:35"A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart." Jesus didn't say God will manifest good things, but that WE produce good things from a good heart, not our intellect or the mind, but the HEART. Jesus tells us that both good and bad things come from the heart, and are released from the MOUTH. "It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth" (Matthew 15:11). He goes on to tell us inMatthew 15:18-19 that, "... the words you speak come from the heart—that’s what defiles you. For from the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander."The devil does NOT want us to see God's truth. He wants our vision of life to be twisted, painting a picture of grave suffering, hopelessness, and defeat. But TRUTH be told, we are created IN Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago." STOP allowing satan's obstacles to cloud your mind, lead you into a life of confusion, or send you to a path of hopelessness. Use your mouth to speak life into your circumstances, meaning, refuse to allow your problem to exist in your life, and CLAIM victory over the issue by speaking your desired results into existence. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we come to you with praise and thanksgiving, giving you the utmost honor and glory. Lord we thank you for Dr. Bryan's longevity and inspiration, and we thank you for his prosperous and happy future in exploring new endeavors. Father God we thank you for removing whatever covers have blinded us from satan's deceit, and for revealing to us the true vision of ourselves and the authority in our words. We thank you for the ability to speak life and favored results into existence. We thank you for the power to say to the problem and to the enemy "be thou removed," and for the confidence and assurance in knowing that it is done. We thank you for a renewed mind and spirit, that everything that flows from our heart is of good will. We thank you for forgiving our sins and helping us to forgive those who have wronged us. We thank you for your continued protection and your everlasting love and mercies. In the name of Christ Jesus, we submit our affirmations in faith, Amen!

Practice is pivotal (10/25/11)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God. I'd like to ask for everyone to lift up my soror Brenda Stewart in prayer, praising God for her speedy recovery and comfort from her surgery, thanks in advance. Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every circumstance. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."

When we first began our series studying this book, The Tongue - A Creative Force, by Charles Capps, we learned that we have the ability through our very own words to speak prosperity or destruction into our lives; out of the same mouth we can speak life or death, and blessings or curses into existence. The Word says in Matthew 12:34, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." The heart is our spirit, and it is programmed by words. Our faith comes by hearing God's word, and our doubts and fears come by accepting and repeating those things that come from the enemy. When we speak those things that are contrary to the word of God, thus being a product of the devil, then we are establishing his words on Earth, and in turn being held in bondage by them; God cannot intervene in our lives when we doubt His abilities because we've accepted and spoken or prayed satan's lies instead of God's truth. Since most people think with the logic of this world, think about this... you wouldn't go around confessing and backing up the very thing your enemies said, would you? The enemy's words are designed to work against you, right? So then WHY do you take time to speak negativity into existence, and put faith in the devil's deceit? Satan is our ENEMY, and our victory over EVERY circumstance is already won through the blood of the Lamb, thus, our worries and concerns should be NO MORE. The power in our tongue should CONFESS what we want, the faith in our heart should BELIEVE that we've already received it, and then we can ACCEPT our desired result and wait patiently and confidently as God works it out according to His perfect plan. God honors our faith-filled words. In order for good things to depart from our mouth, and to be backed by our faith, we must first program the word of God in our spirit (heart). Proverbs 4:23 says, "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." In the heart, resides our feelings of love and our desires, and to a great extent, the heart sets the foundation for which direction we choose to go in life. So, keep your eyes fixed on God's word, and allow the Father to tame your tongue so that you will speak ONLY those things that fall in line with His word, and you will not be sidetracked by the adversaries deceit. You can have what you say, so STOP speaking the WRONG things into existence; STOP speaking your UNDESIRED outcomes and SPEAK THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART as they fall in line with the Word of God. We need to learn to lead our lives based on the word of God and NOT our feelings, because how we feel changes day to day, but God's word NEVER changes; The Word remains the same no matter what our mental or emotional state of being may be. If we are praying for healing and/or deliverance, but do not have faith that we have already been healed and/or delivered, then that prayer is in vain. God's word says, "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up..." (James 5:15). Learn to operate in the ABILITY OF GOD and release that ability IN YOU, by the FAITH FILLED WORDS of Your mouth. Remember that it is through Your very own words that You establish failure or success in your life. Repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for giving us back the strength and faith in our ability to use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you for Brenda's speedy recovery and for her comfort in the meantime Father. We thank you for redemption, and for the ability to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. Today we deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives. We thank you for restoring the years that we've spent in tears Father God. We thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. We thank you for deliverance from pain, suffering, debts, struggles, and worries. Father God we thank you for the ability to stand firm through the test of our trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to take control through our faith-filled words. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We thank you for your continued blessings of protection, and we thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

God is Better (10/24/11)

Greetings Everyone,
Hope yall have been keeping up with your positive thinking, speaking, and praying. I took a brief break, I wasn't in a funk or anything, but I am still working on establishing a consistent sleep schedule; my naps have exceeded the definition of "nap," LOL. Anyway, I'm here today praise God, so let's get back to our lessons...

The news tends to focus on all the negative, and things that we as Christians would deem "good," are hidden from public view and replaced with stories that revolve around celebrity gossip. So, our minds are easily clouded with the assumption that the devil is on a high horse and doing magnificently well, however, if you keep counting your blessings and really focus on God's greatness, you'll see that just isn't the case. Gospel music has transformed so much so that our youth gravitate toward it - we know who MaryMary is, we know who Canton Jones is, who Trinity 5:7 is, because we love the music. But that music glorifies God. Some of it may appear secular when you hear the beats, but as you listen to the words and learn them, subconsciously, you are speaking positivity into existence because you are glorifying God instead of money, women, cars, crime, and material things. TBN, launched an international effort to install satellite dishes to third world countries so that they can witness a channel that acknowledges Christ. TBN also launched a high tech website. So how is satan doing better than God's children? We covered this before, the enemy's only power is that which YOU give him. Proverbs 18:4, 6-7 says, "Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook... Fools' words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating. The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips." These verses do NOT mention anything about a wicked or evil person, no, the term used is "fool." A fool is someone who lacks judgement or appears to have no sense, and no professionalism or respect about him. So if wisdom and knowledge come from God's word, and the Word tells us to "speak those things that be not as though they were," and "whatsoever we ask in faith, shall be given to us," yet we continue to speak negativity into existence or allow the enemy to influence our decisions, then we should respectfully accept the title of a "fool." It is by our very own mouth that we cause destruction in our lives and/or the lives of people around us. The reason the enemy wants us to speak negatively is to tear us down and destroy us, but God's word is truth "For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever" (II John 2) Be moved by what God's word says; speak ONLY what the Word says, and it will work out for the better as long as you stand firm. DENY the right of the enemy to exist in your life and release the ability of God IN YOU, by the AUTHORITY OF YOUR WORDS. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for your almighty power and grace. We thank you for your everlasting love and forgiveness. We thank you for the ability, and the power in our words to reverse the very negativity that we spoke into our own lives; we thank you that despite the devil's deceitfulness, we believe in your promise, trusting that we have the power of healing in our words backed by a sincere faith and trust in your authority. Father we thank you now for complete healing and restoration, profound strength and confidence in our abilities, a renewed mind and spirit, and for the yearning desire to be committed to the mission you have set aside for us. Lord we thank you for new and better employment opportunities, continued education, peace in our homes, strong relationships, and cooperation in the work place. We thank you for new unions, new beginnings, necessary endings, and we thank you for providing those who still seek union, with a husband or wife, and those who seek to start their family, with healthy babies. We thank you for your continued protection and for your promised victory. In the name of Jesus, we submit this confession unto you. Hallelujah, Amen!

Recognize your blessings (10/18/11)

Greetings Everyone,
Sorry about yesterday, but by the time I got home from my parents' I had to submit my class assignments and get to bed. Anyway, today I have the most wonderful praise report. A co-worker sent me an email today informing me that she had recently suffered a critical accident that resulted in facial burns. She said that despite the fact that she was aware things could've been worse, she was still despondent, concerned about whether or not her face would completely heal. As the days progressed, so did the severity in appearance of the scars on her face. Her praise report is in relation to our current SOD series, The Tongue - A Creative Force, written by Charles Capps; this series has taught us to "speak our desired outcome into every circumstance," and that is exactly what she did. I take NO glory, ALL honor be to God, that Ms. Greer has experienced a speedy recovery with NO permanent scars left on her face. Praise be to God! YOU have the authority in YOUR words to release God's ability to work within you.

Proverbs 16:20-21, 23-24 says, "Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive... From a wise mind comes wise speech; the words of the wise are persuasive. Kind words are like honey — sweet to the soul and healthy for the body." Some of us have walked many years in disbelief of God's power, talking doubt, fear, illness, and negativity into our own lives. We boast about the devil's works, "oh the devil is on a roll." Even the media will broadcast the enemy's triumphs, glorifying them, but if we want to see what God is doing in our lives, we must turn on TBN, because CNN, Fox 11, TBS, CBS, and all the rest of the news stations are giving the adversary airtime. Matter of fact, we don't even have to turn on the church channel to see what God is doing for us, look at your life and reflect on all the good that GOD has blessed You with, despite the bad. I may not be rich at this very moment, but I am employed. I may be paying on my house, my car, student loans, and other miscellaneous bills at THIS moment, but that just means I have shelter, transportation, an education, and luxuries that someone else may not have. I may stare at my acne break outs in disgust, but at least my face is not completely disfigured and unrecognizable (refer to the lady that got her face torn off my a chimpanzee). I may have ringing in my ears from time to time, but I can hear. I may have blurry vision when my eyes get dry, but I have sight. We have so many blessings afforded us, yet we focus on the adversary's minor attempts to break us down. The Word says, "if God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)Just because you witness the adversary's defeat around you, does NOT mean that you have to claim it in your own lifeIf you are experiencing a trial right now, speak your desired result into existence and tell the devil to flee. Do NOT activate satan's ability by focusing on your problem, instead, speak the answer - speak positivity into your life and reverse or stop the enemy's process before it starts.  Bring God on the scene by establishing what God has already prepared for You, by speaking His promises into existence in Your own life. Put Your FAITH in God's ability to establish prosperity in Your life, through the very own words of Your mouthRepetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right.

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we thank you for your protection, love, grace, and forgiveness. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding, for bringing all those things that were once in the dark into the light, and for providing us with clarity on some decisions. Lord we thank you for providing Makeba Thomas and her family with comfort in their time of bereavement. We thank you for the complete recovery of Ms. Greer. We thank you for keeping us filled with the Spirit, that our tongue may be tamed, only formulating words that are good to edifying that they may minister grace to the hearer. Father God we thank you for total healing, restoration, deliverance, and mended hearts. We thank you for the strength to keep moving forward with new attitudes and gratitude toward life, we thank you for all the trials and triumphs that help mold us into better examples of your Kingdom. We thank you for a renewed mind, for deliverance of our debts, and for providing our needs and the desires of our heart, as they fall in line with your word and will. We thank you now for the victory Father. In the matchless name of Jesus, Amen!

Release the Ability II (10/14/11)

Greetings Everyone,
I am kind of tired, took one of my infamous naps after I chowed down on some grub I made today... that itis will do it to you every time. Even though it is still Friday as I type, it will be Saturday when I send off the SOD. So I wish you well this weekend, and thank God for blessing us with a safe return to fellowship next week.

"Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34)That is the way good things are established - in our SPOKEN words. God gave You the power in Your words, to release His ability within You. Yesterday we spoke about turning God's Word into confessions, you can start by reading aloud the confessions from yesterday's lesson, or try this on for starters: "The power of God is in me to put me over. Greater is He that is within me, than he that is in the world. I am quickened according to the Word of God. I thank God that His ability is released within me. I stand before demons, I stand before sickness and disease, and I have no fear, because the ability of God is released within me by the words of my mouth, and by the Word of God. In the name of Jesus." Some of us often turn to God tearfully, in a state of self-pity; despite our efforts to pray, we are really thinking that, 'things will never get better.' Proverbs 15:23 says, "A man finds joy in giving an apt reply..."That goes for you giving someone a kind word, but also, for your reply to your current circumstance. So if we find joy in our reply, then why are we responding to the problem with negativity? Has negativity ever produced joy? You allow Yourself to be defeated by Your own words. STOP allowing satan to influence the words that depart from your mouth, and ACT on the Word of God. There is creative power within Your words, learn to use them wisely. Keep your eyes fixed on God's Word so that it may be conceived in your spirit (heart), formed by your tongue, and spoken out of your mouth, to RELEASE THE ABILITY OF GOD WITHIN YOU, and CLAIM DEFEAT OVER THE ENEMY and unfavorable circumstances. The Word says in Proverbs 4:20-22, "... PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY; LISTEN CLOSELY TO MY WORDS. DO NOT LET THEM OUT OF YOUR SIGHT, KEEP THEM WITHIN YOUR HEART; for they are LIFE to those who find them and HEALTH to the whole body."  (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for the sacrifice of your only Son to save our sins, and to provide us with the ability in our own words to claim victory over the enemy. We thank you for taming our tongue that the words of our mouth may always be pleasing in your sight, and will always produce positive and favorable outcomes in every circumstance. Lord we thank you that you are NOT like man; you love us despite our downfalls, despite past doubts and frustrations in your abilities; you love us and forgive us unconditionally, so we thank you and praise your glorious name Father. Lord we thank you for the complete healing that has restored our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical state of being. We thank you for joyful attitudes in the midst of adversity, cheerful moods in the face of the enemy, peace in our storms, and comfort through our trials. We thank you for your continued protection, and we praise you that our burdens, debts, and obstacles are no longer holding us hostage; we thank you for releasing those shackles of bondage and giving us the freedom to raise our hands humbly in praise to you. We thank you for the victory over sin, satan, and his demons, in the matchless name of your Son Jesus Christ, Amen!
