Body of Christ (7/31/12)

Greetings Everyone,
I hope yall had a wonderful weekend. All honor and glory to God for another day living. Technically we have completed the "power of the tongue" series, however, when we first began, I provided yall with a list of my favorite daily confessions provided at the back of the book The Tongue - A Creative Force by Charles Capps. For those who weren't with us the duration of this series, you can check my blog, listed in my signature (for my UOP followers, just shoot me a message in my inbox, as the school site doesn't allow me to list my personal email, blog, or website address on their blogs), for previous lessons. For everyone else, I will use the next few weeks to go through all of the daily confessions, also listing the scriptures they were derived from, and then you can pick and choose which are most appropriate for your situation. Also, feel free at any time to send me a request for the affirmation of faith list. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

The daily confessions we cover over the next few weeks will fall under specific categories for which I will list in bold, followed by the confession, italicized; the ones that you deem suitable for your need, it is suggested by the author, Charles Capps as a part of God's medicine, to recite them three times a day. I will also end each lesson over the next few weeks with the same prayer, with minor deviations, such as attention to prayer requests, praise reports, and/or testimonies, or whenever the Spirit leads. Let's begin...

To defeat worry and fear:
"I am the body of Christ and satan hath no power over me. For I overcome evil with good," derived from I Corinthians 12:27 and Romans 12:21 (Capps, 1976). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

I Corinthians 12:27 says, "All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it." I believe that this scripture is referring to the Church - All of God's followers. Together, we build up the Kingdom of Heaven, through spreading God's Gospel and encouraging and leading others to Christ, by example. Obviously some of us need work on our Christ-like attributes, especially me, but as we continue in fellowship, our testimonies and encouragement help to build our spirituality. Remember that religion is something we believe in, and spirituality is how we practice that belief. Romans 12:21 reads, "Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good." God's word says, "You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this, and they tremble in terror. How foolish! Can’t you see that faith without good deeds is useless" (James 2:19-20). Just because we believe that God exists, means absolutely NOTHING if we are not following His commands. As we've learned throughout this series, the power in our ability to claim defeat over the enemy resides first in the confession, and second in our belief that it has already been done. The overall theme of the Bible is Love, and through love "good deeds" are produced; if we claim to have faith but cannot muster up kindness in our heart, then where does our faith actually reside?

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for the blessings in the storm, and the joy that comes in the morning. Father God please reveal to each of us individually, the personal message that you have intended for us to receive from this lesson, and continue to open the eyes, heart, mind, and spirit of those who may still be holding back from allowing you to reveal to them who they really are, and what specific mission you have called them to. We thank you for changed hearts, for restored spirits, for deliverance, joy, and overwhelming peace and understanding. We thank you Father for clarity of our current circumstances, for contentment despite our trials, and for the ability to use your words as the stabilizing force in our lives. Father God we thank you for allowing your Spirit to tame our tongue, that the words that depart our mouth are nothing more or less than pleasing in your sight. Hallelujah Father, we give you the highest praise, for every trial that has brought us to the point of deeper spirituality, and for every blessing that allows us to be a blessing to someone else, while we give you all the honor and praise in the process. We thank you now for our victory, and we submit this affirmation of faith to you Father, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen!

Rise to a New Level (7/27/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I was doing good this week with the SODs till yesterday, right? Well, I took some new allergy medication before I left work, and by the time I got home, I knocked completely out till like 1 am. But it's Friday, so that means I get to rest the weekend away... my favorite way to end a long restless week. Please prioritize your responsibilities, taking care of home and family first, then dabble in fun and splurge on self. May God keep you safe and protected until we reconvene next week. Have a wonderful weekend and continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome.

Yesterday, we talked about God's medicine - the Word, and how we have the ability to establish success or failure, and sickness or health in our own lives. "Let's learn to take God's medicine daily... If we will begin to establish the things God said and establish His Word on this Earth... we'll rise to a new level of faith. We will walk in the level of life where we release the ability of God by the words of our mouth" (Capps, 1976). God gave us the same authority in our words, that Jesus had in His abilities when He healed the sick and performed miracles by the desired results He spoke into existence. Mark 11:23-24 tells us that, "I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you’ve received it, it will be yours." By the words YOU have established on Earth, your current circumstance was manifested. So, through your words, establish ONLY those things that fall in line with God's Word(Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the power and authority in our words. Lord we thank you for filling us with your presence, that our words may be influenced by your Spirit and we will speak only things which are good to edifying that they may minister grace to the hearer, and always render favor in your sight Father. Lord we thank you for your continued protection and your everlasting grace and mercy. We thank you for Tylesha's efficiency, healthy sleep pattern, and consistent production of the daily scripture. We thank you for guiding our words so that we will establish only prosperity and growth into existence in our lives. We thank you for clarity where there is confusion, deliverance from any burdens, comfort where there is sorrow, relief from all forms of pain, and strength where there is weakness. This is our affirmation of faith, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

God's Medicine (7/25/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! Let us remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

Proverbs 4:20-22 says, "My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body." God's word ministers to our total being - it's our medicine; the Word provides wisdom, and leads the way to righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. It is through the very own words of our mouth, that we establish failure or success in our own lives. Many of us have used our very words to hold ourselves captive, speaking contrary to the Word of God, therefore establishing the adversary's will and placing God's will in bondage in our lives. "But as you begin to speak the Word of God from the heart, it will produce liberty... the health and healing the Word said it would" (Capps, 1976). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord we thank you for your grace and mercy. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. Father God we thank you for the knowledge that satan is a deceiver, and for the ability in our words alone to defeat the enemy. We thank you for your continued love, grace, and protection. We thank you for the ability to smile when we are hurting. We thank you for revealing what darkness has kept undercover. We thank you for providing clarity in the midst of satan's confusion. We thank you for the victory over sin, defeat over the enemy, and deliverance from a heavy load of burdens. We thank you for the strength to keep on keeping on, and the power of our words to make the devil flee. We thank you for reversing all the negative and restoring complete positivity into every facet of our lives. We thank you for keeping us filled with the Spirit, that the words that depart our mouth, no longer posses corruption, rather, our words now speak life into every circumstance. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Overcome the World II (7/24/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! There have been quite a few deaths lately, and although we may not be directly affected by these losses, someone from our fellowship circle is. Therefore, let's remember those individuals in their time of bereavement. Remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

Ok, so in our last lesson. we covered the first three factors leading to Jesus overcoming the world, the flesh, and the devil: 1) Jesus prayed without ceasing, but NEVER prayed the problem, He prayed the answer; 2) Jesus spoke God's truth with accuracy, NEVER in His own understanding; and 3) Jesus ALWAYS spoke His desired results into existence, NEVER confessing the undesired circumstance or the current problem... Tonight we will cover the last two factors in Jesus' ability to overcome:
     4) Jesus used the written Word of God to defeat satan.
     5) Jesus spoke directly to the problem.
Matthew 4:10-11 says, "Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'" Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus." Satan was defeated only after Jesus said 'get out of here.' Jesus operated as a man on the authority of God's Word. The devil will leave you alone as quickly as he fled away from Jesus, when you speak the Word of God boldly and confidently. "The word of God conceived in the heart, formed by the tongue, and spoken out of the mouth is creative power. The spoken Word WILL work for you as you continuously confess it" (Capps, 1976). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for life, health, and strength. Lord God we thank you for our goings and comings, our ups and our downs, fore we know that with every good and bad moment in life comes a testimony that is essential to someone else's growth. We thank you for providing peace and comfort to those suffering the loss of a loved one. We thank you for providing us with the much needed revelation that our spirit has been yearning for. We thank you for keeping us filled with your presence and for keeping us surrounded by your angels and Holy Spirit at all times, that we may be protected from the adversary's attack, and from all forms of hurt, harm, danger, and evil. We thank you for picking us up when we have fallen. Lord we thank you for blessing us individually, according to our specific need and your will for our lives. We bless your name Father and will praise you all the days of our lives. Father God we thank you for providing safe travels, for opening the eyes and hearts of the lost, for providing clarity to the confused, and relief for those suffering. We acknowledge you as our Almighty Lord and Savior, and we thank you. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Overcome the World I (7/23/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor, and glory to God! Hope yall had a great weekend, I slept mine away as usual. Last week I was so darn tired. I just couldn't find enough time in the day to do everything I needed to do, I feel so far behind, but I am really praying to find the much needed structure that will allow me to fit all my tasks within the day, especially sleep. I'm sure not getting any younger, so my body is not feeling this sleep deprivation, which is evident through my past inconsistencies with these so-called "daily" scriptures. Anyway, remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

"I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say" (John 12:47-50). "When you study the life of Jesus you find several important facts that caused Him to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil" (Capps, 1976). In this lesson, we will cover the first three factors surrounding Jesus' ability to overcome
         1) Jesus prayed without ceasing, but NEVER prayed the problem, He prayed the answer.
         2) Jesus spoke God's truth with accuracy, NEVER in His own understanding.
         3) Jesus ALWAYS spoke His desired results into existence, NEVER confessing the undesired circumstance or current problem.
These three concepts were amongst the key factors in Jesus' ability to overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil. These are the same concepts that we have been repeatedly discussing in our power of the tongue series. As we near the end of this series, we must not forget the above concepts; engrain those things in your mind so that they become one with you. These three factors along with the two we'll cover in tomorrow's lesson, are KEY to our ability to "speak those things that be not as though they were," and to reverse all the negativity we previously spoke into existence, claiming and speaking life ONLY to our desired and favorable outcomes. It is through the very own words of Your mouth, that You establish failure or success in your life; learn to use Your words wisely. Repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for all that you have blessed us with thus far, as well as future blessings already set in motion. Lord we praise you now for providing Tylesha with the necessary structure and dedication required to adhere to a consistent schedule that allows her to fit-in all of her daily tasks, especially adequate sleep. We thank you for strengthening our ability to effectively use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you for redemption, and dexterity to reverse all the negativity we once spoke into existence. We deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives, and thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. We thank you for deliverance from pain, suffering, debts, struggles, and worries. Father God we thank you for the strength to stand firm through the test of our trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the nerve to take back control through the power of the tongue. We confess that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper, and we claim now, defeat over our adversaries. We thank you for your continued blessings of protection, and for the peace that passeth all understanding. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit our claim to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Lifespan Development (7/18/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor, and glory to God! Ok, so tonight's lesson will actually be sent on tomorrow, because I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to finish the SOD before midnight. Anyway, please keep Marichu in your prayers for inner peace and closure, thanks in advance. Remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

In our last lesson, we were encouraged to imitate God in the same manner to which we mimic our parents or worldly trends. "We should NOT do less after our Father, God" (Capps, 1976). In John 5:19, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does." In my psychology courses, there are controversial theories about an individual's overall lifespan development; whether or not more is learned through social experience and interactions in the household and other environments, or if we develop more from self exploration and curiosity, is still largely debated in psychology. This passage, in my opinion, gravitates more toward the theory of lifespan development being extremely influenced by example (social experience/interaction); what we observe and what we hear as children, is what we tend to mimic as adults. So if we are filling our mind, body, and soul with the Word of God, then we should have NO problem imitating His Son, Jesus Christ. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for another year of healthy living, for forgiveness of our sins, and for an unshakable foundation in you. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. We thank you that we are out of debt and our needs and desires are met. Lord we thank you for being our refuge when we have no where else to turn. We thank you for the provision of inner peace and closure on behalf of Marichu. We thank you for providing a solid foundation to base our lives upon. We thank you for your knowledge and wisdom, for your peace that passeth all understanding, and for revealing all things necessary for our personal and spiritual growth, and complete knowledge in every circumstance. We thank you for our husbands and wives, for strengthened relationships, gainful employment, financial stability, healthy babies, unified and tight-knitted families, excelled studies, spiritual and financial growth, and for physical and emotional healing. Father God we thank you for helping us to remain in your word, and abide by it. We thank you for helping us to speak those things that be not as though they were, and to have the faith in you that the victory is already won. We proclaim our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Train Yourself (7/17/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor, and glory to God! Tonight's lesson will be short but sweet, because I am super tired and barely able to keep my eyes open. Anyway, remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

"The enemy has programmed the minds of people until instead of resisting him, they have just sort of buddied up with him and begun to talk his language. TRAIN YOURSELF TO SPEAK GOD'S WORD"(Capps, 1976)... Ephesians 5:1 tells us, "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children." We should imitate God in the same manner to which we mimic our parents or worldly trends. If we imitate our Father in Heaven, we will ultimately begin to walk like Him, talk like Him, and pattern our every move by Him; we will eventually grasp the concept of being "born-again." It is only when we make a conscious effort to live up to our so-called spirituality and become Christ-like, that a rebirth - a change will become evident in our overall character. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise you for your grace and mercy, and for your love and continued protection. Lord we thank you for mending any troubled or broken relationships, rebuilding any weakened bonds within our overall family units, and for providing strength in times of weakness. Lord God we thank you for the capabilities and authority in our words to speak life and favorable outcomes into every situation. We thank you for your spiritual guidance that leads us down a path of righteousness; thanking you that everything that we think, do, and say, may mimic your Son Christ Jesus, and be honorable, and acceptable to you. This is our affirmation of Faith, we present this claim to you, and thank you now for the victory, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Power is in Your Words (7/16/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I hope yall had a blessed weekend, I slept mine away, and it felt gooooood. Anyway, I would like to take a moment again, to thank everyone who has contributed to FMBS Inc. so far, and those who plan to contribute in the future. Your donation of items will prove resourceful to our deployed troops, and your time, essential to our goal of assisting the less fortunate in underprivileged communities. I encourage you to visit my website located in my signature, and to spread the word. FYI, FMBS Inc. will continue to send care packages to the troops throughout the year, and if you and/or someone you know are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact me with regard to that as well. Please pray for my sorors, Judy who will be traveling, and Mary who is running for Southern California's State Director of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated. Also, I will be applying for a new position at my job for which I am not positive that I qualify for, but I serve an awesome God, so I know that with yallz help in prayer, I will receive favor with this position, thanks in advance. Remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence.

"A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart" (Matthew 12:35)"The treasures of the heart cannot be hidden, but are manifest through words" (Capps, 1976). Mark 11:23 says, "I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart." Spoken Words program your spirit (heart) for success or defeat; words are containers - they carry faith or fear, and they produce after their kind. If you place more trust in God, YOU would be able to apply the authority in Your words to activate prosperity, healing, and other blessings that you ask God for... in the same way, by the power of His tongue, Jesus healed the sick and performed miracles; with faith even as small as a mustard seed, YOU would be able to remove every obstacle in your way. God gave YOU authority, and His creative power in Word form; the power is in Your words, and it works, the key is to CONFESS, BELIEVE, and ACCEPT your desired outcome(Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for giving us the strength and faith in our ability to use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you for redemption, and for the ability to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. Today we deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives. We thank you for safe travel grace over Judy, and we thank you in advance for blessing Mary with the State Director position, and Tylesha with the SIS Technician position at her job. We also thank you for favor and prosperity over Tylesha's non-profit organization, FMBS Inc. We thank you for restoring the years that we've spent in tears Father God. We thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. We thank you for deliverance from pain, suffering, debts, struggles, and worries. Father God we thank you for the ability to stand firm through the test of our trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to take control through our faith-filled words. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We thank you for your continued blessings of protection, and we thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit our claim to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!
