Sup everyone? I pray that all has been going well. It’s been a minute since our last fellowship, my son will be one at the end of next month, and time sure has flown by. I truly enjoy motherhood. My only hang-up is, we prayed about immunizations and homeschooling, and the consensus is to steer clear of vaccines and to homeschool our child, which brings on a whole new set of stressors. I’m accustomed to independence and am currently in a dependency state, which is very uncomfortable for me and downright embarrassing. Being led to homeschool and avoid immunizations prevents us from being able to enroll Josias into childcare or school due to the strict CA laws, so I’m pretty much at wits end trying to figure out a way to work from home. I know operating an in-home childcare seems convenient, but when you have an infant of your own in the mix, it actually puts so many limitations on your own freedom. I don’t have the space to combine my motherhood with the licensing restrictions. My quest… well, I’m thinking an e-commerce store, but it takes money to make money, yet another dilemma. However, I trust that God will make everything possible. Enough about me what’s new with you, any new praise reports or prayer requests? PRAYER REQUESTS: In our pursuit of self-improvement, financial freedom and balance, I ask that you keep my family and me in prayer; that we may remain focused on the will of God and to always be guided in Him and not in self. Remember to also pray for one another, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from confessing the problem caused by the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: Due to the inactive status of my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated, I was unable to maintain the fees for the upkeep of our website out-of-pocket, so I’m in the process of establishing a new website. Until then, you may arrange any donations or contributions with me at any time via email, phone and/or through the Ralph's/Food 4 Less Community Contribution Program (details available upon request). Don't forget that you may also give back by joining my team of volunteers and members for a permanent role or for specific events; we are always in need of NEW and DEDICATED members and volunteers, as well as material contributions and/or monetary donations to assist in our day-to-day operations (for more info, contact me). Your continued support is always appreciated. Please keep spreading the word. #SOW
HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… About 3 weeks ago, we watched a documentary on Netflix called “What the Health,” which has solidified my decision to become vegetarian and eventually work my way into a fully plant-based diet (veganism). Although YouTube does appear to offer to view this movie, it redirects you to other sites that require some form of registration, so just stick to Netflix if you are interested in watching. Anyway, my decision to change my eating habits has NOTHING to do with celebrity-inspired fads or trends, the idea actually began when I was first introduced to the SDA church about 21 years ago. However, it was extremely hard and I failed. I tried again a few years ago after attending a health seminar at my church and failed again because I tried to quit cold turkey, no pun intended, and had no idea how to shop or cook tasty vegan meals. This time, however, the images from this documentary keep playing over and over in my head, giving me the motivation needed to eat healthy not only for me but for my son who I am still nursing. My suggestion is to watch this documentary. There are others that are also informative and graphic, but none have resonated with me as much as this one, and then make your own clean-eating decisions. As far as exercise, STOP MAKING EXCUSES! Did you know that a plant-based diet can reverse many ailments such as diabetes? Did you know that low-impact exercise actually helps alleviate pain? If you didn’t, then do some research. Try working out at least 3 times a week. For low-impact, a 20-40 minute walk will suffice. And for a more intense workout, try a brisk walk (1.5-2 miles) at the park or around your neighborhood; do 5-10 or more pushups at every corner, or alternate between a lower and larger number of pushups at each corner with about 10-12 squats. If you want an even harder challenge, wear ankle weights. Then when you get back home, do at least 100 sit-ups and/or crunches before stretching. You don’t need a gym membership let your body and your surroundings be your gym.

BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity… Ponder this: "Every age has massive moral blind spots. We might not see them, but our children will" (Bono). I'm no theological scholar, and even if I were a pastor or an expert on God's word, I would still advise you NEVER to take someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT true... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.) so that YOU can start anew and become a better you NOW, not later. Have a blessed rest of the week.
Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!
PASSAGE – JAMES 1:2-4 (NLT): “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

REFLECTIONS:
Does anyone else feel like we are headed towards World War III? Well, I for one have been experiencing a lot of loss of young lives lately, both directly and indirectly, so I’m constantly admonished that not even our next breath is promised; preparation is critical in these days. The U.S. President may not be making fair or rational decisions, every president has had his share of controversy, but James is telling us to be patient and to persevere in spite of.
You may be asking yourself “what is the difference between perseverance and patience?” Well, patience is one’s ability or willpower to accept and tolerate obstacles and setbacks without anger or frustration, whereas, perseverance is the skill of determination despite the difficulty. This verse doesn’t say ‘if’ you face trials be joyful, it says, “when troubles of any kind come your way”; this is another indication that life isn’t meant to be lived without trials and tribulation, in fact, we are being advised to expect complications along the way, and to accept those obstacles as an “opportunity” to express joy. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In EVERYTHING, give thanks.” It does not say that we should praise God only when things are panning out in a favorable manner for us. So, as we sit back and watch the News unravel the President’s plans, we should be practicing patience, perseverance, and praise, as we prepare ourselves for what is inevitable. Face it, being outraged and complaining about it doesn’t change what is written (destined). “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope” (Romans 5:3-4, NIV).
There are four quotes made by Einstein that ring true: One, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”; Two, “We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them”; Three, “Anyone who doesn't take truth seriously in small matters cannot be trusted in large ones either”; Four, “The world we have created is a product of our thinking; it cannot be changed without changing our thinking.” Every “new” president has been blamed for his predecessor’s failures, yet continuing to make similar decisions, all while pointing the finger at the man before him, denying truth, and trying to pass it off as alternative facts. Yet, they have all shown some form of patience and perseverance, as our nation rebels in the same fashion as the examples before us. The true change came from the individuals before us, who thought differently, spoke differently, and acted differently. The Bible says, “… be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). The Martin Luther Kings, the Malcolm Xs, the Mother Teresas, the John Keynes’, the Mahatma Ghandis, and the one who preceded them all – Jesus Christ, helped to shape our world – to turn our world in another direction. Yet, it is the Adolph Hitlers, the Saddam Husseins, the Donald Trumps, the Genghis Khans, and the J. Edgar Hoovers that keep bringing us back into unfair statuses and leading us into stagnant unpleasantries. But, we are reminded to “… be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near” (James 5:7-8, NASB).
The Word = Truth and many of us have problems accepting it as such, it’s no wonder why we continue to hope and pray for a solution to our problems, but God has yet to trust us with our larger matters. If you haven’t seen any change in your life, then it’s time to change the way you think and behave – LET GO of the anger, the frustration, the doubt, and be patient and persevere. “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary” (Galatians 6:9, NASB).
POWER IN PRAYER:
Yahweh, we thank you for every blessing seen and unrecognized; help us to acknowledge our blessings, even those that aren’t packaged to our liking. Create in us new hearts that are grateful and faithful to your will. Cause us to love you more, to desire to seek you more intimately, to adhere to your statutes and to turn away from selfish gain. Baptize us daily with your indwelling Spirit, and make us take heed to His promptings, being careful not to grieve Him. Help us to forgive others as well as ourselves, as you have so graciously forgiven us. Ultimately, give us the desire and strength to turn away from our sin, and to let go of the past that binds us; lift any veils that hold us captive to the adversary or hinders our growth. Help us to practice patience and perseverance through any obstacle we are faced with. Keep us to be focused and disciplined as we work to achieve that which you desire of us. Bless each of us individually, providing the strength, courage, discipline, organization, commitment, motivation, and discernment to balance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives, daily. Also, bless our loved ones and even our enemies; provide revelations and awareness as you deliver us from our strongholds. Transform and convert us 100% according to your will, and achieve in us the ability to pray game-changing prayers – prayers that change people, change outcomes, and help your will to manifest. This is our trusted prayer, we submit to you in the matchless name of Yeshua, Amen!
Very Respectfully,
