SALUTATIONS: I hope that everyone had a great week. I have a new challenge for us this week. Since many people like to give into the pagan traditions of expressing one’s love on the manmade “Valentine’s Day,” I was thinking “what better way to show an act of compassion towards someone in need?” Our challenge this week is to pick up a bottle of Martinelli’s, a box of chocolates, a box of snacks, a scarf and hat, a gift card, or anything you can think of, and give it to someone in need; I’ve provided a template (refer to the attachment) I put together to attach to your gift, or you can create your own. Don’t forget to share with us your experiences with this challenge or the previous. Every act of kindness goes a long way! Reminder: announcements and other helpful information will be detailed following the Reflections and Prayer; after our fellowship, at your leisure, please take a moment to review them. Always SHARE GOD’s GOSPEL and feel free to share the Scripture of the Week with the #SOW. Enjoy your week!
PRAISE REPORTS: There are so many things to be grateful for, and it’s hard to just single one out; this week as well as every other week I have been blessed to see, I am thankful for life, family, support, and motherhood. If you have a specific praise report, please share because we “overcame him [the adversary] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of [our] testimony” (Revelation 12:11). **NOTE: All praise reports are shared with reference to your name unless anonymity is specified**
PRAYER REQUESTS: Please keep Wayne in prayer; he is in the hospital and needs some miracle healing that ONLY God can provide. Keep praying for one another, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from confessing the problem caused by the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps; you can purchase your copy here https://goo.gl/qf4rxB). If you or someone you know needs prayer let me know and your request it will be added to the following SOW. **NOTE: All prayer requests are shared with reference to your name and need unless anonymity is specified**
BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in amidst of adversity… Ponder this: “Though no one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending” (Carl Bard). I'm no theological scholar, and even if I were a pastor or an expert on God's word, I would still advise you NEVER to take someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT true... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.) so that YOU can start anew and become a better you NOW, rather than later.
FEATURED SONGS OF PRAISE: "Give Me a Clean Heart" by Fred Hammond & Radical for Christ, you can listen to it here (https://goo.gl/wsJeEM) “You are Good" by Desmond Pringle, you can listen to it here (https://goo.gl/VpoqMz).
OPENING PRAYER: Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!
PASSAGE(S) – COLOSSIANS 1:16: "For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him."
**Unless otherwise indicated, all Scripture quotations are taken from the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible; retrieved from https://www.biblegateway.com/passage**
REFLECTIONS: We are ALL products of God’s creation, from man to woman, foul to beast, WE are His. Yet, NOT everyone can be called His child. I know some of yall are ready to stop reading at this point, I urge you to keep reading as I present my case:
YES ...
- ALL things were created by and for Him (Colossians 1:16).
- Man AND woman were made in His image (refer to Genesis 1:26-27, NIV, here https://goo.gl/5tZMkr).
- He loves EVERYONE, so much so, He sent us His Son (refer to John 3:16 here https://goo.gl/zcGJT1).
- God wants ALL people to be saved; Jesus gave Himself as an atoning sacrifice for ALL (refer to 1 Timothy 2:3-6, NIV, here https://goo.gl/f2Wybw).
But there is a CLEAR DISTINCTION in the Bible between those who are considered children of God and those who aren’t. Let’s dive in:
- 1 John 3:10 says, “In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother” (read 1 John 3:1-10, NIV, here https://goo.gl/LFc1dJ).
- John 8:39-41 (NIV) says, “... ‘“If you were Abraham’s children,’ said Jesus, ‘then you would do what Abraham did. As it is, you are looking for a way to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. Abraham did not do such things. You are doing the works of your own father’” (read John 8:34-41, NIV, here https://goo.gl/4PwMNr).
- Galatians 3:26 makes the clearest statement of them all, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
We are adopted as children of God (refer to Ephesians 1:5 here https://goo.gl/XWvFdW) by way of our FAITH (Galatians 3:26). Our faith in God helps us to develop and maintain a relationship with Him, which then elicits gradual change that forms DISTINCT characteristics evident of a connection to Christ. The difference between a child or God and everyone else is this:
Children of God...
- ACT in the Spirit (refer to Romans 8:14, 9, NIV, here https://goo.gl/zHmjLv).
- LOVE the Lord (read John 8:42, NIV, here https://goo.gl/3mKoDC).
- ADORE one another (see 1 John 5:2 here https://goo.gl/EFLG3K).
- ABIDE by God’s will (refer to 1 John 2:28-29, 3:7-9 here https://goo.gl/RbeVkT).
- BELIEVE that Jesus is Savior (read 1 John 5:1 here https://goo.gl/oYJ3Rj).
We ALL belong to Him, but ONLY His “children” will inherit His Kingdom (refer to Matthew 18:3 here https://goo.gl/mFDAQb). Have a blessed rest of the week.
POWER IN PRAYER: Yahweh, we thank you for redemption, and the freedom to choose life over death by way of our faith. We thank you for allowing us to live yet another week. Lord you know the extent of Wayne’s need more than his doctors do, so please touch him now; relieve him of any discomfort he may be feeling and provide speedy yet complete healing over his body. As Wayne and his family wait patiently for your hand in his recovery, we ask that you provide strength and peace that passes all understanding. Father help us to choose things and people to surround ourselves with that add value to our lives rather than take away from. We ask to be transformed spiritually so that we never lose sight of the purpose you’ve called us into; if that purpose is not yet clear, please remove the things or people from our lives influencing backsliding tendencies. Create in us new hearts that are grateful and faithful to your will. Cause us to love you and to seek you more intimately, to firmly adhere to your commands, and to turn away from our selfish nature. Baptize us daily with your indwelling Spirit and use us as vessels to share your light with the world. Give us the strength and desire to forgive those who have wronged us, and to forgive ourselves; cause us to let go of the past that haunts us and release us from any binds and attachments that may hinder our spiritual and personal growth. Keep us humble, focused, disciplined, and driven as we work to become everything you have called us to be. Bless each of us individually providing the strength, courage, organization, commitment, motivation, clarity and understanding needed to balance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives. Bless our loved ones and even our enemies; provide revelations and awareness as you deliver us from our strongholds. Transform and convert us 100% according to your will and achieve in us the ability to pray game-changing prayers – prayers that change people, change outcomes, and help your will to manifest. This is our trusted prayer, we submit to you in the matchless name of Yeshua, Amen!
HEALTHY LIVING TIPS: Change begins within… Just because you’ve adopted a clean eating lifestyle, doesn’t always mean you’re eating healthy; healthy eating involves not just a conscious effort to eat whole foods, fruits, and veggies, but it also includes monitoring the intake of things you consume. Overeating no matter how “healthy” or “clean” you’re eating, is still unhealthy; eat in moderation. The same goes for how the foods you consume are being purchased and prepared. If you went from eating processed junk food to eating processed “organic,” vegan, or vegetarian items such as faux meat, at the end of the day, it’s still a process that involves a lot of unhealthy practices. Here are a few facts about healthy living:
- Physical activity is especially beneficial to the body; even if you can’t get a moderate workout in, get in what you can. Some exercise is better than none; try 10 pushups, 100 crunches or sit-ups (you could also try a combo), with 50 squats daily. Or, take a 15-minute power walk, make daily stretching in the a.m. and evening a routine, do as many pullups or pushups as you can every time you take a break, or pick a muscle group to work out while you’re watching your favorite TV show.
- Foods that don't expire or have an extended expiration date, contain preservatives, additives, and chemicals that gradually deteriorate your body. Instead, opt for fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and whole grains.
- Be careful not to starve or dehydrate yourself, the same goes to avoid overeating and overhydrating; the recommended caloric intake is based on generalized body compositions. Base your diet and water intake on your level of physical activity; depending on how active you are, you can determine how much water intake and how many daily calories are healthy for your height, weight, and lifestyle.
