Live As He Would (3/3/2019)

SALUTATIONS: Hello everyone, I hope that everyone had a great week. If you are in the Los Angeles area and looking for a bible study group, Imagine LA is a bible study discussion group that meets on Friday evenings at a designated location; this is a safe and comfortable space where we can come together to learn and talk about the Word in an informal yet intimate fellowship designed to strengthen our relationship with Christ. If you’re interested let me know, and I can forward your information to our coordinator. When you get a chance, please take a moment to check out the Announcements regarding the Ralph's/Food 4 Less Community Contribution Program to enroll your member number or phone number to help FMBS Inc. raise funds for our cause. Thanks in advance. Always SHARE GOD’s GOSPEL and feel free to share the Scripture of the Week with the #SOW. Enjoy your week!

PRAISE REPORTS: If you cannot think of anything else to be grateful for, God blessed you with life, you’re welcome! Now give Him the honor and praise He deserves. If you have a specific praise report, please share because we “overcame him [the adversary] by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of [our] testimony” (Revelation 12:11)**NOTE: All praise reports are shared with reference to your name unless anonymity is specified**
PRAYER REQUESTS: This week, let’s pray for at-risk youth, people with disabilities, and the caretakers of individuals with challenging behavior. Keep praying for one another, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from confessing the problem caused by the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps; you can purchase your copy here https://goo.gl/qf4rxB). If you or someone you know needs prayer let me know and your request it will be added to the following SOW**NOTE: All prayer requests are shared with reference to your name and need unless anonymity is specified**
BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in amidst of adversity… Ponder this: “To study and not think is a waste. To think and not study is dangerous” (Confucius). I'm no theological scholar, and even if I were a pastor or an expert on God's word, I would still advise you NEVER to take someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT true... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.) so that YOU can start anew and become a better you NOW, rather than later.

FEATURED SONGS OF PRAISE: Moving Forward” by Pastor Hezekiah Walker, you can listen to it here (https://goo.gl/G72K6F) “Don’t Pray & Worry” by J. Moss, you can listen to it here (https://goo.gl/v8AFFZ).  I also would like to recommend Classical for Studying Radio on Pandora to better facilitate your meditation on the Word as you study, you can listen to that station here https://www.pandora.com/station/play/2639311889517434029.
OPENING PRAYER: Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!
PASSAGE(S) – MARK 10:43-45 (NIV): “Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

REFLECTIONS: Many of us are conditioned to do good deeds with the hope that we will be rewarded with praise, recognition, and someday a place in Heaven. I think the reason is because many denominations have FAILED to stick to doctrine which CLEARLY identifies in Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) that the ONLY way to achieve salvation is through FAITH NOT WORKS; “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” So then, if we have ulterior motives in our kind acts, why should we expect to have a legit ticket to the KingdomIf we reap what we sow (see Galatians 6:7 here https://goo.gl/uiWRm4), how can a good act bathed in selfishness produce a key to the “Pearly Gates”?
If we want to be close to God in Heaven, we must strive to be close with Him on Earth; our focus shouldn’t be on being Christian, rather, we should be focused on being a Child of GodWhat does that mean exactlyIt means that as a child – a disciple if you will, we must be willing and ready to SERVE OTHERS and BE SELF-SACRIFICING; we must put ourselves to the side the same way a parent does to provide for their children. That type of love is what embodies true Christianity. To be “Christian” is merely a label that man developed in reference to followers of Christ. However, when you STUDY the lives of the gung-ho riders for Christ, they were fearless of persecution, they were ready for rejection, they were committed to that missionary life – they were INTENTIONAL with the things they thought, said, and did because they knew that others looked to them for the “good news,” and how they delivered that news was a break or make when it came to introducing someone new to the Lord.
We ONLY have the allotted time in THIS LIFE to SEEK the Lord – to live as He would and make choices that He would. We can choose to live in Christ’s light on Earth and so shall it be in Heaven, or, we can settle for the darkness with a yearning to see and feel the Light once more (refer to Matthew 8:12 here https://goo.gl/S6rryT). Let me say this really quick, the Bible is a book of poetry, eloquently written in spiritual parables that ONLY the spiritually discerned can decipher... that being said, Yahweh invited ALL people into His Kingdom, whether good or bad, we can accept that invitation (turn away from your old selves and take up your cross to FOLLOW HIM) to be “found” or to keep on about our own business. At the end of the day, “many are invited, but few are chosen” (V.14; read Matthew 22:1-14 here https://goo.gl/JeUJqW). I look at it like this, we were provided with an invitation to a ball, that ball requires us to show up dressed appropriately – meaning, we need to be PREPARED and CLOTHED in the CHARACTER of Yeshua in order to walk through the threshold of Heaven; our who we are should always mimic that of the Lord  – INTEGRITY – whether we think someone is watching or not, that is a TRUE testament of character.
We all have talents that should be used to further the Kingdom, maybe your talent is music, maybe it’s writing, or perhaps the gift of gab, whatever your talent looks like, as a self-proclaimed Christian, it should be used to help further the Kingdom of Heaven, or else, in the end, all the light we’ve failed to shine will fall upon us as we’re met with mounds of darkness, wishing we had yet another opportunity to answer His calling (refer to Matthew 25:14-30 here https://goo.gl/EsUZrq).
POWER IN PRAYER: Yahweh, we thank you for redemption, and the freedom to choose life over death by way of our faith. We thank you for allowing us to live yet another week. Father, we ask that you place a special blessing on all the troubled youth; may they have an experience with someone or something that allows them to see a glimpse of who you are and who you can be in their lives. We ask that you be with the individuals of this world dealing with debilitating ailments, individuals with challenging behaviors, and their caretakers alike; please provide each of them with the patience, strength, and drive to continue moving forward in the capacity that you have predestined for them. Please change our thought patterns and help us recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You. Increase our integrity Lord, and help us to continuously speak and act intentionally, in a mission to bring others to you. We ask to be transformed spiritually so that we never lose sight of the purpose you’ve called us into; if that purpose isn’t yet clear, please remove the things or people from our lives hindering our spiritual awareness. Create in us new hearts that are grateful and faithful to your will. Cause us to reject selfish aspirations that influence self-absorbed lifestyles that bring no honor or glory to you. Baptize us daily with your indwelling Spirit and use us as vessels to share your light with the world. Give us the strength and desire to forgive those who have wronged us, and to forgive ourselves; cause us to let go of the past that haunts us and release us from any binds and attachments that may hinder our spiritual and personal growth. Keep us humble, focused, disciplined, and driven as we work to become everything you have called us to be. Bless each of us individually providing skills and capabilities needed to balance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives. Bless our loved ones and even our enemies; provide revelations and awareness as you deliver us from our strongholds. Transform and convert us 100% according to your will and achieve in us the ability to pray game-changing prayers – prayers that change people, change outcomes, and help your will to manifest. This is our trusted prayer, we submit to you in the matchless name of Yeshua, Amen!

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS: Change begins within… EAT your juice! Sugary drinks are extremely fattening because liquid sugar calories aren’t registered by the brain in the same way as calories from solid foods and are strongly associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and all sorts of health problems.

Fruit juices are almost as bad as soda, they contain just as much sugar, and the small amounts of antioxidants don’t nullify the harmful effects of the sugar. The fiber that is absent as a result of drinking a fruit juice instead of eating its fruit, is a disservice to your digestive tract, and your body, as the actual fruit itself contains vital nutrients that are lost in the juicing process and requires combined juice from multiple pieces of fruit which equate to more sugar. However, eating one piece of fruit would prove both filling to hunger pains as well as well as enough to curb one’s sugar craving.
