Rod and Staff (8/2/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I should really be asleep right now, but I feel the urge to post the SOD anyway. Hallelujah! Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

To defeat worry and fear:
"I will fear NO evil for thou art with me Lord, your Word and your Spirit they comfort me," derived from Psalm 23:4 (Capps, 1976). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Psalm 23:4 says, "Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me." This is another self-explanatory passage, reminding us of Club God (I like to add club in front of words sometimes, to emphasize my kind of fun/club, like "club bed"); God's club doesn't end at 2:00 am, so no need to search for an after-hours spot because HE is like your neighborhood midnight snack place, ready and available 24/7. You know how in movies when a kid gets afraid that their parent is going to die or leave them, so the parent points to the child's heart and says something along the lines of, "I'm not going anywhere, I'll always be in your heart"? Well, that's what God's word told us. Jesus was sent to save our sins, and when He died, His Spirit was provided to dwell within us, ONLY IF we so allow Him to remain in us. If you're still waiting on God to show up, perhaps YOU have yet to LET GO and allow HIM to intercede. What good is asking for someone's help, only to turn right around and seek assistance from someone else, before allowing the 1st individual to step-up? When we pray, we have to be patient and wait for the answer. Many times our answers are on hold because we have bound them by living according to our own understanding, by speaking contrary to the Word, by not wholeheartedly believing in the possibility of favorable results, or simply because there is a lesson we have yet to learn from our current circumstance. God help us! Your rod is Your prayer, and Your staff is the Word of God; YOU speak either positive or negative, prosperity or poverty, peace or discomfort and chaos into Your own life and the lives of others. First, you must develop your desired result in your heart (spirit), then, form that desire by your tongue and establish the outcome by confessing your victory by the words of your own mouth. The power in our ability to overcome the enemy resides first in the confession, and second in our true belief that it has already been done. Remember that repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right.

Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for the blessings in the storm, and the joy that comes in the morning. Father God please reveal to each of us individually, the personal message that you have intended for us to receive from this lesson, and continue to open the eyes, heart, mind, and spirit of those who may still be holding back from allowing you to reveal to them who they really are, and what specific mission you have called them to. We thank you for changed hearts, for restored spirits, for deliverance, joy, and overwhelming peace and understanding. We thank you Father for clarity of our current circumstances, for contentment despite our trials, and for the ability to use your Word as the stabilizing force in our lives. Father God we thank you for allowing your Spirit to tame our tongue, that the words that depart our mouth are nothing more or less than pleasing in your sight. Hallelujah Father, we give you the highest praise, for every trial that has brought us to the point of deeper spirituality, and for every blessing that allows us to be a blessing to someone else, while we give you all the honor and praise in the process. We thank you now for our victory, and we submit this affirmation of faith to you Father, in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen!

~~ Tylesha ~~
