To Whom Do We Listen? (12/19/2015)

Happy Sabbath! I hope everyone has had an enjoyable week thus far. If not, then perhaps you should take a moment to reflect on ALL the GOOD and ignore the bad as well as your past, acknowledging just how much you are actually blessed. If you're reading this right now, then God has blessed you with sight, more importantly, He blessed you with life. Having even just one functioning sense is a blessing in itself, because someone else in the world is praying for a mere fraction of functionality in their missing or damaged senses. If you are still having trouble with finding something to be grateful for to foster joy in your life, take a close look at one of your hands - the prints and patterns on our skin is so intricate and detailed; every fraction of our bodies internally and externally was created by the Almighty Himself. If you cannot find pleasure in simply knowing that He cared about each of us so much so, that He made us uniquely different and assigned each of us with our own individual purpose, then you may need to reevaluate your outlook on life. Do some soul searching; allow God to reveal to you where and who you should be. I encourage you to always read the Power in Prayer, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying forPRAYER REQUESTS: Please pray for my sister Keona, as she searches for a new job and home in the Inland Empire. Also, keep me and my child care in prayer. I'm in need of new clientele who will add to rather than take away from my growth and advancement. Continue to pray for one another as the Spirit leads, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps)ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you're looking for a way to give back to the community, one option involves providing material contributions or monetary donations to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations. Arrangements can be made with me at any time via email or phone and/or through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). Another way to give back is by joining my team of volunteers or members for a permanent role or specific events (for more info, contact me). Lastly, if you have previously participated in the Ralph's/Food4Less Community Contribution Program, remember that re-enrollment is required ANNUALLY. I greatly appreciate your efforts and contributions, and would like to solicit your annual continued support. For those who are unfamiliar with this program, it allows you to link your rewards card to an organization of your choice, and the store will bless that organization with a percentage donation based on your purchase price, at no additional cost to you. So, for those who know the routine and for those who are new to this all, if you haven't already done so, please take a moment to re-register or register now; I would greatly appreciate it if you would link your Ralph's and/or Food 4 Less Reward Cards and/or phone numbers to my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.), to help us raise money throughout the year which assists us in funding our daily operations. HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… "... According to the American Chiropractic Association (ACA), as many as 80% of us will have a back problem at one point or another in our lives. The ACA and other experts offer these suggestions: 1. Sit less and stand more - over time, sitting will weaken stomach muscles needed for spinal health and body alignment; 2. Take a walk - walk daily for 20-30 minutes at a time during lunch or take shorter walking breaks; 3. Take micro-breaks - frequently stretch your neck, arms and wrists, back and legs. Simple stretches include neck rotations, fist clenches, arm dangles and shoulder shrugs; 4. Get moving or go to the gym - although exercise can't undo some of the long-term damage from too much sitting, it can alleviate bouts of acute back pain. You don't have to work out like a pro-athlete, aim for at least 20-30 minutes of exercise three to five times a week; 5. Eat right - a healthy diet, low in carbs and abundant in fruits, vegetables and healthy fats—can quench inflammation and joint pain. Limit red meat, refined sugar and white flour" (Healthy Living Magazine. (n.d.). Back pain city. Healthy living. Retrieved from http://www.healthylivingmagazine.us/)

BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity I'm no theological scholar, pastor, or expert in God's word. I have simply been led by the Spirit to maintain an online ministry which serves as a form of fellowship to many people via email, web posts and blogs, as well as social media. However, I urge you to NEVER take my word, your pastor's word, or someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT truth... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you, NOW not later. Ponder this: "For however devoted you are to God, you may be sure that He is immeasurably more devoted to you" (Meister Eckhart). Have a blessed weekend.

Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua (Jesus), Amen!

PASSAGE – ACTS 17:11:
"These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."

***Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture quotations are taken from the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible***

REFLECTIONS:
"God is the ultimate authority, and the Bible is our blueprint for living beneath His authority. Yet it seems that so many who call themselves Christians are basing much of what they believe on many things other than the Bible. Rather than searching the scriptures, they scammer through the pages of popular thought, mainstream media, Oprah, personal reasoning, traditional viewpoints, etc. Granted, some of these sources will at times line up with scripture. But, how will the Christian know if he or she has a limited knowledge of the Word of God? As in individual Christian lives, so it is also with so many churches. Their teachings have a semblance of truth and godly instruction, but beneath they carry teachings that do not line up with Scripture. Again, how will the Christian know the difference, if he or she does not search for God's Truth in the scripture? Christians are being bombarded daily with ideas and opinions that have no root in God's Word. The trouble is that they are all too often buying it, believing it, and regurgitating the same" (Chambers, R. (2015, December 16). To whom do we listen? [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

Before I continue on, let me say that while I was trying to complete this message the adversary put up an attack, and unfortunately I allowed it to steal my joy for a second. As I was proofreading the completed lesson, this laptop decided to reboot itself without saving my completed draft. Everything the Spirit led me to write initially has to be recreated from this point forward. Oh how frustrating and discouraging that is. I admit, it stopped me in my tracks for a minute, but I refuse to let him win. So as He leads me I will continue on... In the Be Encouraged section of this lesson, I suggested for you to study the Word for yourselves rather than accepting my word or anyone else's word as truth as it relates to theological, biblical or religious teachings. When you hear a sermon or watch a biblical or theological teaching, how do you evaluate it? Do you take for face value what your pastor, deacon, parent or teacher says just because they said "the Bible says..."? Or, do you take the initiative to research the Bible for yourselves to discover whether or not the message you've received is based on truth? At Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church a projector screen lists the scriptures the pastor is reading from for anyone who doesn't have a Bible or an app to read from, to allow them to follow along. Yet, I choose to bring my Bible with me anyway. Who's to say that what is listed on that projector screen comes from the Word or not, lest I can validate it myself? The Bible admonishes us in Revelation 22:19 that, "if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book." Deuteronomy 4:2 warns that "Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you" and again with "What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it" (Deuteronomy 12:32). So again I insist that you VERIFY EVERYTHING you see, hear or read in the guise of what the Bible says, because anyone claiming to to give "God's true message will NEVER contradict or explain away anything in God's Word" (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Acts. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 17:11 (pp. 1652 & 1653). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.). If someone is claiming "the Bible says..." yet what he or she is saying or demonstrating cannot be validated in the Word of God, then consider him or her a FALSE prophet. Fore, if the "spiritual" things that come out of your teacher are contrary to God's Word, then KNOW that he or she is "teaching" their own agenda, opinion and interpretation WITHOUT the Holy Spirit's influence. ALWAYS REMEMBER II Timothy 2:15, "Study to show thyself approved" because YOU will be the one held accountable for the knowledge YOU obtain and how YOU apply it to YOUR own lives.

POWER IN PRAYER:
Yahweh we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. Lord please place your hand in the midst of Keona's job and home search, blessing her with gainful employment and a suitable living environment. Please touch Tylesha's business ventures, supplying her with the right resources and connections to achieve success and prosperity. We ask that you will deliver to her ideal clientele who will add to her growth rather than to hinder. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing each of us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. For everyone and everything we have failed to pray for, we ask that you do not fail to address the concern. This is our affirmation of faith Yahweh, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Yeshua, Amen!

Very Respectfully,
