BE ready so you don't have to get ready (12/26/2015)

Happy Sabbath! Although I myself do not indulge in pagan holidays, I hope that everyone who does, had an enjoyable day yesterday. If not, then perhaps you can find some pleasure in knowing that many people spent yesterday in the community serving the less fortunate. Yesterday may not have brought you fortune, but some individuals who have been hoping and/or praying for a gleam of light, got blessed through someone else's humble service. Bare in mind, however, you do NOT have to wait until the "holiday" season to be a blessing to someone else; when we hold true to Jesus' principle - to LOVE others as we love ourselves (refer to Matthew 22:39) - then ALL YEAR ROUND is an opportunity for you to be and share a blessing, more especially with someone outside of your circle (refer to Luke 6:32-36)I encourage you to always read the Power in Prayer, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying forPRAYER REQUESTS: Continue to pray for one another as the Spirit leads, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps)ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you're looking for a way to give back to the community, one option involves providing material contributions or monetary donations to assist my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated, with its day-to-day operations. Arrangements can be made with me at any time via email or phone and/or through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). Another way to give back is by joining my team of volunteers or members for a permanent role or specific events (for more info, contact me)Your continued support is always appreciated. Please keep spreading the word.

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… Looking to make some changes with your eating habits? Did you know that if you complete a 14-day detox (juicing and clean eating) that your body would begin to alter its desire for certain foods? I haven't decided on which detox I will participate in specifically, but I am considering a juicing detox in conjunction with raw foods diet. If you're looking to curb your desire for sweets and perhaps even meat, or smoking and drinking, a 14-day detox may be the 1st step in accomplishing that. After all, how can you "detox" if you do not stop partaking in toxins? Dr. Frank Lipman explains that it takes at least 2 weeks to reset habits, hence a 14-day detox (refer to http://www.bewellbydrfranklipman.com). Aside from a good detox, you should establish a good workout routine. I suggest starting with HASFit's 30 Day Challenge to Get in Shape found here http://hasfit.com/30-day-fitness-challenge-exercise-program-workout-plan-to-get-in-shape/. Happy healthy living.

BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity Because I am not a theological scholar, pastor, or expert in God's word, I urge you NEVER to take my word, your pastor's word, or someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT truth... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you NOW, not later. Ponder this: "Know that love is ultimately the only answer to mankind's problems..." (Martin Luther King Jr.). Have a blessed rest of the weekend.

Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua (Jesus), Amen!

PASSAGE – LUKE 12:35-40:
"Be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning, like servants waiting for their master to return from a wedding banquet, so that when he comes and knocks they can immediately open the door for him. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them watching when he comes. Truly I tell you, he will dress himself to serve, will have them recline at the table and will come and wait on them. It will be good for those servants whose master finds them ready, even if he comes in the middle of the night or toward daybreak. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him" (NIV).

REFLECTIONS:
If you went to sleep this evening but were not blessed with life in the morning, would you be ready? If Jesus returned tomorrow, could you honestly rest assured that you would be one of the faithful servants He'll be calling to ascend and meet Him in the clouds? I'm not sure how popular this saying is, because I heard it first or perhaps just paid attention to it first from a Suga Free song, "If you stay ready, you ain't got to get ready." It's true though, if we were prepared for the 2nd Coming, prepared for the end times, prepared for disaster, then in the wake of an event such as Hurricane Katrina, we wouldn't have to rush the stores fighting for scraps and looting. When facing something we are unprepared for, we enter into a fight or flight mentality - a dog-eat-dog kind of behavior. I remember when I was working on my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, one of my instructors had us research why countries such as Japan and China, when faced with disaster, do NOT resort to looting and violence. My studies revealed that in the aforementioned countries, the community comes together and helps one another. In the USA, our prices sky rocket and sort of, not making excuses for nor am I condoning certain behavior, puts people in a "survival" mode feeling as though they need to acquire resources by any means necessary. However, if everyone poor or rich were prepared - READY - for an unlikely event or disaster, no one would feel the need to engage in looting or violence. Instead of a dog-eat-dog world, we would all be the "early bird getting the worm". So again, I ask, are you ready? Today Pastor Kelly (P.K.) (archives sermons can be found at http://mtrubidouxsda.org) mentioned how the Old Testament Bible thought is to get ready, while the New Testament Bible thought is to BE READY. He admonished that there is a difference between being prepared for the last days, verses being prepared for the 2nd Coming of Christ. He said "Christ's 2nd Coming is NOT informational, it's personal." Think of it like this, while everyone is preaching that "these are the end times", what exactly does that message prepare us for? They tell us how many events in this world fall in line with the Book of Revelation, and true as it may be, what does that prepare us for? Since the 1800's people have been preaching the end times, yet time and time again, we have lived to see another so-called "end". As a whole, we have prepped ourselves for the fact that the end is near, but what have we done to prepare ourselves for the personal 2nd Coming? Our INDIVIDUAL readiness is based on the standard of how Jesus lived - You will NOT be judged on your loved ones behavior, or anyone else's for that matter. Rather, God will judge us ONE BY ONE on how we lived our lives in accordance to His Word and will - the example set forth through the life of Jesus Christ. As we prepare for the 2nd Coming, our goal is to BE READY for God's judgement. P.K. says that personal readiness involves CHANGE, and change comes naturally through our acceptance of grace ("unmerited favor of God which empowers its recipients to live a life that is Christ-like"); acceptance of grace requires us to actually ABIDE and APPLY God's Word to our lives. It's easier to say "no" to something when we no longer have a desire for it; to "be ready" is to deny ungodliness - ACCEPT GRACE - to be so entrusted to God, that our relationship with Him is so valuable that we DENY anyone and anything that jeopardizes (breeches) that bond. If we are ready, we won't have to get ready... We want to BE READY so that if tonight or the next second was when God called us home, or in 48 hours He returned, that He would be pleased and say to EACH of us, "well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23). I admonish you to BE READY so you don't have to get ready

POWER IN PRAYER:
Yahweh we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. Lord enter our individual lives and lead us so that our desires are changed; Help us to no longer desire the ways of this world, but to be so entrusted in you, that we deny everyone and everything that stands in the way of our personal relationship with you. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing each of us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. For everyone and everything we have failed to pray for, we ask that you do not fail to address the concern. This is our affirmation of faith Yahweh, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Yeshua, Amen!

Very Respectfully,
