Kill'em with Kindness (5/22/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I guess I stayed up too late last night, because I inadvertently shut off my alarm at 3:15 a.m. when it sounded, and was then waken up by the sound of my news update alarm at 4:25 a.m. (5 mins before I need to be out my house), which updates me on the weather, and hot topics in news. Aside from that, I went shopping for groceries after work for some healthy snacks and veggies to use my vita-mix blender to make healthy juice. Since I have been working out, I decided to purchase some Muscle Milk protein powder as a boost to my liquid salads, as I like to call'em, HUGE mistake. That stuff was gross to the 10th degree. The after taste is still there, ugh! Anyway, continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Yesterday we covered how our mind, our mouth, and our tongue, work together as one entity, like a trinity, with regard to what we allow to depart from our mouth. We were reminded to remember to speak only what is true, kind, and necessary. If what you are about to say is contrary to the Word of God, or perhaps it is not good to edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer, then you must divert the conversation or avoid speaking altogether. You ever get into a verbal disagreement or altercation with a foolish individual? They stoop to lows, and go to extremes to belittle and take jabs at your emotional state until they get you to drop to their level. The Bible warns however, "do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you will be like him yourself" (Proverbs 26:4 ~ NIV). Stop allowing you, to steal your joy. Remember the saying, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me?" Let that be applicable to you; when you encounter an individual's foolery, ignore him or her, do not take their rants seriously. When you allow yourself to succumb to the nature of a fool, and/or to stoop to his or her level, then you yourself are no better than he or she. Like the saying goes, "kill'em with kindness."

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for your breath of life, your protection, and your peace. We thank you for our strength, and the ability to persevere amidst drama and to rise above hypocrisy. We are aware that our current circumstance may not be our ultimate desire, but we thank you for providing peace in knowing that someday, according to your will and time, we will be blessed with the desires of our heart as they fall in line with your will. We thank you now for victory and defeat over the enemy. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understanding. We thank you for relief and comfort from our past sorrows and pain. We thank you for blessing us abundantly in our health, within our homes, in our finances, in our spirit, in our heart, and in our mind. We thank you for taming our tongue, so that what departs from our mouth is fruitful and produces good of its kind. We thank you for the enhanced desire to refrain from acting like the fools that challenge and provoke us to stoop to their level. We thank you for your love, mercy, and continued favor. We present our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!
