Rate Yourself: Reliability (9/2/2017)

SALUTATIONS: Hello everyone, happy Sabbath! I hope that everyone had a wonderful week. Mine has been very testy, to say the least. Anyway, as usual, I want to invite you to my church's worship service this Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church, 5320 Victoria Ave., Riverside, CA, 92506; if you cannot make it to church, you can always watch our live stream or archived sermons at http://rubitv.tv. Be safe and responsible this weekend, and try to relax, stress less, and trust God more.

PRAISE REPORTS: GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME! A friend of mine, Jasmine Coleman, had been on a prayer hotline, and within 2 minutes of her prayer, the Lord provided an answer. Also, my son turned one on the 31st and his dad celebrated 35 years on the 30th; another year of life for anyone should always render praise to Yahweh. The Lord may not always be an immediate response, but trust that He will respond on time.

PRAYER REQUESTS: I have a very specific and urgent, yet unspoken prayer request; I need the Lord to deliver like last week, so keep me uplifted, asking Yahweh to provide an immediate answer and solution. Let us also continue praying for one another, thanking Yahweh for the victory while refraining from confessing the problem caused by the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Forceby Charles Capps; you can buy it here https://goo.gl/NWEf7i)

BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity … Ponder this: “If our greatest need had been information, God would have sent us an educator. If our greatest need had been technology, God would have sent us a scientist. If our greatest need had been money, God would have sent us an economist. But since our greatest need was forgiveness, God sent us a Savior” (Roy Lessin). I'm no theological scholar, and even if I were a pastor or an expert on God's word, I would still advise you NEVER to take someone else's word as solid truth; "Study to show thyself approved" (II Timothy 2:15), and CHALLENGE EVERYTHING by comparing it to the Word of God. If what you see, hear or read does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT true... The rest of this day isn't promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.) so that you can start anew and become a better you NOW, not later.

FEATURED SONGS OF PRAISE: "It Ain't Over" by Maurette Brown you can listen here (https://goo.gl/mxDAxg); "No Weapon" by Fred Hammond you can listen here (https://goo.gl/nc8CiR).
OPENING PRAYER: Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Yeshua, Amen!

PASSAGE – LUKE 16:10: "He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much."

REFLECTIONS:
This week's character check focuses on reliability - how do you rate yourself? My pet peeve is dealing with individuals who are unreliable - be a man or woman of your word, simple as that. Our passage tells us that someone who is "faithful" with the little things, can also be trusted to handle larger things. Ever wonder why God hasn't provided you with that promotion or allowed you to win a super huge lottery jackpot? More than likely, it's because you struggle with the current position you hold, and misappropriate the finances He has already blessed you with. If He cannot trust you with $25, how can He rely on you to effectively prioritize and manage $25,000 dollars? If you're unreliable in your current position at work (e.g. only do the bare minimum, or instead of working hard, you're hardly working), how then can He bless you with a greater position that requires more dedication than you're willing to put forth?

The term used in our passage "faithful," is synonymous with reliable, steadfast, loyal, devoted, and dependable. David and Samuel appointed RELIABLE individuals to control access to their villages (refer to I Chronicles 9:22 here https://goo.gl/tpDQnL). Would you ask someone to babysit your children if you knew that they were unreliable? Matter of fact, would you entrust an individual with any task, if you were certain that you couldn't depend on them to follow through? That may actually be the reason God hasn't granted you with an increase in whatever it is that you desire more of.
Matthew 25:23 says, "His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." Basically, the Lord entrusts things to those who are reliable enough to efficiently and effectively execute the task at hand, be it a ministry, education, medicine, finances, leadership, or some other minor or major authoritative position. If you cannot hold true to your word, things often "come up" when you've already committed yourself to something/someone else, you splurge before you take care of home, your priorities don't include God, family, home, work, and everything else - in that order, then you probably need to work on your reliabilityAt the end of the day, can you honestly say that people can depend on you to deliver, 99.5% of the time? I give that percentage, because, every now and then we all experience unforeseen circumstances that require our immediate attention and may interfere with our being able to tend to our previous commitments. Are you truly reliable?

I will end this lesson on "reliability" with these corresponding scriptures taken from the NIV Bible:
  • Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."
  • **I Corinthians 4:2: "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful."**
  • Ephesians 6:5-8: "Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not people, because you know that the Lord will reward each one for whatever good they do, whether they are slave or free."
  • **II Timothy 2:2: "And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others."**

POWER IN PRAYER:
Yahweh, we thank you for delivering us from: strongholds, addiction, anger, resentment, heartache, disease, illness, pain, grief, financial debt, stress, anxiety, and depression; thank you for breaking every chain attached to each individual reciting this prayer, and for the people that we stand in intercessory prayer for. We thank you for providing the comfort and complete healing that we have been promised by the stripes of Jesus. In these end times, we ask that you place an extra hedge of protection over our children, our households, our modes of transportation, and our surroundings; may we forever be fixed on Jesus, steadfast on your Word and your will, and may we maintain or develop a strong will to transform into or to remain reliable and trustworthy individuals. Lord, you know each of our concerns and true needs better than we know them ourselves. That being said, take all of the unspoken prayers, be it obvious to us or unbeknownst; deliver us, transform us, secure us, develop us, and provide for us the way that your Word says you will, all according to your will. Lord, Tylesha has a very specific prayer and plea on her heart that she has been seeking your counsel and divine intervention for quite some time; we thank you for immediately providing the clear, concise, and undeniable answer/solution to her concern, the way you did for the bleeding woman in Mark 5:25-30 (read it here https://goo.gl/vCdPa8), who received immediate healing by merely touching your garments. Baptize us with your indwelling Spirit, and cause us take heed to His promptings. Keep us humble, focused, disciplined, and driven as we work to become everything you have called us to be. Provide each of us with the skill to balance our personal, professional, and spiritual lives as guided by you. Transform and convert us 100% according to your will. Achieve in us the ability to pray game-changing prayers – prayers that change people, change outcomes, and help your will to manifest. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth and we thank you for protecting us from its recourse. For everyone and everything we have failed to pray for, we ask that you do not fail to address the concern. This is our trusted prayer, we submit to you in the matchless name of Yeshua, Amen!

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within … You wanna know the real reason why your New Year's resolutions tend to fail? Because you don't really desire change, what you desire are the results that change would render, but without all the effort that goes along with it. Welp, the bad news is, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to see different results when you haven't done anything different to achieve your desired outcome. The good new is, if you're reading this right now, here's your chance to make some changes. If you want to eat better, then exchange that junk food for a piece of fruit, or snack on some fresh veggies - a side salad even; replace the fried chicken with baked chicken or pan seared tofu; drink lemon or cucumber water instead of soda and juice. If your goal is to workout, start slow by walking at least 15 minutes a day; gradually increase your speed to a brisk walk, and increase your time, maybe adding ankle or wrist weights. The only thing holding you back is YOU!

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.) is still very grateful to the only individual who purchased a Christian based t-shirt or hoodie in support of our fundraising campaign. However, there were NOT enough supporters, so we had to relaunch the campaign. We need at least 15 people to make a purchase in order for Bonfire to even process and begin production on the first order. This fundraiser is one way for us to raise money to give back to the community – ALL proceeds go towards supplying the needy with food, water, and hygiene items. Recipients are selected by referral, and by canvassing the streets for deserving families and individuals throughout LA County and the I.E. Help us reach our goal by SHARING this link https://www.bonfire.com/campaigning-4-jesus/ on ALL of your social media networks, and if you’re able, by making a purchase on the preceding link as wellYou may also arrange any monetary donations or item contributions at any time via email at fmbsinc_2012@outlook.com. Another way FMBS Inc. raises funds is through the Ralph's/Food 4 Less Community Contribution Program; you must go to their website here http://www.friendsindeedpas.org/get-involved/ralphs-community-contribution-program/ and link your rewards cards or telephone numbers ("Alt ID") to our organization each year, and we will earn money for every purchase made under your linked rewards. As far as my personal campaign, it's been extremely slow, but I think it's a worthy cause. Over the past three days, I have written 4 more children's books. My GoFundMe campaign will help to fund illustrations and publishing of at least two of my inspirational/educational children's books, and help me to start-up an e-commerce store so that I can remain a stay-at-home mother and homeschool my son; I'm only $6100 away from reaching my goal. If you haven't already, you can make a donation here https://www.gofundme.com/josiaskhari, but even if you cannot make a contribution/donation yourself, SHARE these links and info with EVERYONE, and on ALL of your social media outlets because sharing is caring 😊. Your continued support is always appreciated. Please keep spreading the word. #SOW
