YOUR WORDS (11/21/11)

Greetings Everyone,
I know it's been a while since you've received the SOD, but understand that it's not because I'm in a rut or anything. School is just a lot more demanding than I anticipated, I suppose that's what I get for taking a year break. Anyway, due to my sleep habits, commute, and other minor factors, I don't really utilize all of my time most effectively. Instead, I take naps that are more like hibernation, and on my weekends and days off, instead of doing homework or typing the SOD, my body spend hours tying to compensate for all the lost sleep. When I finally get down to business, I'm barely making the deadline to submit my assignments, and can forget about getting up by 2:30am for work if I stay up past midnight to type the daily scripture. But don't fret, I'm working on a plan to get a compact device that I can use on the train to work instead of nap. Hopefully that will eliminate some of my workload so that I can get homework, the SOD, and sleep efficiently worked into my daily regimen; keep my success in this matter lifted in prayer, thanks in advance. Also, to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, know that even though the SOD hasn't been circulated in recent weeks, I have kept every request in prayer. Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every situation. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Faith-filled words will put you over, and fear-filled words will defeat you. My Paster always prays before a sermon, "let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable and pleasing in your sight Lord." One of our daily confessions reads, "I let NO corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth, but that which is good to edifying that it may minister grace to the hearer." Everything that we think, do, and say, should always be pleasing to the Lord. What we do in life shouldn't be influenced by concerns for what random individuals in and throughout our lives may think; let your focus be on God's word, His commands, and what is acceptable in His sight. Proverbs 18:20-21 as translated in the NKJV reads, "A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit." As translated in the Amplified Version, these same verses read, "A man's [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]." Proverbs 13:3 (NLT) says, "Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything." If you refer back to our opening passage, James 3:6 warns, "...the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body..." The very own words of your mouth can either make or break you; you can speak life or death into every circumstance; You can claim victory or defeat over your enemy, it's all in the power of YOUR WORDS. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Lord we thank you for your grace and mercy. We thank you for the peace that passeth all understand. Father God we thank you for the knowledge that satan is a deceiver, and for the ability in our words alone to defeat the enemy. We thank you for your continued love, grace, and protection. We thank you for the ability to smile when we are hurting. We thank you for revealing what darkness has kept in the shade. We thank you for providing clarity in the midst of satan's confusion. We thank you for the victory over sin, defeat over the enemy, and deliverance from a heavy load of burdens. We thank you for the strength to keep on keeping on, and the power of our words to make the devil flee. We thank you for reversing all the negative and restoring complete positivity into every facet of our lives. We thank you for keeping us filled with the Spirit, that the words that depart our mouth, no longer posses corruption, rather, our words now speak life into every circumstance, and are always acceptable and pleasing in your sight. These things we claim and thank you for, in the name of Jesus, Amen!

~~ Tylesha ~~
