Repetition is Key (4/18/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I'd like to add Kenya, a very troubled and abused youth, trying to make a 180 degree turn-around, as well as Renee, for safe travels, and healing from a sleep disorder. Thanks in advance. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversityGod Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Yesterday we were reminded that through the very own words of our mouth, we have the ability to establish failure or success in our lives, to speak good or bad outcomes into our own lives and the lives of others, and were advised to consider our words CAREFULLY BEFORE we speak. There was a lesson we covered a while back, encouraging us to speak only things that are "true, kind, and necessary," ponder that... Proverbs 12:17-18 (NIV) says, "An honest witness tells the truth, but a false witness tells lies. The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing." Before you choose to speak, God help me on this one, ask yourself these questions: Is it necessary for me to say what I am about to say (will your words minister to, encourage, or constructively help the hearer)?; Are the words I want to say truthful (are you about to spread rumors, make a false statement, make promises you won't keep, or give your word with NO intention of following though)?; Will the words I speak be tactful or uplifting (are your choice words kind and inspirational)? If the words you plan to speak aloud are not "truekind, or necessary," then refrain from them. Proverbs 10:19 warns, "Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut." I love to occasionally use this statement "repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right," because I will revert back to past lessons to refresh our mind on the message; if we review these concepts of God's word enough, they will become engrained in our mind, but the key element is to practice - to APPLY those concepts to our DAILY lives.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for taming our tongue so that the words of our mouth may always be pleasing in your sight, and will always produce positive and favorable outcomes in every circumstance. Lord we praise you now for reforming our sister Kenya, transforming her mind and replacing her old desires with those that fall in line with your will. Father we thank you for blessing Renee with safe travels as she visits Nevada to attend a wedding; please be the officiant at that wedding, blessing that couple with a foundation that will render a successful union. We also thank you for providing Renee with complete healing from her sleep disorder, replacing her abnormal breathing with some normalcy. Lord we thank you for complete healing that has restored our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical state of being. We thank you for joyful attitudes in the midst of adversity, cheerful moods in the face of the enemy, peace in our storms, and comfort through our trials. We thank you for your continued protection over each of us individually, our families, our friends, our homes, pets, our modes of transportation, and those homes and families in our surrounding areas. We praise your name, thanking you that our burdens, debts, and obstacles are no longer holding us hostage. We thank you for releasing any form of bondage previously holding us back from a deeper relationship with you, and for giving us the freedom to raise our hands humbly in praise to you. We thank you for the victory over sin, satan, and his demons, in the matchless name of your Son Jesus Christ, we submit our affirmation of faith, Amen!
