Stand the test of time (4/19/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I was less productive today than the past few days. I have been trying my best to adhere to this schedule that I have generated for myself, but today I needed a nap when I got home. But that's OK, the SOD is in production, so we're good. Anyway, I'd like to give a praise report... my Gram has been given a clean bill of health, she's in TOTAL remission from Cancer. Hallelujah! Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversityGod Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Yesterday we discussed the importance of ensuring that the words we plan to speak aloud are true, kind, and necessary, otherwise, we are encouraged to refrain from them. We were also reminded that if we review the concepts of God's word enough, they will become engrained in our mind, but the essential part is to practice - to APPLY those concepts to our DAILY lives. Proverbs 12:19-21 says, "Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed. Deceit fills hearts that are plotting evil; joy fills hearts that are planning peace! No harm comes to the godly, but the wicked have their fill of trouble." Like the guidelines for life outlined in the Bible, or God's unconditional love and grace, honesty is an unchanging concept that will be relevant for our lifetime. Being truthful withstands the test of time. Lies come today and are gone tomorrow. Think about it, when you tell a lie, you typically have to resort to another one and so forth, to keep the original one going steady. After a while, you've told so many lies that you can't even remember the origin of the lie, and eventually truth leads your dishonesty from the dark. Being honest is a righteous act, typical of reverent individuals who are able to see opportunities in their trials, and are willing and capable of moving forward. However, those people who speak with an ill-tongue also posses an ill-heart. The perverse ways and evil words of the evil-hearted, reveal their lack of God's wisdom, and are a testament of the true internal misery they endure. These people are ill-equipped to handle their issues, so they do and say anything necessary to lure the righteous down to their level. Let's resort to our focal passage "the tongue is a flame of fire... a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body"; the liars, the deceivers, the manipulators, and down right evildoers have corrupted themselves by the very own words of their mouth, and if you allow them, they will lead you down the wrong path. Instead, maintain truthful lips, and speak NOTHING that isn't aligned with God's word. Use the authority in your faith-filled words to speak life and positive outcomes into every circumstance. After all, with the power of the tongue, "no weapon turned against you will succeed" (Isaiah 54:17)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for the sacrifice of your only Son who saved our sins, and provided us with a super natural healing that science cannot understand. Lord we sing sweet hallelujahs to you, for healing Tye's Gram, Shirley, from the enemy's attempt against her life and health. We thank you for taming our tongue, that the words of our mouth may always be pleasing in your sight, and will always produce positive and favorable outcomes in every circumstance. Lord we thank you that you are NOT like man; you love us despite our downfalls, despite past doubts and frustrations in your abilities, you love us unconditionally and forgive us, affording us another opportunity each day to get things right, so we thank you and praise your glorious name Father. Lord we thank you for complete healing that has restored our spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical state of being. We thank you for joyful attitudes, peace that passeth all understanding, and comfort through our trials. We thank you for your continued hedge of protection. We thank you for deliverance from our burdens, debts, obstacles, and for releasing any shackles of bondage that has hindered our relationship with you. We claim victory now over sin, satan, and his demons. This is our affirmation of faith, in the matchless name of Jesus, Amen!
