Imitate God (12/7/11)

Greetings Everyone,
Today, I didn't use my time effectively on the train, as far as utilizing that time to work on homework or the SOD. However, I did get some great spiritual advice from some seasoned married women, so that is a plus. Anyway, a dear friend of mine who was in the Navy with me (he's still active duty), Mario Torres, would like us to pray for him and his family. Unfortunately, his mother passed away last night; let's pray and thank God in advance for strength and comfort in his time of bereavement. Also, I have an unspoken prayer request for personal relationships and general relationships in my own life as well as some unnamed family members, thanks in advance. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the desired results and refrain from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Ephesians 5:1 says, "Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children." To imitate God, you must talk like Him and act like Him; God will NOT require you to do something that you are not capable of doing. Jesus remains our sole perfect example of a human being, because He maintained His faith in God NO matter His temptations, following the spiritual law at all times; Jesus operated in the God kind of faith - He spoke life into every circumstance and His principle of faith was to Ask (speak), Believe (trust in your heart that it is already done), and Receive (accept the victory). Jesus imitated the God kind of faith as illustrated in the Book of Genesis; God said, "let there be light," and light was. Jesus told the waters to "be still," and the waves we calmed. John 14:12 says, "I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works..." These principles of faith are based on spiritual laws, they work for WHOEVER will APPLY these laws; You set these laws into motion by the WORDS of your mouth. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise you for your grace and mercy, your love and continued protection. Lord we thank you for providing Mario and other grieving family and friends with comfort and strength in their time of bereavement. Father, bless Tylesha and any of her family members that we have not mentioned by name; mend any troubled or broken relationships, rebuild any weakened bonds within the overall family unit, and provide strength in times of weakness. Lord God we thank you for the capabilities and authority in our words to speak life and favorable outcomes into every situation. We thank you for your spiritual guidance that leads us down a path of righteousness; thanking you that everything that we think, do, and say, may mimic your Son Christ Jesus, and be honorable, and acceptable to you. This is our affirmation of Faith, we present this claim to you, and thank you now for the victory, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

~~ Tylesha ~~
