Overcome the World II (7/24/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! There have been quite a few deaths lately, and although we may not be directly affected by these losses, someone from our fellowship circle is. Therefore, let's remember those individuals in their time of bereavement. Remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

Ok, so in our last lesson. we covered the first three factors leading to Jesus overcoming the world, the flesh, and the devil: 1) Jesus prayed without ceasing, but NEVER prayed the problem, He prayed the answer; 2) Jesus spoke God's truth with accuracy, NEVER in His own understanding; and 3) Jesus ALWAYS spoke His desired results into existence, NEVER confessing the undesired circumstance or the current problem... Tonight we will cover the last two factors in Jesus' ability to overcome:
     4) Jesus used the written Word of God to defeat satan.
     5) Jesus spoke directly to the problem.
Matthew 4:10-11 says, "Get out of here, Satan," Jesus told him. "For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.'" Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus." Satan was defeated only after Jesus said 'get out of here.' Jesus operated as a man on the authority of God's Word. The devil will leave you alone as quickly as he fled away from Jesus, when you speak the Word of God boldly and confidently. "The word of God conceived in the heart, formed by the tongue, and spoken out of the mouth is creative power. The spoken Word WILL work for you as you continuously confess it" (Capps, 1976). (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for life, health, and strength. Lord God we thank you for our goings and comings, our ups and our downs, fore we know that with every good and bad moment in life comes a testimony that is essential to someone else's growth. We thank you for providing peace and comfort to those suffering the loss of a loved one. We thank you for providing us with the much needed revelation that our spirit has been yearning for. We thank you for keeping us filled with your presence and for keeping us surrounded by your angels and Holy Spirit at all times, that we may be protected from the adversary's attack, and from all forms of hurt, harm, danger, and evil. We thank you for picking us up when we have fallen. Lord we thank you for blessing us individually, according to our specific need and your will for our lives. We bless your name Father and will praise you all the days of our lives. Father God we thank you for providing safe travels, for opening the eyes and hearts of the lost, for providing clarity to the confused, and relief for those suffering. We acknowledge you as our Almighty Lord and Savior, and we thank you. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
