Lifespan Development (7/18/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor, and glory to God! Ok, so tonight's lesson will actually be sent on tomorrow, because I couldn't keep my eyes open long enough to finish the SOD before midnight. Anyway, please keep Marichu in your prayers for inner peace and closure, thanks in advance. Remember to REFRAIN from praying (confessing) the problem (unfavorable outcomes), but ALWAYS speak (pray/confess) the answer (your desired result) into existence. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

In our last lesson, we were encouraged to imitate God in the same manner to which we mimic our parents or worldly trends. "We should NOT do less after our Father, God" (Capps, 1976). In John 5:19, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does." In my psychology courses, there are controversial theories about an individual's overall lifespan development; whether or not more is learned through social experience and interactions in the household and other environments, or if we develop more from self exploration and curiosity, is still largely debated in psychology. This passage, in my opinion, gravitates more toward the theory of lifespan development being extremely influenced by example (social experience/interaction); what we observe and what we hear as children, is what we tend to mimic as adults. So if we are filling our mind, body, and soul with the Word of God, then we should have NO problem imitating His Son, Jesus Christ. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for another year of healthy living, for forgiveness of our sins, and for an unshakable foundation in you. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. We thank you that we are out of debt and our needs and desires are met. Lord we thank you for being our refuge when we have no where else to turn. We thank you for the provision of inner peace and closure on behalf of Marichu. We thank you for providing a solid foundation to base our lives upon. We thank you for your knowledge and wisdom, for your peace that passeth all understanding, and for revealing all things necessary for our personal and spiritual growth, and complete knowledge in every circumstance. We thank you for our husbands and wives, for strengthened relationships, gainful employment, financial stability, healthy babies, unified and tight-knitted families, excelled studies, spiritual and financial growth, and for physical and emotional healing. Father God we thank you for helping us to remain in your word, and abide by it. We thank you for helping us to speak those things that be not as though they were, and to have the faith in you that the victory is already won. We proclaim our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!

~~ Tylesha ~~
"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8)
