Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God! I hope that yall had a wonderful weekend and I pray that your week has started off on a good note. If not, tell satan and his army to FLEE and CLAIM victory over defeat NOW; PROCLAIM that the adversary be INEFFECTIVE in ANY attempt or attack he makes against you, and TRUST that the Lord has already worked it out for you. If or when you feel yourself resorting to an irritable mood or attitude, regress and remind yourself of the AUTHORITY in YOUR WORDS to claim and accept your CONTROL over evil. Now for this week's challenge, I encourage you to fast at least one day this week (to include the weekend); your fasting can be for the entire rest of the week, for one or more days of this week, for a period of time during each day (e.g. sunrise to sunset), for an entire 24 hour period, and/or may be a specific item of fasting (e.g. TV, secular music, meat, all solid foods, etc.). For this fasting, I encourage you to focus on a specific cause (e.g. breast cancer, lupus, etc.), a specific individual, or a personal revelation; whatever time frame and item you choose to focus your fasting, utilize the time within your fasting to focus directly on your specific cause, revelation, or individual(s). That being said, please remember Jessica in prayer; for healing. Also, please feel free to focus your prayer on me as an individual and/or the endeavors involving my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (for more info about FMBS Inc. refer to http://www.fmbs-inc-bytye.org). Your healthy living tip for today is as follows: "The volatile oils in ginger have long made it a useful herbal remedy for nasal and chest congestion. Pour 2 cups of boiling water over a 1-inch piece of peeled, grated ginger; steep for 10 minutes; and strain. Add a pinch or two of cayenne pepper to the water and drink as needed" (Well Living. 50 Simple health tips: Enjoy ginger. Retrieved from http://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/features/8-fall-tips-healthy-living?page=3). Please note that ginger may also be an effective remedy for upset stomach and nausea. Be encouraged!
Please join our cause! There is nothing more rewarding than helping others, especially those less fortunate than ourselves. Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.) is partnering with the LA Foodbank in our FIRST food drive beginning October 1, 2013 until November 20, 2013; we are soliciting both NON-perishable food items (at least 350 lbs) and/or monetary donations (a goal of $350) on behalf of the LA Foodbank. For every $1 collected, they are able to provide four meals. All food items will be used to restock their empty pantry shelves for current and/or future community service events that they sponsor. You can make monetary donations to myself or directly to their site at http://www.lafoodbank.org/virtual-food-drive/donor-pledge.aspx?member=99342517FBBDCBFB04EDE0CBF1F0A5B0. 50% of all unspecified monetary donations will be issued to FMBS Inc. for the same purpose - providing meals to underprivileged families in our local communities during the holiday seasons. Help us be a blessing in the lives of those in need. If it were you in need, wouldn't you want someone to help you and your family? Please do NOT feel limited to supporting the food drive. NOPE! We will also be participating in our FIRST major event on the 19th; we will be participating in the 2nd annual 5k run/walk marathon for the National Brain Tumor Society, to help raise awareness about brain tumors. We will be walking in honor of our friend Jennifer Robinson, a brain tumor SURVIVOR. NO MATTER how large or small, YOUR contributions and support BENEFIT people in need. I encourage you to JOIN our cause. You may run/walk with us on OCTOBER 19th in support of brain tumor awareness ("register" to "join a team" under my name [Tylesha Allen] or my organization's name [FMBS Inc.]) or make a monetary pledge at http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/Team_Jenn_R to help us reach our goal of $1,000. Or, simply take this opportunity to make a charitable donation in support of our organization's normal operations - serving underprivileged communities and individuals of ALL ages in and around Southern California, via the PayPal link located on our website at http://www.fmbs-inc-bytye.org/. On behalf of my team of volunteers, I thank you in advance for your contributions, donations, pledges, support, and for SHARING/PROMOTING these events to bring awareness to our efforts. ~Tylesha Allen, CEO/Founder of FMBS Inc.~
As we continue to work together to spread God’s Gospel, let us also encourage one another to take steps that lead to a healthy overall mind, body, and soul; TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.).Have you fed your spirit today? CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN, so START YOUR TRANSFORMATION TODAY, because tomorrow is NOT promised. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. "To IMPROVE is to CHANGE" - Winston Churchill. God Bless!
Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
Passage - I Samuel 16:7 (NLT):
"People judge by outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
***Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture quotations are taken from the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible***
Thoughts for Today:
"It is said that you can't judge a book by its cover. You have to examine what's inside. Isn't it the same with people? When we judge them by what's on the outside, we can miss what they are really all about. And yet, how often do we make quick judgments about individuals based only on what we see?
"Look at that. That girl has three earrings in her nose! She must be wild and weird."
"Look at those tattoos. I'll bet he's never set a foot in church."
"I can't understand that religious fanatic. He is more heavenly minded than earthly good." Because of what we see on the outside, we judge, reject or just ignore "those kinds of people." We never try to get to know them. And so we may miss an opportunity to encourage, to help, or even to be blessed ourselves by the good inside of them that we will never see.
Consider this ...
Aren't you glad Jesus doesn't look just at the outside of us, that He cares enough to see what's really going on inside? The next time you come into contact with someone who looks or acts a little different, ask God for Christ-like vision, and spend some time getting to know the individual. You might be in for some pleasant surprises!"

This lesson reminds me of my personal experiences with being judged by my outward appearance. Individuals who I have encountered during my lifetime, who were NOT afraid to find out more about me, learned that I was nothing like they had expected. I am typically brushed off as "conceited," "stuck-up," "mean," and "unapproachable." The funny part is, I have heard those exact descriptions of myself from both stranger and even family members who have FAILED to get to know the "real me." Yes, I have many tattoos, and yes I have a handful of piercing, but does that limit my character to one that is shallow, hardcore, rough around the edges, or insensitive? The obvious answer is ... Ironically, judging someone by their outer appearance may lead you to assume much more of them at the same rate that people think less of someone based on how they look. Perhaps someone has expensive taste and uses his or her last dime to buy the hot new trends in fashion. Does that fact that he or she is wearing Versace make him or her rich or wealthy? Just because a person wears clothes or socks with holes in them, or dingy jeans even, doesn't make them poor. Don't you have a favorite clothing item that you find hard to parts ways with? Me, I'm just cheap, so I have clothes I will keep wearing until they literally fall apart, does that mean I am poor? NO! Just because someone is homeless, does NOT mean that they are panhandling because they lost all their money consuming drugs? Homeless people are not always "too lazy to work," and they aren't always "scamming to avoid using their own funds"; some people lost their life savings as a result of a scam against them; some are veterans who lost their homes and families due to the ignorance revolving around their PTSD; some people lost their jobs and cannot afford to live in this economy; some people have lost their minds and are rejected by society and some shelters; and some people simply have no where else to turn and they lack the resources to get back on their feet. Have you ever taken the time to find out a homeless person's name, why they were living on the streets, and how long have they been homeless? I have ... it is alarming just how many needy individuals are in their predicament due to unforeseen misfortune as opposed to choice, and even more surprising how much better lifted in spirits they are than people who have three times as much to be thankful for then they do. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS! There's ALWAYS a possibility that your role and economic status can be reversed.
Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for looking at our hearts, and for caring enough to see our true identity; help us do the same when we look at others. Transform us into an image that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. We ask for forgiveness of everything that we have thought, said, or did, that was not pleasing in your sight. Give us the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant forgiveness to us. Also, place upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More importantly Father, whatever guilt we've place on self, allow us to release so that we may forgive ourselves. Help us to release all negativity stored within. Lord we speak healing upon Jessica, releasing all ailments from her body, rendering immediate comfort, and placing upon her the peace that passes her own understanding. May Tylesha's efforts and those of her organization, FMBS Inc., flourish into an empire founded by the Word of God; may all of Tylesha's endeavors be productive and effective, may she and the members of her organization prosper and excel in abundance, far exceeding mere success as a whole, but achieving their full potential as individuals and as an organization. Bless us with a double portion of your Spirit Father. Close every unnecessary door that is open in our lives, and open supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. Provide each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Help us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation. Help us to reevaluate our lifestyles, and to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. Provide discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. We thank you for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
