When Help Can Harm (10/7/13)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God! I hope that yall had a wonderful weekend and I pray that your week has started off on a good note. If not, PROCLAIM that the adversary be INEFFECTIVE in ANY attempts he makes against you, and TRUST that the Lord has already worked it out; remind yourself of the AUTHORITY in YOUR WORDS to claim and accept CONTROL over evil. Now, I'm going to keep it real with yall, I have been falling victim to laziness. Last week, I can't even really blame my fatigue on anything but laziness. Despite being on a new medication regimen, and actually getting to bed at a decent hour, I've allowed myself to miss out on this fellowship; just as much as these messages talk to you, they speak to me as well. As I fellowship with you, I too am learning and growing. Forgive me for my past negligence and in advance if I allow sleep to replace my fellowship. As much as I adore sleep, I do NOT want to be caught sleeping when our Lord returns, and neither should you. With that being said, our healthy challenge this week comes from Shape.com: "Keep meals simple. Delicious, healthy food doesn’t have to contain a lot of ingredients. Keep your meal ingredients to a minimum—just be sure to include a source of whole grains, lean protein and healthy fat at each meal. For example, veggies and shrimp stir fried in sesame oil over a bed of brown rice seems restaurant quality but can be whipped up faster than takeout." Be encouraged!

Please join our cause! I would like to remind everyone that Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.) has partnered up with the LA Foodbank in our FIRST food drive which began on October 1, 2013, and will continue through to November 20, 2013; we are soliciting both NON-perishable food items (at least 350 lbs) and/or monetary donations (a goal of $350) on behalf of the LA Foodbank. For every $1 collected, they are able to provide four meals. All food items will be used to restock their empty pantry shelves for current and/or future community service events that they sponsor. You can make monetary donation to myself or directly on their site at http://www.lafoodbank.org/virtual-food-drive/donor-pledge.aspx?member=99342517FBBDCBFB04EDE0CBF1F0A5B0. 50% of all unspecified monetary donations will be issued to FMBS Inc. for the same purpose - providing meals throughout the year to underprivileged individuals and families in our local communities, especially during the holiday season. Help us be a blessing in the lives of those in need.If it were your family in need, wouldn't you want someone to reach out to you? Please do NOT feel limited to supporting the food drive. We will also be participating in our FIRST major event on the 19th; the 2nd annual 5k run/walk marathon for the National Brain Tumor Society, to help raise awareness about brain tumors. We will be walking in honor of our friend Jennifer Robinson, a brain tumor SURVIVOR. NO MATTER how large or small, YOUR contributions and support BENEFIT people in need. I encourage you to JOIN our cause. You may run/walk with us on OCTOBER 19th in support of brain tumor awareness ("register" to "join a team" under my name [Tylesha Allen] or my organization's name [FMBS Inc.]) or make a monetary pledge at http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/Team_Jenn_R to help us reach our goal of $1,000. Or, simply take this opportunity to make a charitable donation in support of our organization's normal operations - serving underprivileged communities and individuals of ALL ages in and around Southern California, via the PayPal link located on our website at http://www.fmbs-inc-bytye.org/. On behalf of my team of volunteers, I thank you in advance for your contributions, donations, pledges, support, and for SHARING/PROMOTING these events to bring awareness to our efforts.  ~Tylesha Allen, CEO/Founder of FMBS Inc.~

As we continue to work together to spread God’s Gospel, let us also encourage one another to take steps that lead to a healthy overall mind, body, and soul; TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.).Have you fed your spirit today? CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN, so START YOUR TRANSFORMATION TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcomeDo NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!  "To IMPROVE is to CHANGE" - Winston Churchill.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Proverbs 19:19 (NLT):

Thoughts for Today:
"When someone we care about is struggling with a life-controlling problem, we naturally want to help. But sometimes, even though we have the best intentions, our efforts hurt more than they help … and we end up enabling our loved one to continue in the destructive behavior. Negative consequences naturally flow from wrong behaviors. When we intervene and prevent someone from experiencing those consequences, they have no reason to change their behavior. We enable them to continue.

Consider this …

Enabling is progressive. It begins by making small allowances for someone's irresponsible behavior and gradually progresses until our lives are dominated by trying to cure and control our loved one. A line must be drawn to avoid the progression. The first time you bail someone out, that's mercy. The second time, it is enabling."

This particular lesson, to me, speaks to people who allow their loved ones to run over them; they allow them to continuously "borrow" funds and not repay the loan; live in your quarters without paying room and board; eat all your food without offering money for groceries; destroying your property and not replacing it; or perhaps they are guilty of substance, physical, mental, or emotional abuse. Whatever the case, allowing them to continue to neglect you and/or avoid responsibility does NOT help them get back on their feet. Rather, this influences them to continue in the same bad habits; he or she will continue to test the water, seeing how far they can go without being held accountable. Remember this, a person will only do what YOU allow him or her to do. Take charge!

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. Transform us into an image that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. We ask for forgiveness of everything that we have thought, said, or did, that was not pleasing in your sight. Give us the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant forgiveness to us. Also, place upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More importantly Father, whatever guilt we've place on self, allow us to release so that we may forgive ourselves. Help us to release all negativity stored within. Lord we want so much to help our loved ones. We have tried to take care of them, to "fix" things, to keep them from suffering. But we see now that continually rescuing them is just prolonging the problem and even making it worse. Help us to trust you more. Help us to stand back and allow them to learn the lessons you intended, that they may grow closer to you in the Spirit and will improve in their overall way of living. Bless us with a double portion of your Spirit Father. Close every unnecessary door that is open in our lives, and open supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. Provide each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Help us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation. Help us to reevaluate our lifestyles, and to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. Provide discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. We thank you for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
