Taste the Lord (1/14/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. Please remember to bear with me through my technological hiatus... I'll reiterate that it is not in my budget to replace any of my electronic devices at this time. Therefore, production gaps for the SOD will continue until I am able to invest in a more reliable system. However, that was not the case for yesterday's SOD. My Sunday workout consisted of jogging around the neighborhood with 10 lbs ankle weights and pushups at every corner. For some reason I had a sleepless night that evening. Needless to say that Monday I was still sore, and fell asleep next to my laptop... my intention was to write the SOD but I was so exhausted, I ended up waking up around 1:00 AM with my arms stuck in position and hardly able to move. I decided that this would be my workout routine on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so despite having woke up still in pain today, I completed the workout; through my asthmatic complications, and a very broken jog as I struggled with cramping calves, my boyfriend was cheated from his own workout while he encouraged me to complete my own. My healthy living tip for today is this... if you are not self-motivated when it comes to fitness, then pair up with someone who enjoys working out and can handle the challenge of motivating others to reach his or her level. And if that's too complicated, find something that does motivate you: your ideal pants or dress size; losing the one-piece and cover-up for a bikini or bare chest and swim trunks; or just simply looking good as you lay out in the sun tanning on an island or by the pool. Think about how you feel when you look at yourself in the mirror, and how you would like to look in your clothes. Then set your own fitness goal by determining the results you desire. Most importantly, work to achieve them. "No pain, no gain," right? There is NO magic diet that will get you fit; fitness requires dedication to physical activity and in some cases, nutritional changesIf you keep trying the same thing, and have yet to achieve your ideal body, then you will continue to render the same end results. TIME FOR YOU TO DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT! That applies not only to your fitness, but to everyday life and spirituality. To reach new heights you must try NEW things. "To IMPROVE is to CHANGE" ~Winston Churchill~  #Be encouraged!

TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcomeDo NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Proverbs 20:17:
"Stolen bread tastes sweet, but it turns to gravel in the mouth."

***Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture quotations are taken from the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible***

"Many of us have been approached in a supermarket by someone conducting a taste test. They want us to test two or more products and then respond by telling them which product was the one that we liked the best. It’s sometimes hard to distinguish one product from another if the products are extremely similar. But there are other times when we might be offered something that we like against something we do not really care for. In Psalm 34:8, David encourages us to, "Taste and see that the LORD is good.” If we held a taste test between item "a" (The Lord), and item "b" (the world), which do you think would win? Consider the tasters in the test. They may be people who have been enjoying item "b" for all their lives. Many have not tasted item "a" at all. But, an accurate account of a new taste cannot be discovered while the old one lingers in your mouth. That is why it is necessary to turn away from the things we have tasted all our lives as we come to God. We cannot get a true representation of God's person while we cling to those things of the earth that tickle our taste buds." (Chambers, R. (2014). Taste the Lord. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org).

As usual, the SOD is speaking directly to me. This won't be my first nor my last time saying this, I AM A SINNER, I admit that. I am super flawed but the SOD helps me to fellowship with others, to share my testimonies, and to be renewed and transformed by the Word of God. Does this lesson not speak volumes to you? Man, the world can sometimes be a real treat... it's like that perfect piece of dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth; that cold glass of water to quench your thirst; a hot bath to soothe your aching muscles; or that money you find in your pocket just when you thought you spent your last dime. But how does the taste of the world compare to righteousness? You WILL NOT discover that answer until you MAKE A CHOICE on which side of the fence you want to walk on. You will NEVER reach your full potential or receive your full blessings from God if you keep trying to divide your time with Him and the world. It's funny because in the Bible, we witness the many people in their unconventional lifestyles be transformed to do great things; murderers, adulterers, and a prostitute became the Lord's disciples, and for whatever reason, he chose me to develop an online ministry. How is that humanly possible or rational? It's NOT, it is something that makes spiritual sense, and something that is made POSSIBLE ONLY THROUGH CHRIST. I won't pretend to be a saint, but I am working to become more like one. A spiritual transformation does NOT happen over night, it is a gradual process that requires YOU to DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT in order to achieve God's true plan for your life.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for a 180 degree turn-around which transforms our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
