Weary and Burdened (1/21/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. Please remember to bear with me through my technological hiatus... I'll reiterate that it is not in my budget to replace any of my electronic devices at this time. Therefore, production gaps for the SOD will continue until I am able to invest in a more reliable system. Additionally, the SOD is not in production on the weekends, holidays, or my vacation days. However, God NEVER takes a break, He has a 24/7 prayer line; the Lord is waiting patiently for YOU to call on Him... We are 21 days into the new year, have you done anything differently yet? If so, have you noticed any positive changes (share your testimony)? If not, then HOW can you have the audacity to expect God to change anything around for you? God is like our supervisor; He assesses our productivity and our works as they fall in line with His will. He expects us to be rooted in Him, if you have yet to make at least one change that will promote a positive transformation, then God's review shall render no promotion or recognitionWHY should God change things in our lives if we cannot muster the desire to alter things in our own lives in accordance to His commands? We have enough time, energy, and dedication to watch reality TV, to participate in various self-serving activities, and to satisfy our sinful desires. Yet, when it's time for us to serve our Heavenly Father we find ourselves too weak, too sick, and more dedicated to the couch than producing good works; if what you give God is laziness, excuses, and lack of interest in His will, then EXPECT Him to be equally active in your individual affairs. To reach new heights you must DO something NEW... eat healthier, be more active, immerse yourself in the Word of God daily, and pray without ceasing. Leave the past where it belongs, and move in a DIFFERENT direction toward your future. "To IMPROVE is to CHANGE" ~Winston Churchill~  #Be encouraged!

It's that time again for Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.) to raise funds for our day-to-day operations. For the duration of this month until the 1st week of February, we are PRE-selling See's Candies in lieu of Valentine's Day. This is an opportunity for you to be romantic if not any other day of the year; get your significant other, your boo-thang, a co-worker, and/ or a loved one a gift to show them how much you appreciate them. We pride ourselves on servicing needy individuals in underprivileged communities throughout Southern California. Due to the setback of new laws restricting people from feeding the homeless, we now provide them with essential packs that include but are not limited to: nose tissue, deodorant, soap, wash cloths, toothpaste, toothbrush, reading material, lotion, hand sanitizer, bath wipes, chap stick, $5-10 food gift cards, bottled water, etc. Additionally, we provide needy families with meal boxes during the holidays; for Christmas, a gift is added per each child in the household. Soon, we will be adding mentoring at-risk youth to our list of services; we will discuss various topics such as higher education, safe sex, career goals, etc. Lastly, throughout the year, we support deployed veterans and their families with care packages. These are only beginner steps for our organization. With YOUR help, we WILL prosper and advance our activeness within the community, eventually expanding to other coasts. Please be aware that our solicitation for monetary donations and/or contributions of time, hygiene items, and clothing items is a YEAR-ROUND campaign that YOU are encouraged to participate in whenever you can. We are a NON-profit 501(c)(3) federally exempt organization, which means that ALL donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. NO matter how big or small your contribution or donation is, YOU are helping someone in need. If you were on the receiving end and needed a helping hand, wouldn't you want someone to reach out to you? Accept this opportunity to HELP LIVES. Take a look at the attached form and make your Valentine's Day purchase, or simply make a donation and/or contribution; make all checks payable to FMBS Inc., provide one of our representatives with your cash donation/contribution, or use the PayPal link located on our website. We are successful because of YOUR continued support. Please join our cause!

TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcomeDo NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Matthew 11:28:
"Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.'"

***Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture quotations are taken from the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible***

"It doesn't matter any more," I barely uttered aloud, "None of it matters." My wife asked me what I was talking about. "All the things that were bothering me; they just don't matter anymore," I replied. This took place shortly after I turned over my life to Jesus. I had encountered Him. I had looked into His face. And everything else faded in comparison. Since that time, I have had my share of setbacks--times when I struggle and let things "matter" in such a way that I become burdened by the weight of my troubles. All the while, Jesus is still there, waiting for me to turn to Him and look into His face--waiting to again lift the burdens. And when I turn to Him, I am again awestruck by the extraordinary way that all those things that seem to matter, simply fade in comparison to Him. Are you weary and burdened? Go to Jesus and do not leave His presence until you feel His calming rest assurance that all is well--that He is right there with you--and He will manage for you all the things that truly matter." (Chambers, R. (2014). Weary and burdened. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org).

Why is it that we are so consumed by the matters of this world? NOTHING in this world will follow us into our graves. The only true goal and concern of our hearts should be making sure that our relationship with Christ is on the right path. If the trumpets sounded today, we should rest assured that we will be amongst those who will ascend to meet Jesus in the clouds. Jesus said that if we deny Him before man that He will deny us before God (refer to Matthew 10:32-33). If you saw Jesus in a line-up would you be able to recognize Him? How much do you really know about our Lord? To know Him is to know the Word. Can you quote any scriptures? How much of the Word can you accurately reference? I was raised in a Baptist church, and was later introduced to Seventh-Day Adventism in my early teens. In both Sunday School and Sabbath School, we were given Bible passages to memorize weekly; back then I would be able to recite verses verbatim. But as time passed and allowed myself to become more in-tune with the world rather than the Word, those memorized texts slowly slipped my mind. That should NOT be the case. God invests in us by providing us with new opportunities every moment we breathe, and He looks for a return on His investment through the fruits of our works. When we are rooted in the Word we will become grounded in God. The more rooted we are in God the more fruit we'll produce, NOT because the flesh all of a sudden wants to be more holy rather, the production of "fruit" becomes a natural transformation within us; when we dwell in Him, He will dwell in us (refer to I John 4:13).

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for a 180 degree turn-around which transforms our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
