FREE-Will (2/8/12)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! I took a small nap earlier due to a migraine tryna brew today. I should've remained sleeping, but I have been chilling with my fam at my parents' this week, and my mommy (yeah I still call her that even though I'll be 31 next month, so? LOL) made me go to my old room. But that's what the enemy wants, me to sleep on the SOD, so instead I will proceed with today's production. Today's Black History Month focus is on Eunice Roberta Hunton Carter (1899-1970). She broke down racial and gender barriers by becoming one of New York's first African American female lawyers, and then becoming one of the first district attorneys of color in the United States. Carter put together a massive prostitution racketeering case that eventually led to Mafia boss Lucky Luciano. She later became active in the United Nations, serving on committees that advocated for improving the status of women, she also served on the board of the Y.W.C.A., and served on the Executive Committee of the International Council of Women (an organization with representatives from 37 countries). Now for the prayer requests: my aunt and uncle-in-law LaTanya and Everett (concern unknown), Tara (court date), Randy Cornejo (speedy recovery), Melanie Bridges (suspects child abuse at the hands of her 6 y/o granddaughter's school), and for myself (a better employment opportunity). Thanks in advance. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversityGod Bless!

Passage Romans 6:6-7 (NLT):
"We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin."

Romans 6:19-23 says, "Because of the weakness of your human nature, I am using the illustration of slavery to help you understand all this. Previously, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin. Now you must give yourselves to be slaves to righteous living so that you will become holy. When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. And what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, things that end in eternal doom. But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God. Now you do those things that lead to holiness and result in eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord." Can anyone walk on both sides of a fence at the same time? NO, at least I'm sure no human can. Anyway, we are given the choice between two masters, the devil or God; if we choose to do things according to our own will, then the choice we make is NOT one that follows God's guidelines, rather the instruction mapped out by the adversary (secular influences, temporary fleshly pleasures, the world's perspective). We are FREE to make a choice between whom or what we choose to worship, however, we are NOT entitled to negotiating the consequences of our actions/decisions. Our reward for choosing to follow God is life, which begins here on Earth and remains eternal with our Lord. But a life led by selfishness, worldly influences, and satan's touch, leads to imminent death. Those people from our ancestry, not just of African American decent, whom were held captive against their will, had NO choice but to submit to bondage and be obedient to their dominators. Today however, we are afforded the free-will to choose eternal life through Jesus, or definite death. Which choice will you make?

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for all that you have blessed us with, our goings as well as our comings Father. Lord we ask now that you will tend to LaTanya and Everett's need according to your will. We thank you in advance for Tara's victory over her court proceedings. We thank you for Randy's complete and speedy recovery from the tears in his biceps; we claim healing now in the name of Jesus, so that Randy will not be subjected to anymore surgeries. Father God we thank you for the strength and comfort granted to Melanie and her family as they investigate the suspected child abuse against her granddaughter; we also thank you for justice against any foul play rendered, and for speedy recovery from the consistent injuries her granddaughter allegedly sustained while playing at school. Lord we thank you now for a new employment opportunity for Tylesha, that she may settle into a new position which offers advancement, and removes her from an overwhelmingly stressful environment. Lord we thank you for the authority to claim and accept victory over the enemy and defeat over sin. We thank you for the ability in our own words to speak life into every situation, speaking prosperity, success, and positivity into existence. We use the power of our tongue to reverse all negativity we once spoke into our own lives, and we bind now the negativity spoken by others, and make their words ineffective against us in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we thank you for your continued protection, everlasting love, and mercy. This is our affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

~~ Tylesha ~~
"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8)
