All praises to Christ for living! God is good all the time, ain't He? No matter what I am going through mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially, I know that my testimony may help someone else. Hallelujah! Today's Black History focus is Mary Ann Shadd Cary (1823-1893). She founded a racially integrated school with the support of the American Missionary Association, and she helped found the Provincial Freeman newspaper in 1853, along with Samuel Ringgold Ward, promoting temperance, moral reform, civil rights and black self-help while attacking the racial discrimination Blacks faced within North America. It was one of the longest published black newspapers until the Civil War. During the Civil War, she served as a recruiting officer to enlist Black volunteers for the Union Army in the state of Indiana. After the Civil War, she taught in Black schools in Wilmington, before moving to Washington, D.C., where she taught in public schools and attended Howard University School of Law. Cary graduated as a lawyer in 1883, becoming only the second Black woman in the United States to earn a law degree. She wrote for the newspapers National Era and The People's Advocate. Cary was the first African American woman to cast a vote in a national election. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage Romans 6:6-7 (NLT):
"We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin."
Romans 6:11-14 says, "So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus. Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. Instead, you live under the freedom of God's grace." Once we have accepted Christ as Savior, we are no longer obligated to our old sinful nature, therefore we should consider our old-selves dead to the power of the enemy through sin; our new identification should be one that mirrors the image of Christ. We were made anew by the blood of the Lamb and therefore set free from our past downfalls; sin is longer master, the enemy is no longer king, but GOD is our Almighty Authority who reigns over all of our affairs, and grants us the power in our very own words to claim defeat over the adversary, and victory in prosperity. Through Christ we may accept our blessing of good over evil.
Prayer of the Day:
Father God we praise your Holy name, thanking you for life, health, and strength. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper in the name of Jesus. We thank you for the power of our very own mouth to claim and accept victory over the enemy and defeat over sin. We thank you for the ability in our own words to speak life into every situation, speaking prosperity, success, and positivity into existence. We use the power of the tongue to reverse all negativity we once spoke into our own lives, and we bind now the negativity spoken by our enemies, and make their words ineffective against us in the name of Jesus. Lord we thank you for your continued protection and mercy. We praise you for your everlasting love and grace. This is our affirmation of faith in the matchless name of Jesus, Amen!
