The blessing I could be (2/24/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. Please remember that production gaps for the SOD will continue until I am able to invest in a more reliable computer system, I thank you in advance for your understanding. Now let's move forward... "Many patients at my Natural Health Center have had remarkable results in curing colds and flu within 12 to 14 hours when administering a few drops of 3 percent hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) into each ear. You will hear some bubbling, which is completely normal, and possibly feel a slight stinging sensation. Wait until the bubbling and stinging subside (usually 5 to 10 minutes), then drain onto a tissue and repeat with the other ear... Supplements can be beneficial for colds... Some of the more helpful options for cold (and flu) -- above and beyond vitamin D – are listed in the following: 1) zinc - when taken within the one day of the first cold symptoms, zinc can reduce the duration of your cold by about 24 hours and reduce the severity of your symptoms, according to a Cochrane Review of 15 clinical trials; 2) olive leaf extract - ancient Egyptians and Mediterranean cultures used it for a variety of health purposes, and it is widely known as a natural, non-toxic immune system builder; 3) a tea made from a combination of elderflower, yarrow, boneset, linden, peppermint and ginger: drink it hot and often for combating a cold or flu. It causes you to sweat, which is helpful for eradicating the virus from your system." (Mercola, J. TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Psalm 61:1:
"May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us."

"
I think of the blessing I could be to others, and how they are not even aware of it. But it is not me, but Jesus who resides within me. I have seen Him bless others through me, and I know He is able to do even more. But sometimes the offer is extended and politely ignored. I think of the blessing I could be to others, and how I am often too busy to consider it. I have seen Jesus work through me to bring His goodness into the lives of others, but there are times too much of me gets in the way–preventing His blessing from being shared. I think of the blessing that Christ could be to others, and how often we fail to grasp the truth of it. Pride prevents me from letting others bless me, and selfishness prevents me from letting Him bless others through me. I would hope and pray that one day we will not look back on our lives regretfully, when we consider the potential we had to be a blessing, and we let those moments pass."

The featured devotional today seemed poetic in form, yet there is an eye-opening message we should all consider - the blessing we can be to others. Our own reservations sometimes stand in the way of us sharing our blessings; for example, due to preconceived notions that beggars are drug addicts and/or drunks, people are less inclined to give a panhandler spare change. Or, perhaps we are too absorbed in the pleasure we will get out of holiday gatherings, that we find ourselves "too busy" to volunteer some of our time during the holidays in a soup kitchen, or canvassing the community to offer our services to people in need. When Jesus had to feed the multitude, do you think he was selfish and withheld the fish a bread for him and his disciples? No, instead He stretched the food items and formed a miracle to feed the vast individuals. Many of us would automatically shut the door on someone seeking refuge, shelter, or food if we thought it would take away from our own mouths or households. However, we are commanded to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Do you make loved ones provide an explanation when they ask for spare change? If a loved one showed up to your home, even if your pantry was almost empty and you had no spare rooms available only the couch, would you turn him or her away? So then why are we so quick to turn our backs to strangers in need, or even taking "an-eye-for-an-eye" stance when it comes to people we do not get along with? Our objective as children of Christ is to extend our blessings to others and stretch them as far as they can go; we should NOT be judging others before consideration of their worthiness, we should simply give a helping hand whenever and however we can. What blessing can you be?

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
