Gone to seed (3/6/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. REMINDER: FMBS Inc. will be conducting our next community service event in a few weeks; we will canvass local communities in search of homeless individuals to provide toiletry gift bags to, as well as supplying them with a list of other helpful resources that may assist with shelter, food, clothing, etc. If you would like to make a monetary donation (refer to the PayPal link on our website), or a contribution of some sort, please reach out to myself or to one of my volunteers. We thank you in advance for your support. Now, let's move forward with today's healthy living tip... "Balanced living is when you can always offset any negative events in your life with positive ones. It is also when you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Balanced living is when you are happy working and playing equally (para 3)... If you want to live a balanced life then there are 5 essential habits that you need to develop: 1) awareness and mindfulness - a mindful person lives in the present and does not get obsessed with the future or the past. It’s important to plan for the future and learn from your mistakes in the past; 2) appreciation of your body - making healthy choices in life, exercising and being generally active, eating a balanced and healthy diet, letting your body rest when it’s tired and pampering it every once in a while; 3) creativity - lets us turn our dreams into reality, turn play into work and work into play, and enjoy life even when it seems empty; 4) patience - with patience you can see results in all your endeavors and you do not have to spend the precious time of your life getting mad or infuriated; 5) simplicity - the most important part of life balance. When you build your life around simplicity you reduce the number of out-of-balance things that can disrupt your happy living (para 4)... Living in balance is easy and very rewarding because your life becomes the one of joy, happiness and serenity (para 5)" (Goers, A. TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this  fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - John 12:24:
"I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives."

"
I remember seeing in someone’s yard, grass that had grown so tall it had tassels on top. It wasn’t a common sight to see. Most folks kept their yards mowed and pleasant looking. I remember someone describing the grass as having “gone to seed.” In John 12:24, Jesus expressed to His disciples the purpose of His death that was soon approaching. He knew that through His death, many would find life. To Him, the cost was not too great. At times, we may wonder what it will take to bring a lost world to the saving knowledge of Jesus. Perhaps it’s the same now as always—that life comes through giving up life. Perhaps it will take Christians willing to lay down their lives, their rights, and their ambitions—all for the sake of others. Perhaps then, when we let ourselves go to seed, perhaps then, new life will come

.

This message reminds me of the process of becoming a born again Christian. As sinners, we are spiritually dead (refer to Ephesians 2:1), but when we accept Christ as Lord and begin to become one with Him, we are "born again." Humans are born in flesh, but God requires us to be born in the Spirit as well - rebirth (refer to John 3:3-7). II Corinthians 5:17 says, "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"; "... all who believed Him and accepted Him, He gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God" (John 12-13). Yesterday we talked about the importance of grooming ourselves spiritually, mentally, and physically; a key factor in pruning our spiritual, mental, and physical being is making a CHANGE in our lives - a renovation if you willIn order to be different, we must do something different in our lives: we must change our thought process and reevaluate our actions and reactions; we have to assess what things we cannot change, figure out which things we can change, and then accept our past while improving our future. If you have never sought God's guidance before making a life-changing decision, then you need to be reborn. If you can't quote a single scripture by heart, then you need to be born again in the Spirit. If people cannot see God in you, and have a hard time distinguishing you - a so-called Christian from a non-believer, then it is time for a rebirth. Understand this, I AM NO better than anyone reading this, I am simply a sinner with a desire to strengthen my faith and spiritual growth; as your sister in Christ, I have the same aspiration for you to develop an unbreakable oneness with God. Together, we can help cultivate believers as we ourselves sustain a true spiritual renewal.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
