What is the world coming to? (3/5/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. Just a heads up, my organization will be conducting our next community service event in a few weeks; we will canvass local communities in search of homeless individuals to provide toiletry gift bags to, as well as supplying them with a list of other helpful resources that may assist with shelter, food, clothing, etc. If you would like to make a monetary donation, or a contribution of some sort, please reach out to myself or one of my volunteers. We thank you in advance for your support. Now, let's move forward with today's healthy living tip... "Oil pulling is the act of swishing a natural oil around in the mouth first thing every morning to clean and nourish the teeth and gums. It is said to remove plaque and eliminate toxins as well as providing overall health and wellness benefits (para 1)... Although oil pulling is still considered a new healing concept in countries such as the United States, it has been used as a method of healing for many centuries in countries such as China and India (para 5)... This technique is considered a form of alternative healing and it involves swishing an edible oil such as coconut oil or sunflower oil in your mouth for 15 minutes to 20 minutes and then spitting the oil out [in the trash NOT the sink or toilet]. You are supposed to avoid swallowing any of the oil during the process (para 5)... It sounds very simple and it is actually simple to do. Not only is oil pulling simple, it is also very powerful. Oil pulling provides many different types of health benefits. Detox is one of the surprising benefits of oil pulling that many people are not aware of. It is very effective at removing toxins from the body when performed on a regular basis. Increased metabolism is another benefit of oil pulling. It increases the rate in which the body burns fat, and therefore, the method can help a person lose those stubborn excess pounds. Once you learn how to do oil pulling, your body will eventually be restored to its natural weight (para 6). The best time of the day to perform oil pulling is in the morning before you have had anything to eat or drink. You will then take one tablespoon full of the oil that you have chosen [refer to the website for the specific oil types] and pour the oil into your mouth (para 7)... You will then begin to swish the oil around in your mouth. Move it around as if it were mouthwash, but avoid gargling or tilting your head back. The oil will become diluted as saliva begins to mix in (para 7)... The best way to tell that the process is working is by looking at the color and consistency of the oil. If the oil turns into a milky looking substance, the oil is effectively removing the toxins from the body. After you have completed your oil pulling session, you will then need to rinse your mouth with warm salt water. You can use regular table salt for the rinse. The number of times a week you choose to oil pull is up to you (para 8)" (Coconut Oil Pulling. (2014). TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - II Timothy 3:1-4:
"You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God."

"
Many believe we are in the last days; many believe we have been for some time. Only God knows when all things will converge according to His will to bring us into the final days of the last days. As time goes by--as the final days draw near to the fullness of time--we can be certain we will see the decay of all things. Morality becomes more subjective. Civility and decency toward others declines. The world itself will tremble and weaken as the disease of humanity’s sin eats away as a cancer in the bones of all creation. We live in a world which grows more hedonistic by the day. The hedonism has penetrated the walls of the church; and, many within the church embrace worldly things once considered disgraceful. The world will wallow in sin, but the church must not. The church must draw a distinct line. God’s people must remember that as His followers we are to take up our cross. While the world pursues personal happiness and self fulfillment; we are to pursue God in truth and with all our being.

In case you were wondering what hedonistic means, it is the pursuit of pleasure - self-indulgence. I'm sure many of you don't bother to read everything in the SODs, so you may have skipped over the paragraph encouraging everyone to be mindful and careful about what things we allow to enter our bodies - physically, mentally, and spiritually speaking. It's funny how we are so quick to point fingers at the obvious - gothic people, people who practice witchcraft, individuals who openly reject God, and/or people who follow different spiritual or religious practices than ourselves. Yet, we fail to see the importance of separating ourselves from the ways of this world: we think it's okay to listen to, and allow our children to listen to the garbage they call "Hip Hop" - kids know more lyrics to these negatively influencing (sex, drugs, money, killing, etc.) songs than they know how to read, write, or spell; we fail to see how repetitiously filling our minds with such trash, tends to influence our behaviors; our desires and goals then begin to lean on that which we have ingested in the form of TV and music (fake hair, fake breast, trendy clothes [sagging in skinny jeans], designer clothes and purses, and the on-going pursuit of "mo'money, mo'money, mo'money"); we forget that as children ourselves, we were active - we played outside, read books, or played board games as entertainment; instead of making our children be more productive, we enable them to skip on homework or reading, to play video games or watch TV all day and become couch potatoes; and we fail to implement the values and morals from our older generations, thus, respect is lost in the newer generations. They say, "you are what you eat," well let's think about that literally and figuratively speaking: when you trash your mind with filthy things and surround yourself by negative influences, eventually your character will be altered; when you consume unhealthy food and junk, your nutrition, health, and body are physically compromised. Everything that we watch, listen to, read, eat, drink, put into our mouths and allow to spew out from our mouths, all affect our overall well-being. In these uncertain days, we must STRIVE HARDER than our counterparts and work to INFLUENCE OTHERS so that they too may ditch the pursuit of money, power, and pleasure to pursue a life of eternal happiness, contentment, and peace with the Lord.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
