Reach for a stalk of celery to banish the nagging discomfort of indigestion, and make it a regular part of your diet to help control blood pressure" (Simon, N. (2013, December). TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Exodus 4:10:
"But Moses pleaded with the Lord, "O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled."

"
Imagine being asked to preach if you have never preached. Imagine still, that you have a fear of public speaking. What answer do you give to the one who has asked? Do you tell them that it is not your gift or your calling? Imagine being asked to do something outside your comfort zone that would be sure to cause you some anxiety just thinking about doing it. Perhaps you can relate to Moses and the trepidation he felt as God asked him to speak to Pharaoh. But God said to in reply to Moses, "Who gave human beings their mouths? …Is it not I, the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say" (Exo. 4:11-12). There will no doubt be times the Lord will ask you to do something that challenges you, or maybe even frightens you. But take hope in the words, "whomever God calls, He also equips." Regardless of the task He asks of you--small or great--He is ready and able to help you to do it. It is not, after all, ourselves that we rely on; we rely on God for all things, in all things. And in so doing, He can use us in ways we would never have dreamed"

This particular lesson reminded me of my early days in the Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) church. I had been newly introduced to that denomination in my teenage years. Before I continue, I am in no way claiming a denomination. Rather, I prefer to attend SDA church because it is where I feel I am best fed in the Spirit; I am a Christian and as a believer in Christ, I believe denominations separate the "church" - us. I respect everyone's preferences and ask for it to be reciprocated. Anyway, SDA church service typically begins with a meet and greet, announcements, and an offering which goes toward children's educational scholarships, which is then followed by a children's bible-based story. I do not recall who had asked me, but I was asked to present the children's story one Sabbath; I was so nervous. What was I going to share with the kids? How would I grab their attention? Would I even be able to articulate the story well enough for them to understand what I was talking about? I was down-right scurred. It's true that once I am engaged, my conversation may flow and even ramble at times, but public speaking is awkward and nerve wrecking for me. Although technically my audience was a group of children, we were sitting at the alter in front of the whole congregation, as I presented the story. I had to think back to the reason I preferred SDA church over the traditional Sunday church. In my experience, SDA pastors teach and Sunday pastors preach; for me, the message is often lost in translation when it's being preached, which is why I prefer a teacher. Anyway, Sabbath school was run by two males: one was younger but dorky, so my peers felt comfortable around him because we felt he could relate more closely with us in age; the other was probably in his mid-thirties at the time, but he spoke slang which made the lessons more relatable and understandable. After I figured out how I was engaged in my youth, I considered the age group of my audience of children; using a variation of slang, and other terms that were more suitable to their age group, I was able to get the message across. I feel that Bible translations are similar in nature - they are translated in a variety of ways to cater to a specific class of people, each requiring their own unique comprehension techniques, all while staying true to the actual point of it all. Needless to say, I was relieved when it was all said and done and even more at peace when I heard the adult audience being engaged as well. I had been asked to do something I was not comfortable with at that time. As a matter of fact, there were many things I was asked to do back then, that I was hesitant about; such as, going to the Third Street Promenade on a Friday evening, stopping random people asking them if they knew about Jesus. I guess that's how new Jehovah's Witnesses feel. However, after you come into grips with your task at hand - spreading God's Gospel, the anxiety fades away as you allow the Spirit to guide your steps, and to influence your words. In the book of Exodus, God assures Moses that HE IS the Almighty Power, and it is because of God that we are who we are; we were all blessed with individual talents, be it artistic, musical, evangelistic, or nurturing, we are because He is; thus, we have absolutely NO reason to be concerned about how we will get through a situation He's placed us in. We simply have to let go of self and allow God to lead every action, reaction, and the word that is spoken from our mouths; trusting wholeheartedly that our outcome is necessary and best for our individual lives

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
