Make good choices (3/13/2014)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God for providing us with another day of endless opportunities. Please remember that production gaps for the SOD will continue until I am able to invest in a more reliable computer system, I thank you in advance for your understanding. Also, please keep my family and I in your prayers, as well as my organization. Additionally, I have a co-worker who would like you to remember him and his wife in prayer but wish to remain anonymous, and their request shall remain unspoken; please pray for us as the Spirit leads, thanks. Now, let's move forward with today's healthy living tip... "It's time to amend that "apple a day" aphorism: Tomatoes and cranberries keep the doctor away, too. New research shows that incorporating these three red, round fruits into your daily diet can reduce your risk of heart disease by as much as 40 percent (para 1)... Lycopene is an antioxidant compound that gives tomatoes and certain other fruits and vegetables their color (para 2)... An apple a day can reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol by as much as 40 percent (para 2)... Be sure to munch on the fruit rather than drink juice; the peels house the most antioxidants (para 3)... Drinking 3 cups of cranberry juice daily can raise HDL (good) cholesterol levels by 10 percent and reduce heart disease by 40 percent (para 4)... Replace soda with antioxidant-rich cranberry juice for heart health (para 4)." (St. Lifer, H. TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes and ears so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

Passage - Romans 7:15:
"I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate."

***Unless otherwise indicated, all scripture quotations are taken from the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible***

"We know that life presents us with a series of choices. It is up to us as to who, what, where and why we will choose one thing above another. Given a choice to do as Jesus would, or to do for self, most of us would agree that we would rather do as Jesus. But faced with a particular choice, and driven by our selfish desires, making the right choice can be a struggle to say the least. Paul, as strong in his faith as he was, struggled also. He despised the worldly flesh of himself and could not wait to be freed from it. “What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?” (Rom. 7:24). We are vexed, yet we are redeemed. We are corrupt, yet we are freed from corruption. We are cast down, but we will be lifted up. Our flesh nature will not always tear at us so. A day will come when we will be transformed to the likeness of Christ in every way. As for now—we struggle to be transformed to His likeness daily. We will sometimes fall, but we must get back up, and find in Christ the determination to press on"

.

Really, the above devotional speaks for itself; our human nature defies the Word of God. Most of us are in an everlasting battle between our hearts, our minds, and our bodies; we know what is right and have a desire to stay on the right track, but our flesh constantly yearns for pleasure. Unfortunately, we often allow flesh to take the lead, because we are not as in-tune with the Lord as we should be. No, I am not suggesting that a close relationship with God will eliminate all of the world's temptations. Nor am I insinuating that being one with God will guarantee your 100% obedience to His commands. Rather, I am making a statement that: in knowing the Lord better, studying and understanding His word more intensely, and seeking His approval and/or comparing your next course of action to the guidelines in the Bible, WILL help you strengthen in that area; a closer relationship with God doesn't assure your freedom from the adversaries attacks, in fact, it increases the likelyhood that the enemy will knock at your door, because his plan is to snatch your place from the Kingdom of Heaven. On your quest to strengthen your relationship with Christ, and to build our character as children of Christ, we will face many challenges, but trusting in the Lord wholeheartedly and following His commands, WILL ACT as an extra shield to keep our core protected from the death blows the devil tries to throw our way.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you in advance for touching Tye's co-worker and His wife by removing whatever obstacle is in their way, and for providing them with a favorable outcome. Lord we also ask that you will continue to bless Tylesha, her family, and her organization; thanking you for deliverance from anything and anyone who has a stronghold on them, and for allowing all positive things that they have a hand in, to flourish. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth without recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
