Hello everyone, as this week winds down please do not allow your reverence to God to take a back seat; continue to pray for others and to do good things for others, especially those that are outside of your inner circle. PRAYER REQUESTS: I told yall when I resumed production of the SOD, that a whole lot is going on in my personal, professional, and spiritual life, right? Well, I'm still not going to go into detail just yet; I ask that you will pray with deep concern, as the Spirit leads. However, please do not limit your prayers to me and your loved ones, I also ask that you will remember the other SOD recipients as as well, thank you. ANNOUNCEMENTS: I have FOUR more days to rally-up a deserving family or two, to become one of this year's meal box recipients. I have not received any nominations as of yet. Preparation of the meal boxes (purchasing supplies, etc.), which will include all the essential items to prepare a complete Thanksgiving meal for a family of up to 6, does not commence until after the deserving family(ies) is selected. If you know of a family(ies) in true need of assistance this holiday, please provide their contact information to me right away. If you would like to make a monetary donation or a contribution instead, you may submit those items and/or any recipient nominations NLT November 23rd, to allow time for us to prepare the meal boxes and have them delivered to the recipient family(ies) prior to Thanksgiving day (meal box items are not pre-cooked). I'm also interested in volunteering this Thanksgiving, so if you have any leads please forward those to me as well. Remember that in order for your Ralph's and/or Food 4 Less Rewards Cards or phone numbers to be linked to a non-profit organization, in which a small donation will be contributed per each purchase, you must register your reward cards and/or phone numbers annually. If you participated in this program last year, I appreciate your efforts and contributions, and would like to solicit your continued support annually. So, if you haven't already done so, please take a moment to re-register and link your Ralph's and/or Food 4 Less Reward Cards and/or phone numbers to my non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated, to help us raise money throughout the year which assists us in funding our daily operations; simply follow the steps below, and please share this information/process with others. HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
For all yall soda drinkers out there, this blurb's for you... I'm not big on soda myself, yet I still consume it from time to time, especially when my indigestion is bad - I'm a sucker for Sprite. However, studies have recently shown that drinking soda can have the same aging effects as smoking. So, perhaps you can trade-in that soda for a glass of regular water or fruit infused water. The following are some facts regarding the consumption of soda... "Besides contributing to the obesity epidemic, sugar-laden soft drinks age the body’s cells prematurely, says a study in the American Journal of Public Health (para. 1). "Regular consumption of sugar-sweetened sodas might influence disease development not only by straining the body’s metabolic control of sugars but also through accelerated cellular aging of tissues," said Elissa Epel, PhD, professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) (para. 3). Daily consumption of a 20-ounce soda was associated with 4.6 years of additional biological aging, a rate similar to smoking, Cindy Leung, ScD, UCSF Center for Health and Community, said "It is critical to understand both dietary factors that may shorten telomeres [caps at the ends of chromosomes in cells that protect DNA], as well as dietary factors that may lengthen telomeres,” Leung said. "Here it appeared that the only beverage consumption that had a measurable negative association with telomere length was consumption of sugared soda'" (Healthy Living Media Group Inc. (2014, November). Soda adds 4 years. Healthy Living. Retrieved from http://www.healthylivingmagazine.us/).

BE ENCOURAGED: TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.
Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

REFLECTIONS:
"Ministry is active—and it’s intimate. Right? When you consider what it means to minister to someone, what do you think of? Is ministry something that is done at church by ministers only? Is ministry something that we do for someone else? What does it mean to minister as Jesus would? Ministry can come in many forms, but the heart is often the same. True ministry comes from a heart that is willing to sacrifice one’s own concerns to take up the concerns of another. It comes from a heart that is willing to see another, to come along side of them, and to walk with them through whatever it is they are going through. Out from love of Christ, we join with those in need, shouldering the load with them, as though it is our load as well as theirs. It is not a distant service, but an up close and personal, hand in hand undertaking. If it is not—perhaps something is missing" (Chambers, R. (2014, November 16). Hand in hand [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/).
"... Christ demonstrated and taught that we should treat ALL people with respect - those of different race, handicapped, the poor, young and old, male and female... we need to live in harmony with others and not be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people..." (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Romans. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 12:16 (pp. 1705). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).
This is an intriguing lesson... what does ministry mean to you? It is my opinion that ministry is NOT limited to the confines of a church, the work of an evangelist, or the service of a pastor. Instead, ministry involves the selfless service of an individual or a group of individuals, that leads to the honor and glory of God. Basically, ministry can range anywhere from sharing the Gospel with others, providing community service, and/or using your talents in reverence to God. Our ministry is how we choose to individually serve our Father in Heaven. My ministry is via the SOD; I send the SOD via several different email distribution lists, as well as sharing through several other social avenues, such as my blog and social networks like Facebook and Twitter. I believe the key factor however, is to acknowledge God in all your efforts, making sure not to allow self to exceed its place; all honor and glory should always be acknowledged and pledged to God, otherwise, the humility in your ministry is lost. Hand in hand, we should work with one another, to reach out to others and, to cover more spiritual ground than that if we had acted alone in our ministry.
PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We appreciate the courage you've given us to forgive those who have wronged us, but more especially to release any personal guilt and regret from within, that we may also forgive ourselves. Father whatever our ministry may be, we ask that you will oversee our efforts; keep us fixed on your will, and allow us to be removed from self so that we may be properly lead in the Spirit. We thank you for deliverance from our burdens, redemption from our sins, and restoration physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Thanks for the interior and exterior transformation in the Spirit, which has allowed us to demonstrate a Christ-like lifestyle. We thank you for your continued hedge of protection from all hurt, harm, danger, and evil - for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth, and ask that you protect us from recourse. For those things and people we have failed to pray for, we ask that you do not fail to address the concerns. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we claim all these things and submit our petition to you with reverence, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
Respectfully,
