Hello everyone, I pray all has been well. PRAYER REQUESTS: Please keep me in your prayers for physical, spiritual, and mental healing; for change, growth, and self-improvement; for an increase in resources, prosperity, and success for my non-profit organization; and for guidance in my career decisions. ANNOUNCEMENTS: I know that I teased yall with that last SOD, and trust me it was NOT my intent to fall off again. Know that I always appreciate your patience through my extended absences; a lot is going on in my personal, professional, and spiritual life. Not all of it is positive, but I am certainly in no rut, I am simply working to figure things out and to strengthen my spiritual relationship with Christ so that I will feel 100% comfortable with my efforts in this flesh. Aside from from that, I inadvertently deleted something or altered something that caused my computer to convert all of my admin accounts to standard accounts, which in turn locked me out of my computer system; I still haven't worked out all the kinks, but at least I have been able to at least create a temporary account of some sorts to work with... anyway, during my leave, I never stop praying for you and seeking God's guidance. On a more positive note, it is that time of year again... I am looking for 2-4 families with a true need for assistance; my non-profit organization will provide selected families with all essential items to prepare a complete Thanksgiving meal. Please submit your recommendations for deserving families, along with their contact information that they may be evaluated for consideration; please submit any monetary donations, food contributions, and recommendations NLT November 23rd, to allow time to put together the holiday meal boxes, to be delivered prior to the holiday. Thanks in advance for your support and/or contribution(s). Keep in mind that my breaks may continue to come unannounced and/or for an extended period, but TRUST THAT GOD NEVER ISOLATES HIMSELF from tending to your needs; IF/WHEN YOU are feeling a void, feeling overwhelmed, and/or in need of an unbiased shoulder to cry on, STOP EVERYTHING AND PRAY, then, SEEK GUIDANCE IN THE WORD OF GOD.
HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
People tend to lack the ability to correctly eyeball recommended food portions. For example, how many of us would really be able to accurately serve one cup of dry cereal into a bowl without a measuring tool? Today there are lots of gimmicks on the market that advertise weight lose without exercise and diet. There are also just as many methods that actually promote healthy nutrition in addition to exercising. However, from personal experience, I can honestly state that I was in my best physical shape when practicing portion control, healthier eating habits, and a normal workout routine (3-5 days a week lasting between 30-45 minutes); I had lost 18% body fat just by changing how I ate - NO supplements and NO nutritional shakes, so then why invest your hard earned bucks into products like Weight Watchers and Herbalife? I say don't! Yes, I was suckered in for a hot second on some of these gimmicks myself. I will admit that some ploys may help you gain leaner muscles more quickly than without them, but most are pyramid schemes which are quite recognizable to say the least. Plus, IF you are one who prefers supplements and nutritional shakes, they have plenty of options at your local grocer; I have personally compared the ingredients of the different Herbalife shakes vs. several nutritional shake mixes from Walmart (all under $20), ranging from the same serving size as the Herbalife products to even larger supplies. All of the products shared exact ingredients and one particular product contained additional ingredients contained in the pill supplements endorsed by Herbalife. So why should I pay $350 monthly for a so-called 30-day supply of their product, when in reality it was more like a 20 day supply if that? Not to mention, my appetite increased, so what happened to the so-called savings? There were none. But the product at Walmart cost me $12; if I don't wash the product from my cup right away, there is no awful smell and goop residue leftover the next day, unlike Herbalife. LOL, no, this is NOT an attempt to steer anyone away from their products, nor to endorse any new ones. In fact, I am merely challenging you not to rely on supplemental shakes and stupid diets. Rather, adopt a consistent workout routine, and change your eating habits, then watch as you achieve the same results. I will however suggest practicing burst training and isometric exercises, so that you are making the most of your workout. If you hate bland food, don't cut it out, just alter how you prepare your meals. For instance: instead of fat free mayo, simply limit the amount you spread on your sandwich; instead of ranch dressing, try rice vinegar; eat lean meat more often than red meat; limit your fruit juice consumption and try fruit infused water; try grabbing a piece of fruit to curb your sweet-tooth cravings. I'm not a nutritionist, but did work with one directly to figure out the best way to tone-up without necessarily losing weight. If you would like any advice on exercises, at-home exercise equipment, exercise videos (for women), or any other concerns I may be able to assist with, I'm open for discussion. I've attached a chart that shows a general idea for proper portion sizes. I'd also suggest investing in portion control measuring tools, or portion control plates/containers (adult and children portion size items do differ).

BE ENCOURAGED: TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul TODAY because tomorrow is NOT promised; by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), YOU can start anew and become a better you. CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN... Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, "be the change that you want to see in the world." Have a blessed rest of the week.
Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes, ears, and heart so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
PASSAGE- MATTHEW 7:12:
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets."

REFLECTIONS:
"In this age, of the “all about me,” a person can get lost in the shuffle within the selfish masses. You may have noticed that there are an awful lot of people primarily concerned about their own best interests. If you’re not careful, you could end up just like them. So, whatever happened to the golden rule? Did it change? Is it lost? Or is it perceived an archaic notion, no longer worthy of our consideration? “Do to others what you would have them do to you…” Not exactly a marketing slogan, is it? The consumer age has permeated our minds, convincing us that we deserve a break, we should have it our way, or we deserve the very best. Jesus said He “did not come to be served, but to serve”. The heart of His followers should be no different. No, the golden rule has not changed. God is still God. Jesus is still Lord and Savior. His love is unending--His truth, unchanging. And because the golden rule came out from the mouth of Jesus--it will always remain still golden." (Chambers, R. (2014, November 10). Still golden [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/).
We have all heard the phases: "it is better to give than to receive"; "two wrongs don't make a right"; "give without expectation". Did you know that all of the previously mentioned are derived from the Bible? (refer to Acts 20:35, Matthew 5:39, and Luke 6:35). Why is it that we aren't generally inclined to adhere to such phrases? It's because of our selfishness... be it evident or unbeknownst to ourselves, we all possess forms of selfishness, we simply act on them differently. "... It is not hard to refrain from harming others; it is much more difficult to take the initiative in doing something good for them. The Golden Rule, as Jesus formulated it, is the foundation of active goodness and mercy - the kind of love God shows us every day. Think of a good and merciful act you can do today" (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Revelation. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 7:12 (pp. 1349). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.). Since our last fellowship, I decided to discontinue my participation in pagan holidays and celebrations, to include my own birthday; this affords me the opportunity to think of every day as an excuse to do something good for others, more especially people outside of my circle. For example, instead of being pampered with gifts on Christmas, I can volunteer my services to others or give some cheer to people in need. After all, the Bible does say, "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?" (James 2:14-16). Although we see the terms "brother or sister" used in this text, the essential message revolves around all people; what good or sacrifice is it really if you are providing free services, and/or gifts to people who aren't in need of them? It's a nice gesture, but how much more humbling would it be to give to those who actually need the help? For instance, our government is on a constant quest to help third world countries, but where are its efforts to support those within our own? They spend billions of dollars in fighting wars that did not technically involve the United States; they literally waste tons of uneaten food in our prisons and military rather than providing for the homeless. If we as a people, and we as individuals would put more efforts toward helping the people in need rather than helping ourselves, and/or individuals who have their own resources, then perhaps we can put a dent in poverty: how many ex-cons would seek legitimate work if they were offered gainful and substantial employment after prison?; how many homeless individuals would actively look for work rather than panhandle, if they were offered assistance in resume writing, job interview skills, housing, and/or other resources to acclimate or re-acclimate themselves into the workforce? We will never be able to answer those questions without putting forth a plan of action, then executing said plan. Be the change you wanna see in this world (Mahatma Gandhi). In the infamous words of Nike, "JUST DO IT."
PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for the strength we need to forgive those who have wronged us, the same way you continuously grant us forgiveness, and for placing upon those we have wronged the same desire, that we too may be forgiven by them. More so Father, we thank you for removing the guilt we once placed on self, and for removing every thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors in our lives that lead to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Thanks for helping us to see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for the courage to rearrange our priorities, placing you at the top of our list. We thank you for discernment to know the difference between good and bad, right from wrong, and your will vs. our own desires. Thanks for provision, guidance, and protection from Satan’s attacks. By the authority in our words, we reverse all the negativity spoken into existence within our individual lives and the lives of our loved ones and associates. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. Lord we also grant your angels permission to do our bidding on Earth, and ask for your protection from recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our petition to you and thank you in advance for working it all out. All these things we claim in the name of Jesus, Amen!
Respectfully,
