Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory to God! So, I'm still running off fumes right now. I really wanted to go to bed early, but this year, I'm trying to fight the urge to rest before putting out the SOD. But know that I am not above falling short, however, I am putting forth a stronger effort to be committed its consistency. I have some great news... while typing up the SOD tonight, I was looking up paraphrased passages through Goggle to locate the actual Bible verse for review, and came across a website which covers the topics from our SOD series covered in the book "The Tongue - A Creative Force" by Charles Capps. So, for those who are new to the Scripture of the Day (SOD), and/or those who do not have a copy of his book, perhaps this web page may provide further enlightenment: http://www.kcmi.com/revelation_church/showarticle.cfm?article=70. On another note, drama, drama, and more drama at the workplace; every day is something new, to the point I literally have to remind myself that I have a mortgage to pay so that I can "Woosah" my way back to sanity. I need several doors to be opened for me, so pray as the Spirit leads, thanks in advance. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!
~~ Tylesha ~~
Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."
Job 6:24-26 says, "Teach me, and I will keep quiet. Show me what I have done wrong. Honest words can be painful, but what do your criticisms amount to? Do you think your words are convincing when you disregard my cry of desperation?" This same scripture translated in The Message reads, "Confront me with the truth and I'll shut up, show me where I've gone off the track. Honest words never hurt anyone, but what's the point of all this pious bluster? You pretend to tell me what's wrong with my life, but treat my words of anguish as so much hot air." One of the things I've had an issue with in the past, is being told about myself. The truth is hard to swallow sometimes, but a mature person is able to LISTEN to what is being said and adjust or work to improve problematic areas, but someone has to be loving enough to reveal that truth. God tries to show us revelations daily, but some of us are so distracted by the happenings in this world, that we cannot hear Him. We ask God "why me?" yet every time He reveals why it is taking years to reach a destiny that was only 10 minutes away, we shun Him and look to self and other secular outlets, in an attempt to find answers or to fill a void. These verses don't deny the "painful" truth, but it points out the ignorance in petty arguments that have no bearing, nagging, ridicule, or criticisms without any truth behind them. How can you expect someone to change or improve if you've engaged in meaningless banter, yet never revealed or communicated the actual problem? We are quick to judge and point out someone's flaws, yet when those same people look to us for compassion, we disregard their emotions; how can one take heed to criticism from someone who fails to respectfully acknowledge them? Our words produce either prosperity or destruction. God's words says that we are bound by our words, "A man who makes a vow to the Lord or makes a pledge under oath must never break it. He must do exactly what he said he would do" (Numbers 30:2); if you make a promise, then KEEP it. The same with the words we utter from our lips; if you speak negativity into existence in your life, do NOT blame God for your unfavorable outcomes. "The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences" (Proverbs 18:21). As the saying goes, "SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, AND MEAN WHAT YOU SAY," because whatever seeds you plant with your mouth, so shall it produce fruit of its kind.
Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We thank you for restoring the faith in our own ability, to use our words to produce prosperity and favorable outcomes into our lives. We thank you for closing the door on the enemy's attempting to attack Tylesha, and for opening new doors and a new chapter in her life; we thank you for providing her with advancement, and other opportunities that will contribute to her overall tranquility, joy, success, and prosperity. We thank you for redemption, and for the ability to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. We deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives. We thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. We thank you for deliverance from pain, suffering, debts, struggles, and worries. Father God we thank you for the ability to stand firm through the test of our trials. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to maintain control through our faith-filled words. We thank you that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. We thank you for your continued blessings of protection, and for the peace that passeth all understanding. We present this affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus, Amen!
"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man." (Psalm 118:8)
