Speaking the truth in Love (6/16/2015)

Hello everyone, I pray all is well. I apologize about yesterday's SOD being distributed via e-mail with the wrong date, that's my bad. Anyway, despite its length and redundancy of announcements, one of the more pertinent aspects of the SOD is the Prayer of the DayI encourage you to always read this prayer, though typically unchanging, it effectively covers significant concerns worth praying forPRAYER REQUESTS: I have been experiencing quite a few ailments that I'm somewhat being treated for, but since I prefer a holistic approach, I haven't yet found a solution to combat my nagging pains. My prayer request is for Yahweh to heal and provide comfort in the meantime. Also, continue to pray for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank Yahweh for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you or someone you know would like to get involved in giving back to the community, donations may be made year-round to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). You may also register to contribute funds per every purchase you make through Ralph's and/or Food 4 Less (this is NO cost to you, the donation is a percentage taken from each purchase, and donated from the store on your behalf); if you would like to link your rewards card with FMBS Inc. let me know so that I may send you the information to register... ALL registrations must be updated ANNUALLY, so if your rewards card was previously enrolled, my request is that you resubmit your registration each year. Your continued support is always appreciated. Please keep spreading the word.

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… Personally, I believe that holistic medicine and spiritual healing far supersede any treatment that man can offer. That being said, I encourage you to do some research on the benefits of natural cures/remedies, and consider switching out your over-the-counter (OTC) medications and/or prescribed medications with herbal supplements that have proven results. My parents, brother, and I have been taking natural medicine vs. OTC and prescribed medicines for a variety of ailments ranging from TMJD, joint pain, anxiety, high cholesterol, thyroid, and diabetes. In addition, adding infused water to combat certain ailments such as bad indigestion or to increase your metabolism, may prove beneficial as well. Some natural remedies include but are not limited to the following:
  • Kava Kava - treats pain
  • Olive Leaf & Oregano Oil - natural antibiotics and preventive medicine
  • Benadryl - helps with anxiety and sleep issues without addictive qualities
  • Omega 3 - assists with joint rejuvenation
  • Lemon, cucumber & mint water - combats indigestion
  • Cayenne pepper & apple cider vinegar water - helps balance your insulin levels
  • Cayenne pepper & cinnamon - help boost your metabolism (cinnamon also helps balance insulin)

Juicing via a juice extractor or smoothie is also a great way to boost your immune system and get essential vitamins in the most effective way. My brother had bought my mom a Nutra Bullet that came with a recipe book for smoothies that target various ailments; my brother is diabetic and at the time, my mom was dealing with some cholesterol issues. After they began consuming their target smoothies, they saw a major improvement in their health. My dad however, loves using the juice extractor, and when he juices regularly, he boasts of feeling more energetic. I prefer to use a smoothie blender; juicing keeps me regular, provides more energy than say a cup of coffee, and appears to boost my immune system. Try some remedies after doing your own research, and find what works best for you.

BE ENCOURAGED: NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity… If you believe in God (His title) – Yahweh (His personal name), you can be delivered, transformed, restored, and your mind can be renewed. The rest of this day isn’t promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you, NOW not later. Ponder this, “Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes” (Peter Drucker). Have a blessed rest of the week.

Yahweh, please clear our minds and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PASSAGE – EPHESIANS 4:15:
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”

REFLECTIONS:
Our words are powerful. They can be used to encourage and edify, or they can be used to attack and humiliate. We often forget the power of the spoken word, and are all too often careless with what is said. Jesus tells us in Matthew 12:36, "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment." He also said, "Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man" (Matthew 15:11). With every spoken word comes a great responsibility in the administration of a word. This is not to make us overly anxious, or overly self conscious. But it is to make us take care in what comes out of our mouths, that our mouths become nurturing rivers of life, and not loose cannons” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 16). Strong words [Web log comment]. “In describing the mature Christian, Paul says that one of the marks is "speaking the truth in love"... Some of us are fairly good at speaking the truth, but we forget to be loving. Some of us are good at being loving, but we don't have it in us to level with others if the truth is painful. The instruction here is to do both: Speak the truth, but do so in a loving manner...” (Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Ephesians. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 4:15 (pp. 1786). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

How much better would our relationships and associations with others be if we followed this practice? Think about it, is there a relationship or connection that was lost because you decided not to sit down with the other party to tactfully discuss the issue? It would be much more beneficial for us to have an adult conversation or an age-appropriate conversation with someone we are at odds with, rather than to perpetuate the situation with petty feuding or a tit for tat approach; the longer we allow a situation to go unaddressed, the more we allow resentment and strife to build-up. As the situation continues to negatively fester, our opportunity for resolve decreasesWould you rather lovingly tell your significant other about the true troubles in your relationship, or would you rather risk pushing one another away through pent-up frustration from lack of communication? Is it better to allow your child to be disruptive and reckless, than to lovingly tell him/her how and why they should improve their behavior? Is it more beneficial to lose contact with an associate who you aren't seeing eye-to-eye with, or to have a sit-down to tactfully discuss how to effectively address each of your concerns? Why cut off ties with someone you love or care for? Why dismiss a potentially great professional relationship, when the answer is most likely "speaking the truth in love"? I know that sometimes there is no repairing certain relationships and/or associations, but is it Christ-like to make that decision without having first made a genuine attempt to find a solution? We should forgive others and STOP holding onto petty grudges. We should regularly practice "speaking the truth in love" so that if or when we have reached the conclusion that a relationship or association cannot be salvaged, we have made every Godly effort to repair what was damaged.

PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Yahweh we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Yahweh, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen!
