Penciled In (6/9/2015)

I hope your week has been going well thus far. If not, reassess all the blessings you have taken for granted, and then be grateful for what the Lord has provided. PRAYER REQUESTS: As always, pray for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank God for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you're looking for a way to give back to the community, why not make a contribution to a worthy cause?; donations may be made year-round to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with its day-to-day operations through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). Are you or someone you know in need of some cool jewels? Well, take a moment to search my on-line jewelry boutique at http://TyeDreamsBig.kitsylane.com. Also, remember that if you reside in the Moreno Valley or local surrounding areas, and require child care or notary services, I am here for your needs. Lastly, if you don’t mind sitting through a quick seminar, peak your interest in a timeshare investment with Westgate Resorts; not your ordinary timeshare, but a piece of property you'll hold the deed to. You can get 4 days/3 nights for $99 by calling (888) 608-9570 or 3 days/2 nights for FREE by calling (800) 217-5231 using the Ref #2150873521; veterans are offered even more benefits as Westgate Resorts owners, just ask your seminar rep. Your continued support is always appreciated, and please keep spreading the word.

HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… "like any other physical fitness program - excess fat around the middle is a problem. So if you're still eating junk and slighting yourself valuable nutrition, you're likely not going to see the results you're hoping for. That said, let's move on. If you're noticing changes in your shape, but you think your waist could be smaller, consider your abdominal workout. The standard crunch and the regular sit-up are great exercises and you should keep doing them - but they DON'T maximize your abdominal workout, nor do they adequately work the transverse abdominals. You will need to alter your routine to include exercises that maximize your internal corset. Try:
  • Pelvic Tilts - Lay on your back on the floor or a mat. Lift your knees to about 90 degrees while keeping your feet flat on the floor. Raise only your pelvis, keeping your lower back on the ground. Hold it for three or four seconds and lower it again. Repeat for two or three sets.
  • The Crunch-less Crunch (aka Stomach Vacuum) - This one is great because you can do it any time and anywhere ... basically you're going to pull your belly button toward your spine. Sit up straight and concentrate on drawing in the part of your stomach that is just below the belly button - continue to draw yourself in until you feel your belly button being pulled toward your spine. Relax and repeat as many times as you can.
  • Scissor Kicks - While lying on the floor place your hands under your tush. Keep your back pressed against the floor. Slowly raise one leg to a height of about one foot from the floor, then slowly lower it back. As you lower one leg, raise the other. Like scissors cutting the air. Repeat this motion for an entire set. Control is important, don't allow momentum to increase rapidly.
  • Oblique Bridge and Standard Plank - Lie on your side while holding your upper body off the ground with your elbow. Keeping your legs together, raise your midsection off the floor ... your torso should be at about a 45 degree angle from the floor, your feet and elbow being the only points touching the floor. Keep your body as straight as possible - Hold for a count of ten (if you can) lower yourself and repeat until you've done three on each side. After you've done this, roll onto your stomach and hold your upper body off the ground with both elbows. Position your feet as though you were about to do a pushup (toes on the floor) and lift your torso off the ground, again to a straight 45 degree angle. Hold for a count of ten and repeat three times if you can.

BE ENCOURAGED: If you believe in God, you can be delivered, transformed, restored, and your mind can be renewed. The rest of this day isn’t promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you, NOW not later. NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity… CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN. Ponder this, “Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes” (Peter Drucker). Have a blessed weekend.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PASSAGE – ECCLESIASTES 2:11:
“Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.”

REFLECTIONS:
I think it is a terrible truth how much Christian activity is lived like an appointment penciled in—easily erased if something of seeming greater importance comes along. Quiet times with our Lord, Bible study, quality prayer time, and serving God are so very often the casualties in the competition for our time and attention. And for what? For what things do the things of God take second place? I am seldom late for work, or a doctor’s appointment, or the start time of my favorite television show. Why is it I hold my appointments with God with less esteem? Each time with God is crucial to my existence—every moment with Him is vital for my life, health, and happiness. I lay down with the best intentions that tomorrow will be better, and when the day progresses, too often I am erasing again my appointment with Him, and say to myself, “Maybe tomorrow…'” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 9). Penciled in [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

We shouldn't be so quick to put off our time with God until "tomorrow" when the rest of this day isn't even promised. I could definitely relate to Chambers' reflections above... I find myself rushing to church (maybe 20 mins away from home) on the Sabbath, despite having woken up with ample enough time to eat breakfast, shower, and dress; however, I speed down the highway in an attempt to make it before prayer, praise, and the start of the sermon. Yet, when I am asked to arrive in LA (an hour or more away depending on traffic) for a significant event, I'm right on-time if not early... (I said "significant" mommy and bro, LOL, I'm late to some events as well, but is GOD not more important than anyone or anywhere we have to visit?) In all honesty, God's time shouldn't be what's penciled in, rather, everything else should be penciled in around our time for God, otherwise everything we do to fill our voids will be all for not.

“Solomon summarized all his attempts at finding life's meaning as "vexation of spirit” [chasing after the wind]... We feel the wind as it passes, but we can't catch hold of it or keep it. In all our accomplishments, even the big ones, our good feelings are only temporary. Security and self-worth are found not in these accomplishments, but far beyond them in the love of God. Think about what you consider worth-while - where you place your time, energy, and money. Will you one day look back and decide that these, too, were a "chasing after wind"?(Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). Ecclesiastes. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 2:11 (pp. 965). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen!
