Something New (6/10/2015)

Hope yall have had an eventful and productive week so far, if not, you may need to re-prioritize
and make more responsible decisions. PRAYER REQUESTS: As always, pray for one another as the Spirit leads, and remember to thank God for the victory while refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome (refer to the book The Tongue – A Creative Force, by Charles Capps). ANNOUNCEMENTS: If you would like to assist my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., with our day-to-day operations, donations may be made year-round through the PayPal link located on our website (listed below under Join Our Cause). If you’re looking for some unique and trending jewelry, check out my online jewelry boutique at http://TyeDreamsBig.kitsylane.com.  If you’re in need of child care and/or notary and loan signing services I am here for you; child care is extended to the Moreno Valley and local surrounding areas, and further locations if you’re willing to make that commute. However, feel free to contact me for mobile notary services as well. HEALTHY LIVING TIPS:
Change begins within… If you’re having a difficult time with portion control, there are a few products on the market that may assist you: Meal Measure, Portion Plate, Snack-Trax, Portionmate, Portionware, etc. You may find links to purchase these items at http://www.skinnymom.com/10-products-to-help-with-portion-control/. Or, you can always Google them or search on eBay for more affordable deals. Another thing to keep in mind is the importance of protein with EVERY meal. Forget the quick-fix diets because eventually you’ll gain back all your weight lost, if not more. So, consider this… protein (preferably lean and/or portion controlled) with each meal: “Your pro-muscle, anti-fat mechanism is triggered by eating protein. In fact, every time you eat at least 10 to 15 grams of protein, you trigger a burst of protein synthesis. And when you eat at least 30 grams, that period of synthesis lasts about 3 hours—and that means even more muscle growth” (Men’sHealth.Com. (2015). Fit for life summer challenge. Men’sHealth/Women’sHealth. Retrieved from http://www.menshealth.com/fit-for-summer-challenge). Your plate should consist of more veggies than anything else (see the chart below/attached for a healthy eating plate).
You must also remember the importance of staying active; portion control and healthy eating is only a fraction of what it takes to live a healthy lifestyle. Exercise and kicking bad habits such as drinking and/or smoking too much, also play a part in that.

BE ENCOURAGED: If you believe in God, you can be delivered, transformed, restored, and your mind can be renewed. The rest of this day isn’t promised, let alone tomorrow, so why not strengthen your faith TODAY? Feed your body healthy nutrition, be cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirit to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.), and YOU can start anew and become a better you, NOW not later. NEVER lose sight of God in the midst of adversity… CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN. Ponder this, “Knowledge has to be improved, challenged, and increased constantly, or it vanishes” (Peter Drucker). Have a blessed rest of the week.

Lord please clear our minds, and open our eyes, ears, and hearts so that we may see, hear, and receive your intended message from this fellowship. In the name of Jesus, Amen!

PASSAGE – JOHN 4:13-14:
“The woman saith unto him, “Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?” … Jesus answered and said unto her, “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.’”

REFLECTIONS:
It seems that no matter how much we have, we are always on the lookout for more. We grow use to what we have, and as we do, what we have often loses its spark and appeal. That can be said of relationships as well as things. We begin to long for something different—we yearn for something in addition—we want for something new. In many cases, it is because we are selfish, greedy, or discontent. The age old saying, “The grass is always greener, on the other side of the fence,” hits a little too close to home, and more frequently than many of us would like to admit. But there is another side to desiring something new that embraces a more positive perspective. We can desire a fresh movement of the Spirit, a new truth from God, or a new touch from Jesus that compels us on toward the perfect things we can only find in Him. In truth, there is no need to fight the desire for something new—but simply to refocus that desire on the new, and everlasting things of Jesus Christ our Lord” (Chambers, R. (2015, June 10). Something new [Web log comment]. Retrieved from http://reflections.daybyday.org/)

“Many spiritual functions parallel physical functions. As our bodies hunger and thirst, so do our souls. But our souls need spiritual food and water. The woman confused the two kinds of water, perhaps because no one had ever talked with her about spiritual hunger and thirst [voids] before. We would not think of depriving our bodies of food and water when they hunger or thirst. Why then should we deprive our souls? The living Word, Jesus Christ, and the written Word, the Bible, can satisfy our hungry and thirsty souls(Tyndale House Publishers. (2004). John. Life Application Study Bible: King James Version: Notes 4:13-15 (pp. 1548). Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

On our never-ending quest to find something new, we lose sight in what’s most essential in life. We continue to seek out different means to fill our voids instead of simply asking God to reveal and to fill those voids for us. As we covered in a previous lesson, we must first know what our true issue is before we can find the solution. God already knows our short comings and knows our circumstance – He knows the void – God however, cannot help us until we realize our need for His intervention in our lives. If you’ve reached a plateau in finding something new, then perhaps you’ve been looking in the wrong direction. It’s time to seek what, rather, who has always been there – the Answer – GOD! STOP placing your trust in your own solutions, ASK GOD for guidance and for once, WAIT for Him to lead, and then OBEY.
** I know that the SOD can be lengthy sometimes, but you do NOT limit your time when you’re having fun, so why limit your time with God? I encourage you to always read the Prayer of the Day; typically the same, but it’s because it covers almost everything we can generally pray for, in an effective manner. **

PRAYER OF THE DAY:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. Thank you for providing the courage and strength we need to remove the guilt we've placed on self, and for removing every negative thought that has held us captive in our own minds. We thank you for transforming our image into one that mirrors Jesus, so that His goodness is reflected in all that we do. Thanks for blessing us with a double portion of your Spirit, and for closing every unnecessary door that is open in our lives. Thanks for opening supernatural doors to peace, prosperity, clarity, contentment, and happiness. We thank you for providing each of us with the clear and concise revelations we need in order to overcome the adversary. Please continue to help us see, hear, and feel your presence through every trial and tribulation, and for discernment to know the difference between your will vs. our own desires. We take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and bind every evil and malicious plot, plan and scheme devised against us, in the matchless name of Jesus. We grant your angels permission to do our bidding on earth, and thank you for protecting us from its recourse. This is our affirmation of faith Father God, we submit our petition to you, and claim all these things in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
