God is Better (10/24/11)

Greetings Everyone,
Hope yall have been keeping up with your positive thinking, speaking, and praying. I took a brief break, I wasn't in a funk or anything, but I am still working on establishing a consistent sleep schedule; my naps have exceeded the definition of "nap," LOL. Anyway, I'm here today praise God, so let's get back to our lessons... Continue to pray for one another and speak your desired outcome into every circumstance. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."

The news tends to focus on all the negative, and things that we as Christians would deem "good," are hidden from public view and replaced with stories that revolve around celebrity gossip. So, our minds are easily clouded with the assumption that the devil is on a high horse and doing magnificently well, however, if you keep counting your blessings and really focus on God's greatness, you'll see that just isn't the case. Gospel music has transformed so much so that our youth gravitate toward it - we know who MaryMary is, we know who Canton Jones is, who Trinity 5:7 is, because we love the music. But that music glorifies God. Some of it may appear secular when you hear the beats, but as you listen to the words and learn them, subconsciously, you are speaking positivity into existence because you are glorifying God instead of money, women, cars, crime, and material things. TBN, launched an international effort to install satellite dishes to third world countries so that they can witness a channel that acknowledges Christ. TBN also launched a high tech website. So how is satan doing better than God's children? We covered this before, the enemy's only power is that which YOU give him. Proverbs 18:4, 6-7 says, "Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook... Fools' words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating. The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips." These verses do NOT mention anything about a wicked or evil person, no, the term used is "fool." A fool is someone who lacks judgement or appears to have no sense, and no professionalism or respect about him. So if wisdom and knowledge come from God's word, and the Word tells us to "speak those things that be not as though they were," and "whatsoever we ask in faith, shall be given to us," yet we continue to speak negativity into existence or allow the enemy to influence our decisions, then we should respectfully accept the title of a "fool." It is by our very own mouth that we cause destruction in our lives and/or the lives of people around us. The reason the enemy wants us to speak negatively is to tear us down and destroy us, but God's word is truth "For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever" (II John 2) Be moved by what God's word says; speak ONLY what the Word says, and it will work out for the better as long as you stand firm. DENY the right of the enemy to exist in your life and release the ability of God IN YOU, by the AUTHORITY OF YOUR WORDS. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, OklahomaHarrison House, 1976.)

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for your almighty power and grace. We thank you for your everlasting love and forgiveness. We thank you for the ability, and the power in our words to reverse the very negativity that we spoke into our own lives; we thank you that despite the devil's deceitfulness, we believe in your promise, trusting that we have the power of healing in our words backed by a sincere faith and trust in your authority. Father we thank you now for complete healing and restoration, profound strength and confidence in our abilities, a renewed mind and spirit, and for the yearning desire to be committed to the mission you have set aside for us. Lord we thank you for new and better employment opportunities, continued education, peace in our homes, strong relationships, and cooperation in the work place. We thank you for new unions, new beginnings, necessary endings, and we thank you for providing those who still seek union, with a husband or wife, and those who seek to start their family, with healthy babies. We thank you for your continued protection and for your promised victory. In the name of Jesus, we submit this confession unto you. Hallelujah, Amen!
