I came home today and sat in my backyard for a couple of minutes, then went to my room for what I thought would be a quick nap. I don't even recall being that tired, but I just barely woke up, SMH. Anyway, I get so irritated with myself when I re-read the SOD in the morning and see typos. UGH! What's most annoying about it is, I call myself proofreading the lesson before I send it. Well, it is what it is, I'm sure yall get the intended message with or without typos, so to God be the glory anyhow. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
Matthew 12:36 says, "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken." Verse 34 says, "For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." We must rely on the Spirit to keep us filled that we may alter our internal feelings, but in the meantime, we can work on cleaning up our speech - watch the words that you allow to depart from your mouth. As the Holy Spirit works within you, to formulate new attitudes and motives, rest assured, your speech will be corrected at the source. "For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned" (Matthew 12:37). Just because some people don't share your faith in God's ability, that doesn't stop Him from keeping His promise. He wants us to prevail, He wants the authority of our words to manifest when we speak in God's truth, that we may be justified. Romans 3:3-4 says, "What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written: 'So that you may be proved right when you speak and prevail when you judge.'" Some people look beyond the word of God, beyond an individual's reasons of faith, seeking modern-day miracles; they want an excuse to believe and follow God's commands. But we have more than enough miracles in the Bible, enough facts in our faith, to support our beliefs. Modern-day miracles will not change anyone's decision to doubt God's authority, they will yet find another excuse of why God's truth is questionable. So instead of working to convince the non-believers and skeptics about the authority God privileged in our words, ACCEPT that authority and move forward. You never know, how you lead your life, may be just the "evidence" needed to bring the lost soul back to Christ. DENY the right of the enemy to exist in your life and release the ability of God IN YOU, by the AUTHORITY OF YOUR WORDS. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)
Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for your almighty power and grace. We thank you for your everlasting love and forgiveness. We thank you for the ability, and the power in our words to reverse the very negativity that we spoke into our own lives; we thank you that despite the devil's deceitfulness, we believe in your promise, trusting that we have the power of healing in our words backed by a sincere faith and trust in your authority. Father we thank you now for complete healing and restoration, profound strength and confidence in our abilities, a renewed mind and spirit, and for the yearning desire to be committed to the mission you have set aside for us. Lord we thank you for new and better employment opportunities, continued education, peace in our homes, strong relationships, and cooperation in the work place. We thank you for new unions, new beginnings, necessary endings, and we thank you for providing those who still seek union, with a husband or wife, and those who seek to start their family, with healthy babies. We thank you for your continued protection and for your promised victory. In the name of Jesus, we submit this confession unto you. Hallelujah, Amen!
