I hope yall had a great weekend. Praise God that we are reunited in again in fellowship. Fellowship is so essential to our growth as Christians; the encouragement and knowledge enhances with each meeting and with every testimony, which is why it is so important for us not only to share amongst ourselves, but to also share the Word with others. It's been heavy on my heart to encourage the parents out there, struggling to maintain and/or develop a healthy and cordial relationship with the father or mother of their child/children. I want to encourage those of you with this type of issue, to keep your head up and trust in God. Stop trying to do things your way and have faith in God that He can provide in them a changed heart. Do NOT allow your baby's father or baby's mother to have any authority in your life, and do NOT allow them to dictate your relationship with your child/children. Allow them to be ignorant alone. Kill evil with kindness; no matter what types of plots and schemes they throw your way, do NOT allow them to steal your joy. Do NOT go back and forth in a tit for tat manner, rather do as Jesus would do, and place the ball in their court. You continue to raise your children/child accordingly, and allow them to continue on in their foolishness, ALONE! Remember that YOU have the authority of God in YOUR WORDS, to speak and pray peace, and positivity into your life. And that goes for everyone, if we stand firm in the word of God, we can take back everything the enemy has stolen from us, and restore the years we've spent in tears, all by the words we form with our tongue and speak out of mouth, through the name of the Son, Jesus Christ. Also, again I want yall to really get a chance to check out the Why Opposites Attract II series at http://www.mtrubidouxsda.org/article.php?id=13, it's really an eye-opener for the single people and even those who are in a marriage or committed relationship. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
I have heard people make the statement that "the Old Testament was nailed to the cross with Jesus." But the Ten Commandments are in the Old Testament, right? So How does that work exactly? Are we to forget the guidelines that God has provided us through His prophets, because they are in the "old" testament? Can anyone tell me which scripture says that? God warns that we are to follow His commands and assures us that His word is truth, so are they telling me it's now false because it's history? I think NOT! The only things that were nailed to the cross with Jesus are illness, and our sins. "Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed" (I Peter 2:24). Proverbs 4:20-23 says, "My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Take a moment to reflect on the words that you allow to slip from your mouth... we've learned through God's word that, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh" (Matthew 12:34). So if what you are speaking is negativity, which is a product of the adversary NOT to be associated with the Word of God, then your heart - your spirit, is in dire need of some spiritual uplifting. It is imperative to fix your eyes on the word of God, to become one with the word, to pray continuously, and to gain and maintain intimacy with the Lord. We need to concentrate on the desires that fall in line with the word of God, so that our pursuit isn't self-seeking, rather on the path of righteousness, leaving NO room for the distractions of sin. Proverbs 4:24 says, "Put away perversity from your mouth; keep corrupt talk far from your lips." Basically, You need to STOP speaking contrary to the word of God, because the Word is wisdom. "... you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus" (II Timothy 3:15). "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right" (II Timothy 3:16). Lots of folk like to question the Word of God due to the various translations of the Bible, making statements such as "the Bible has been tampered with, therefore its credibility is questionable." But if "ALL scripture if INSPIRED BY GOD," then the Word is TRUSTWORTHY. Not to mention, if these people making such claims took time to study the translations themselves, then they would be able to see that although the verbiage may vary, THE MESSAGE REMAINS THE SAME. In order to turn God's word into WISDOM in our lives, we must read it, study it, and apply it DAILY. Most jobs have a list of regulations and policy to go by, so if someone is uncertain as to what their responsibilities are, they can refer to those guidelines. Well, the Bible holds the guidelines and regulations for knowledge, wisdom, understanding, love, and salvation. The Bible teaches us how we should live as Christians. When the enemy tries to test us through our many trials, and temptations, the Bible acts as a source of regulations - policies that show us what is acceptable by Christ and what is not. So if someone is saying something does NOT fall in line with the Word of God, then it is NOT something we should be devoting our time, energy, or focus on. Read and study God's Words of Wisdom regularly, that all passages will become familiar, so that upon the adversary's challenges, you are knowledgeable enough to shut him down and "stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place" (Ephesians 4:16). Prayer of the Day:
Lord God we come to you, thanking you for another day of life. We thank you for the wisdom, knowledge, and the peace that passeth all understanding, that is you Father. We thank you for your continued guidance and revelation of your will. We thank you for removing the covers that once shaded certain circumstances in our lives. We thank you for the ability in our words to reverse the negativity that once was in our lives, for the authority to speak life and claim healing in your name Father. Lord we thank you for the changed hearts in those stubborn fathers and mothers, who are creating an unnecessary strain on forming needed relationships with the other parent, to cooperate on working toward the best interest of the children who are in the middle of the drama. Lord we thank you for unity in our homes, peace in our heart, clarity in our mind, and restoration in our total body. We thank you for filling us with your Spirit, that our tongue is now tamed, praying and speaking nothing into existence that is contrary to your Word, Hallelujah! Rather, only speaking those things that are good to edifying, that they may minister to the hearer. We thank you for the ability to live each day with a new attitude and new gratitude toward a life lived according to your will. This is our prayer in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank you now for the victory, Amen!
