Passage James 3:5-8 (NIV):
"Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison."
If you think wrong, you believe wrong, and when you believe wrong, you act wrong. God is NOT the one causing your problems. You are merely under attack of the enemy, and He can't do anything about it, because YOU have bound Him by the words of YOUR own mouth. By confessing your problems, you embody fear and disbelief of God's promise, in-turn, you allow those issues the right to remain an obstacle in your life that cannot be broken. Your circumstance will NOT get better until you change your confessions and begin to agree with the Word of God. Mark 11:23-24 says,"Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." The whole point of this SOD series, is to help you understand the importance of POSITIVE CONFESSIONS. By you speaking and praying the positive end results on a daily basis, these confessions will build up your spirit over time; once these truths are established in your heart, they will then become true to you.The secret to strong faith, is CONTINUALLY saying what God said. We get a lil weary and reluctant to dare say aloud, "my God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory," when we know the mortgage or rent is due, and we aren't sure how we will cover that cost. "Common sense" type of knowledge would convince us that it is a lie to speak those things out loud - a state of denial or illusion if you will. But if God's word is TRUTH, then how can one say that it is lying if we "speak those things that be not as though they were" (Romans 4:17)? GOD'S WORD IS TRUTH! We are trained to believe that if we feel sick, we are not healed, and if our prayers haven't worked yet, to keep flooding the gates of Heaven. But the Word says, "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." I know first hand the difficulties prayer can posses when we are confessing, "my God supplieth all my needs according to His riches in glory," yet are clearly in dire need of something; "I have abundance and there is no lack," when lack is very apparent; "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want," when want surrounds us; and "No weapon formed against us shall prosper," when it appears that everything around us is working against us and prospering very well. We must confess the Word of God continuously, until it becomes one with us - until we know God's word like the back of our hands; God's word may appear to be unbelievable at the time being, but once it becomes a part of us, then it will become true to us. The more we continue to speak and pray God's truth into existence, the stronger it becomes formed into our spirit, breaking into a realm of faith that we never knew existed. "But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come" (John 16:13). When God's word is established in your spirit (heart), your faith will be unbreakable, then and only then will you understand why God's word is labeled as TRUTH! Continually confess that although the problem seems to have gotten worse "thank you Father, in the name of JESUS, my burden has been REMOVED." Remember that repetition is the key to memorizing, and practice is pivotal to getting it right. (Capps, Charles. The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House, 1976.)
Prayer of the Day:
Father God we enter into your presence with thanksgiving, humbly submitting our praise and gratefulness of your mercies and everlasting grace. We thank you for deliverance, restoration, the peace that surpasses all understanding, strength, and the ability to discern your will over satan's manipulative schemes. We thank you for an eye opening revelation of your power, your individual message and mission for us specifically. We thank you for the authority you have given us over the enemy, to claim positive outcomes into every circumstance. We thank you for another opportunity to share your Gospel, and share our blessings with others, that we may bring honor and glory to your name. We thank you that although the obstacle may seem too big, we know that with faith as small as a mustard seed, we can have assurance that we can demand that problem be removed. We thank you for allowing us the ability to deny the enemy, his evil spirits, and his ailments the right to existence in our lives. We thank you for your continued protection and for forgiveness. We ask that ultimately Father, thy will be done in our individual lives. We thank you for removing the covers of every circumstance, as to shed light on our various situations. These things we ask, in the Holy name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
