Good Measure (6/21/13)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God! It’s Friday! Hope yall have a great weekend. God willing, may we reconvene next week. As we continue to work together to spread God’s Gospel, let us also encourage one another to take steps that lead to a healthy overall mind, body, and soul; TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.). Have you fed your spirit today? CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN, so START YOUR TRANSFORMATION TODAY, because tomorrow is NOT promised. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcomeDo NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

For Material Needs:
"I have given and it is given unto me good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, men given unto my bosom,” derived from Luke 6:38. (Capps, 1976, p. 154). Reference: Capps, C. (1976). The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House.

Luke 6:38 says, “Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” This passage goes back to the concept that we should “do unto others, as you will have them do unto you.” The jest of the book, The Tongue – A Creative Force, is to help people think before they speak, and to adopt positive vocabulary rather than speaking negativity, strife, chaos, and failure into existence. The same runs true about an individual’s personality, work ethic, and commitment – what you put out there is what you will get in return; the seed you plant will render like fruit. For example, if all you do is focus on the negative aspects of your job, your relationships, or material wealth and in-turn speak negativity into existence, then, you will become/experience the very words you’ve allowed to depart your mouth. We have that same power over others as well. Can you remember an aunt or uncle saying something along the lines of, “he’s never going to get it together,” or “she ain’t s*#!?” Well, unless that individual believed otherwise, he or she probably allowed those words to shape who they became later on; look at the statistics and famous cases of troubled adults, they had some form of discouragement that set the foundation for a life of negativity and failures. You ever wonder why some people encourage you to remove “can’t” from your vocabulary? It is because can’t means can not, thus, to speak those words aloud hinders your determination, desire, and ability to do. People who are successful maintain a positive mindset that revolves around the will to achieve – successful people believe they CAN. I recall watching an interview years ago of the singer Brandy. She recalled being told by her peers and teachers that she wasn’t pretty enough to be on TV. To many people whose goal is to become an actor, gain fame, or to enter the entertainment life, that may have proved discouraging. However, Brandy believed she could do it; she said she would do it and then she did do it. This is the type of mentality, attitude, and approach to life that we as Christians should develop and maintain. People will treat and respect you in the same manner that you present yourself. You will only be as happy, satisfied, and successful, as you believe that you can be, and strive to become. Do NOT stand in your own way.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, strength, and for strengthening the faith in our ability to use our words to produce favorable outcomes. We thank you for redemption, restoration, deliverance, salvation, and the ability to reverse the negativity we once spoke into existence. Today we deny the right of the enemy to exist in our lives. We thank you for safe travels. We thank you for removing the heavy load that we once tried to carry alone. We thank you for the discernment to know when the enemy is afoot, and for the strength to take control through our faith-filled words. We praise you for our ability to use your Word as the stabilizing force in our lives, to claim and accept the authority to rebuke the rulers of the darkness of this world; through the words of our mouths, we take back everything the devil has stolen from us. We declare now that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. Right now we petition defeat over our adversaries, binding every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us. We also thank you for the prosperity and success of Tylesha’s non-profit organization, Fostering Mind, Body, and Soul Incorporated (FMBS Inc.). This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our claim to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
