Recognize the Shepherd (6/27/13)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God! Hey yall, sorry if the SOD is sent a little late over the next few months or so. My schedule will be a little off due to scattered appointments and meetings, and sometimes I require a nap before beginning the evening’s message. I apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause. Also, I sent a message earlier regarding my non-profit organization’s participation in the Brain Tumor Society’s annual 5k walk/run. My organization will be walking/running in honor of my dear friend, Jennifer Robinson, a brain tumor survivor. If you would like to join us in the walk please let me know. DISREGARD the URL listed in the previous email, as it was listed incorrectly. If you would like to donate to the cause, please copy and paste this URL http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/Team_Jenn_R or this URL http://www.braintumorcommunity.org/goto/fmbs_4_Team_Jenn into your Internet browser to place your pledge, please feel free to SHARE this link with others. Thanks in advance. As we continue to work together to spread God’s Gospel, let us also encourage one another to take steps that lead to a healthy overall mind, body, and soul; TRANSFORM your body, mind, and soul by feeding your body healthy nutrition, and being cautious of what things you allow your eyes, ears, and spirits to be exposed to (e.g. media, books, TV, music, etc.). Have you fed your spirit today? CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN, so START YOUR TRANSFORMATION TODAY, because tomorrow is NOT promised. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcomeDo NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity. God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

For Material Needs:
"The Lord is my shepherd and I DO NOT WANT because Jesus was made poor that I through His poverty might have abundance. For He came that I might have life and have it more abundantly,” derived from Psalm 23:1, II Corinthians 8:9, and John 10:10. (Capps, 1976, p. 154). Reference: Capps, C. (1976). The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House.

Psalm 23:1 says, “The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.” II Corinthians 8:9 states, “You know the generous grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that by his poverty he could make you rich.” John 10:10 says, “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” “... Sheep are completely dependent on the shepherd for provision, guidance, and protection... As the Lord is the good shepherd, so we are his sheep – not frightened, passive animals, but obedient followers, wise enough to follow one who will lead us in the right places and the right ways. This psalm does not focus in the animal-like qualities of the sheep, but on the discipleship qualities of those who follow. When you recognize the good shepherd, follow him!” (The Life Application Study Bible New International Version. (1991). Psalm Chapter 23 - Footnotes (pp. 924-925). Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.). “There is no evidence that Jesus was any poorer than most first-century Palestinians; rather, Jesus became poor by giving up his rights as God and becoming human... As a man, Jesus was subject to place, time, and other human limitations. He did not give his eternal power when became human, but he did set aside his glory and his rights... Christ became “poor” when he became human, because he set aside so much. Yet by doing so, he made us “rich” because we received salvation and eternal life” (The Life Application Study Bible New International Version. (1991). II Corinthians Chapter 8 - Footnotes (p. 2102). Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.). “In contrast to the thief who takes life, Jesus gives life. The life he gives us right now is abundantly richer and fuller. It is eternal, yet it begins immediately... Have you taken Christ’s offer of life?” (The Life Application Study Bible New International Version. (1991). John Chapter 10 - Footnotes (p. 1897). Wheaton, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.).

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for life, health, and strength. We ask for forgiveness of everything that we have thought, said, or did, that was not pleasing in your sight. Open supernatural doors in our lives, and bless us with a double portion of your Spirit. Continue to bless Jennifer in her struggle to walk, talk, and see straight; provide complete restoration in her mobility, strength, and bodily functions. Bless all those who donate to the Brain Tumor Society in support of Jennifer and other victims/survivors of brain tumors, as well as those who participate in the actual walk/run. Father we ask that you will bless Tylesha’s organization, FMBS Inc., abundantly with prosperity and success. Like you did for Peter, we ask that Jesus intercede and say a prayer for us to ensure that our prayers are presented to the Lord according to our true need. We thank you for redemption, restoration, deliverance, and salvation. We thank you for provision, guidance, and protection. Lord we thank you for the ability to reverse the negativity spoken into existence; by the words of our mouths, we take back everything the devil has stolen from us. We declare now that no weapon formed against us will ever prosper. We petition defeat over our adversaries, binding every evil and malicious plot, plan, and scheme devised against us. This is our affirmation of faith Father God; we submit our claim to you in the name of Jesus, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
