Put on the armor (6/5/13)

Greetings Everyone,
All honor and glory be to God! If you would like to become a volunteer for my non-profit organization, FMBS Inc., please send your information to sustenance@fmbs-inc-bytye.org (for more info visit the website at http://fmbs-inc-bytye.org, the site will be updated soon to include newly appointed board members and volunteers). Our fellowship through the SOD is meant to assist one another in gaining a renewed mind through the Word of God. The more we learn about His Word and will, the more we should transform as individuals mirroring His image. So, if you are unhappy with your thought process, your way of living, or just dissatisfied with your overall being, IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO CHANGE something in your routine; CHANGE BEGINS WITHIN, START YOUR TRANSFORMATION TODAY. Continue to keep one another in prayer, thanking God for the victory, and refraining from claiming defeat from the enemy; ALWAYS pray for your desired result, NOT the unfavorable outcome. Do NOT lose sight of God in the midst of adversity, God Bless!

Passage James 3:5-8 (NLT):
"In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison."

To defeat worry and fear:
"I take the shield of faith and I quench every fiery dart that the wicked one brings against me," derived from Ephesians 6:16 (Capps, 1976, p. 152). Reference: Capps, C. (1976). The Tongue - A Creative Force. Tulsa, Oklahoma: Harrison House

Ephesians 6:12-17 says, "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." Like yesterday, I chose to surpass the solitary verse from which the affirmation listed above was derived, because of the significance in tonight’s message. These verses mentioned above, discuss the constant battle against sin and evil that we as Christians are faced with. It warns us to prepare ourselves completely with the “full armor of God”; we need to know God’s Word front and back until it is engrained in our memory, as the Word is the KEY to our victory over the adversary. The more we study God’s Word, the stronger we become as Christians, and the more equipped we become (with the armor of God) to face and defeat the enemy. We are individual entities within the “church,” united in fellowship to discover and accept the peace of God. As we stand firm and united as individuals and as the “church,” we increase our armor and become stronger in our faith and in the Spirit, as we develop the ability to defeat the darkness of this world.

Prayer of the Day:
Father God we thank you for this day, for forgiveness of our sins, and for providing a solid foundation to base our lives upon. We thank you for your knowledge and wisdom, for your peace that passeth all understanding, and for revealing all things necessary for our personal and spiritual growth. We thank you for complete knowledge and clarity of every circumstance we come up against, for contentment despite our trials, and for the ability to use your Word as the stabilizing force in our lives. Father God we thank you for allowing your Spirit to tame our tongue, that the words that depart our mouth are nothing more or less than pleasing in your sight. We thank you for equipping us with the resources necessary to put on your full armor, and the ability to cast out spiritual wickedness in high places, and to defeat evil and sin. We cancel every plot, plan, and scheme the enemy has devised against us in the matchless name of Jesus, and declare that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We speak life and blessings into every situation, reversing all negatives into positives. We thank you in advance that our needs and desires are met. We submit this affirmation of faith in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen!

Respectfully,
Tylesha "Tye" Allen
